Would highly recommend!!! My son is now in the school age class and has been attending here since he was 20 months old. I have recommended this school to many other parents that were in need of childcare. The teachers actually care about the kids here, they have a security system in place that makes me feel safe knowing strangers cannot wonder in and out and cameras in place to keep the staff accountable. I trust them implicitly! There are lots of special activities that they do with the kids and it is highly educational... I could go on and on, but bottom line is if they are not at home, this is where you want your kids to be.

This is a great day care we have been bringing our baby here for about 6 months and we have no complaints. They teachers genuinely care for the kids. One of my favorite things about this place is the security they have cameras that you can come in and look at if you just want to check in and they have a great check-in procedure that makes me feel secure for safety. Also the location is great too it is not adjacent to any roads so I feel very safe leaving my daughter there.

We have been a Lil School family for almost 4 years. Our son started in the infant class when he was 3 months old and has attended full time ever since. We now have our daughter (8 months old) at the Lil School who started in the infant class just a few months ago as well. I’ll start out by saying that we really love the Lil School and am so happy that I found a place for both of my children that I feel so comfortable with since honestly these teachers spend more time per week with my children than I do. It really does feel like an extended family because I feel that the teachers and staff really love our children and my son is always happy to find out in the morning that we are going to “school” that day. Any time I have had questions or concerns related to either of my children or the classes they were in my concerns were addressed very quickly. I also really like the format of the school having all of the classes divided by age so they can learn with kids their own age and feel the change of “graduating” to a new class each year. Not only do I feel like the Lil School has played a huge part in my son’s academic learning but his social skills as well through his interactions with all the teachers and children at the Lil School. I also appreciate all the “extras” this school offers through field trips, music class, tennis, art class and date nights.

Hello my name is Gloria Johnson, I am the director at The Lil School and I am a African American woman. One of the many things that I love about our school is the many different cultures and ethnicities we have attending and working at the school. All of the teachers and our owners come from all different walks of life and I think thats what separates us from many of our competitors.I know for a fact racism doesnt exist at our school. Our school thrives off love, respect, community, peace, and unity. A lot of our teachers have such a connection and have built a trust with the families that a lot of the parents trust in the educators to care for their children outside of the school hours. (On their own will of course). We encourage our educator to communicate to the parents. Communicate how the childs day was, their mood, or if they needed extra attention. Having that open line of communication puts the parents at ease while parents are away from their child.Telling a parent they feel our school or a specific classroom isnt a good fit for a child is completely okay. Every child learns and responds to different environments in different ways. But that doesnt mean racism, favoritism, or neglect exists.I do hope shedding light on the subject matter gives a better understanding of our schools atmosphere and dynamic.Sincerely,Gloria Rowe-Johnson(The Lil School Director)

This daycare is great! The teachers are so friendly, and the director is always available for questions. My kids have gone here for almost 3 years, and they have learned a lot! The teachers help with homework, which is so helpful for working parents! They have lots of fun activities planned for the kids on a monthly bases, an awesome summer program (where they take the kiddos on field trips), lots of arts and crafts, an awesome little garden in the back. I’d definitely recommend this daycare to friends and family!

Great place for learning! The staff is great and the owners are super efficient and invested in the growth and success of the students! They have an awesome curriculum which focuses on individual growth academically and socially. My boys are learning a second language, music and dance, tennis, home cooking, and so much more. I just got a letter in the mail from my son who drew a picture while at a school field trip. Hes 4 years old. This place is amazing! My 2 year old loves that he has his time with his group of friends in his class but can still play with his older brother during recess. The new owners are phenomenal and so quick to act on new ideas or input you have. Just great!

We have had our now 13 month old son at Lil School for about 10 months now. Our son loves Ms. Leah in the infant room and now that he has transitioned into the ones room, his face lights up when he sees Ms. Kamaiya. Even the staff that do not work with my son directly know him by name and always greet him and and say goodbye when we leave. If there are any illnesses or concerns, the staff does a great job of contacting me right away. Janel and Gloria are always quick to respond to any questions I have. I am thankful to have found a place for my son that feels like a community.

Lil School is the best! My boys have been at this school over the course of three ownerships. The new owners have a true love and understanding of child development. They understand that children thrive when given opportunities to be social, to play, to be artistic, to express themselves through movement, and when they are exposed to a diverse schedule of activities. They have put in a garden for each classroom, switched out much of the furniture from metal to wooden toys and tables, they have expanded the play area outside, and even put in an outdoor reading area and small indoor library. While the owners are newer, many of the beloved teachers have been a stable force for our family over the last 5 years. The teachers are reliable, caring and committed. They have taught my children wonderful manners, they give hugs when the kids need a loving touch, and they inspire learning and independence. We feel good about dropping off our children at school each day. they are safe, well fed, well taken care of, and learning. We are thankful for the Lil School.

