My son is 16 and on the spectrum and hard to get out of the house to experience new things. He loves music and plays guitar and drums at home by himself. He writes and composes music too. I thought getting him out into a school would open some opportunities for him in a way that would help with his performance anxiety and self esteem. My son is also self taught and does pretty well so I didnt know what to expect. I had him in Guitar and Drum lessons for a short while at ETB. Carl worked with him on guitar but my son did not take interest for long. That is only because I figured out he enjoys drums much more. John who was teaching drums with him did an amazing job. He was very well spoken, didnt rush him and kept him comfortable and unafraid to just be himself. He was great at testing my son to see his level of play; I was very impressed with the process. We had some scheduling issues due to kids going back to school and because my son does not do well with change and especially with schedules, I unfortunately had to withdraw him from the lessons. I am working with my son on this way of thinking. I saw a spark in him when he attended; he enjoyed playing very much. Emily who runs the school was very understanding with all the challenges I was facing. I am so very happy with the overall experience, I hope I can convince my son to go back.