Love this daycare. I have never had an issue with any of the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the communication is fantastic. Between the newsletters and the open communication I never have a question whats going on and most of the time my kids dont even want to leave.

Its hard leaving your baby with anyone - but Lil School made it much easier! Not only is he playing with a variety of toys and books, socializing with other babies his age, and exploring in a safe environment, but he is genuinely loved by his teachers. My husband and I are grateful to Lil School for continuing to support our sons development, feeding him healthy and tasty meals, and letting him thrive as an independent person. We appreciate you!

Do not go to this school, I did a tour and was lied to by the staff, they told me they had more teacher to kid ratio, but after doing further research and talking to other parents there I learned that they stick one teacher per 17 kids . That is not only against the law but it also creates an extremely stressful environment for the teacher as well as the kids. Please when looking at a day care , do your extensive research!

This school is amazing! I have shopped around for several weeks before choosing this place for my preschooler and kindergartener for after school care. I am delighted to see my children thrive at this school; my boys love coming here. They do monthly field trips, serve healthy lunches, and stimulate learning through hands on activities. Theres a huge yard for outside play with 2 playgrounds, a garden area for each age group, and a large indoor gym for rainy days. And on top of it all, the price is right!

*The Reviewer*I’ve had my older daughter enrolled here since June 2017, when she was just about to turn 3. She is now about to turn 5. My younger girl was born in October 2017, and has been attending The Lil School since January 2018. Between the two of them, I have experienced almost all age levels at The Lil School, interacted with all of the teachers and staff, been all over the inside and outside of the building, and had numerous conversations, emails, and meetings with their teachers. I’d like to think I am well qualified to write a review of The Lil School.*The Facility*The building, though hard to find on my first visit, is in a perfect location for a busy childcare facility in a busy area: far removed from the streets and main parking lot, and, well, hard to find. It’s very spacious: rooms for each of the age levels; an indoor gym with padded floors and soft play equipment; 2 sets of kid friendly bathrooms; a kitchen with all the necessary safety features; and a huge outdoor space which has been cordoned off for the different needs of the age groups. My only wish for the outdoor space is there is more shade, the Sacramento valley weather being what it is. I’ve mentioned this to the director and she is very amenable to the idea and will look into adding some. The building itself is very secure. There are 2 doors to even get into the main facility, one of which requires a code that is updated regularly.*The Staff*From the owner to the kitchen helper to the floaters to the teachers, one thing is very clear: everyone here both loves their job and loves the kids. Every morning, I ask my 20 month old if she’s excited to go to school. I say “you’re going to see Miss Kamaya, and Miss Kimmee, and Miss Dominique”, and with each name her eyes light up and her smile gets bigger and bigger. You can’t buy that kind of love from a 20 month old, believe me, I’ve tried. They take their ratios seriously, and their care seriously. I’ve arrived during nap times, and the teachers are unceremoniously sprawled on the floor, soothing and patting as many little backs as they can reach.I get pictures in the evening that they took throughout the day. When we go to birthday parties of classmates, the teachers are there as invited guests, and usually have made the birthday cake.*The Atmosphere*Love, care, safety, and the kids personal touches are visible all over the school. We get regular newsletters and updates, and invited to all kinds of wonderful “extra” events with the little ones, like holiday parties, parent recognition events, and parent group meetings. My only wish here is that the parent group meetings were at varied times so those of us who work a bit later can attend.*The Final Tally*When we moved here in 2017, I was 6 months pregnant, had less than a week before I started my new job, and had found The Lil School online before we moved. They were accommodating, allowing my oldest to enroll and spilt her time between the 2’s and 3’s until there was room in the 3’s for her to be there full time. They helped her potty train. They took my concerns seriously and took action when I felt something wasn’t right in her class or with a particular incident (there are always going to be issues or incidents, even if it’s something that started at home and bleeds into the school. The trick is how the school handles it, and they always handled it well.)I plan to keep both my girls there until they age out, because why wouldn’t I? They are loved, they are safe, they are being enriched in ways that I could not do at home. The Lil School deserves every single of the 5 stars I have given it, as do all the staff working there. Make the call, take a tour, and tell them Team Nordin sent you.

Black people dont send youre child to this school my 3 year old nephew has been singled out and miss treated by the teachers at the school on different occassion to the point another teacher (two of them) told his mother about the misstreat he was reciving but asked his mother to file a complaint but not use their names because they fear they will lose their job..its sad that in 2017 a bright and amazing little black boy is subject to racism by ignorant people that we trust to care for and treat our children the same no matter what.
