The students are great and really care about putting out quality work. It was a friendly environment all the way around and I will definitely be back!

Went here after due to a big tangle in my hair that I couldnt get out myself, the employees were very welcome energetic, even after the 7 hours of working on my hair. I absolutely loved my experience here, thinking about coming here after high school. Great prices! Also came here for last minute braids I was very satisfied looked exactly like the picture I showed them, I very much recommend queen city college.

I like this place. always does a good job. But Google says open on saterday 8:30 am but its 9:37 and nobodies here.. the school is good but they need to do better at relaying there times to the public so customers can not waste there time

I have tried to enroll as a student for two months and have only received about 6 or 7 emails back from admissions this whole time. This is completely ridiculous and unprofessional and not only that but I tried to complain to someone higher up AND STILL DIDNT HEAR ANYTHING BACK. Now I’m missing an opportunity to enroll FOR TWO MONTHS because admissions cannot answer a simple email or phone call. And when I showed up the first time she didn’t even show her face, she sent someone else to deliver my application to her. Completely unacceptable.

The students there are wonderful. Ive gone there a total of three times n it has only been the third time that I had a bad experience. So I guess the star rating is wrong. The first two times I got exact what I asked for. But this third time I was just devastated. First the woman who did my hair was not a student she was one of the teachers there Im assuming. Just from the consultation earlier that week she didnt make me feel very confident in wanting to get it done. So when I found out later on that she was the one that was gonna do my hair I wasnt very enthused in all honesty. She proceeded to degrade my hair for about 20 minutes before she even started doing it. And even though she had the idea that the green wasnt gonna come out she still proceeded to bleach my whole head. Not to mention my roots even though my roots were suppose to stay same color. Ive never bleached my roots because it tends to damage the hair. N there was no reason for it. But instead o just testing a strand she does the while head. And then proceeds to check the very LAST bit of hair that she had JUSTbleached to see if it was working. Which I thought was kind of odd. But I tried to tell myself she knew what she was doing. Shethen proceeds to tell me that it isnt working to which I noticed myself tok. She then says we r gonna try to put red over it to take out the green. N so she had me pick a color. N I tried picking the one that was gonna be closest to the color of ambre that would be in my hair. She puts protection stuff in my hair to get it alright after putting so many colors in. Which I was thankful for because Im one of those people who are scared to do stuff to her own hair like that. But then afterwards she asks me again about giving it a trim because I had split ends. I typically ask my friend who is a hair dresser to do so but the woman basically insisted n even gave me a dirty look when I said I do it myself. Which I do every year. But I said yes and she was nice enough to do it for free but then tells me that its becauseshe isnt doing anything else to my hair. Which baffled me because thats not what I was told in the beginning. She didnt explain that to me or else I would have chose a different red. Bevause this red is basically close to my natural hair color but with a red tint. Its nothing I would have wanted in my hair if it was just gonna be that color. It was pretty none the less but I could have done that at home. Its been a day after this n I realized she cut too much of it off. I had a lot of errands to run after the appointment so I didnt have time to notice it until I got home from work today. My hair is very hard to grow out. And I was excited that it was finally getting longer. Not to mention she fried a few pieces of my hair. Needless to say I was not satisfied. I was gonna try to have a talk with her afterwards about how I felt but she started being nice at the end. I literally tipped her 20 bucks because she made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. Just five seconds in to doing my hair she was already sighing as if it was the last thing she wanted to do. I completely understand that I messed up by using green splat hair dye on my hair and I dont hold her at fault for that but the way she made me feel and the lack of trying to even get it to where I was asking to be done just left me upset. I was just gonna leave this alone because this is the only time this has happened, but on top of everything else and then finding out that she cut it too much I just couldnt hold it in anymore. I feel like this needs to be heard and known.

This school taught me everything I needed to know in order to take and pass my barber exam.The staff is great at their profession and go above and beyond for the students and clientele. I recommend anyone who is desirous of learning a trade to complete any program and take the state exam.Thanks for everything.

If you want a crispy haircut for $7 come here! The trainers are good and they really want you to get what you want. The place and environment are cool too by the way.

Incredible place!! Awesome service and fantastic work! I went to go get my hair re-dyed and I was looking for a black to Auburn type thing and they did a wonderful job! The lady was nice and we had an amazing conversation!

This is the only place I go to for my cuts now! I see my barber, Denzel, about every two weeks for a fresh cut. Very relaxed but also a professional environment. I HIGHLY recommend this location to other coworkers and try to spread the word. Great prices and great services provided at this place. Staff is very pleasant and professional as well. Ms. Becky worked on my hair with new student, Sierra. I got my hair cut & colored. I truly LOVE it. Such kind, patient people who know what theyre doing. Amazing customer service from both women. Definitely would recommend both of them to everyone I know. I will surely be back.

The school is a joke! No structure. They only give about three hours of real instruction. The other hours are filled with breaks, self studies and facials. This is a scam. They only want your financial aid. Period.

Went in to have my hair highlighted and cut. The student did a fantastic job! I absolutely love it. The atmosphere was very enjoyable as well. The students were all very professional and it was nice to be surrounded with positive energy. I cant wait until my next appointment....Maybe this time I will have a facial or a body wrap in their Esthetics department!

My wife just went here for the first time and was very happy with her results. The senior daytime cosmetology instructor was fantastic and her students seemed very knowledg. Her student did an excellent job. Staff was also professional. Will definitely return!

I was a little apprehensive about going after reading some of the reviews, and I have to say I’m glad I decided to give them a try anyway. Yes my wait was a little longer than a regular salon, but I was informed of that ahead of time and was given the option to schedule an appointment for another day, but I chose to wait. I had an initial consult with the instructor and was given a price for what I was wanting. I was assigned to a student to receive my service. There was clear difference between her and other seasoned professionals I have been to but she is A STUDENT. Yes my service did take longer than a salon but the students are learning and I am glad they take thier time and don’t rush. When you rush mistakes happen. I have to say that this is probably one of the BEST salon services I have ever had. The student had questions along the way and her instructor was right there to answer them and assist if needed. I WILL BE RETURNING and want to tell everyone reading this don’t always believe the negative things that you read, I (and my bank account 😂) are glad I didn’t!

Was a former student and this is the worst school instructors don’t really teach you nothing. Unorganized school. They care more about these new goofy rules than actually teaching students so they can be successful in the field. Do your research before applying here

I came in recently for a fresh cut and color touch up and having never been in before I was a little skeptical. Immediately all my nerves were at ease, everyone was so friendly and eager to make sure I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. My hair looks amazing and the service was top notch!

Waited over an hour for my oldest sons haircut and whoever cut my youngest sons hair messed it up bad I normally dont have an issue with this school but my kids wont be going back. I understand their students but make sure your customers leave happy

I am currently enrolled in this school as a nail technician and I have had nothing but positive experiences since I started in November. I have had every concerned addressed quickly, and am treated as a valued member of a team. I have had a change in instructors since I started, so I can now say I have been trained by two of the biggest rock stars in the nail industry! We are taught about quality products and how to use them in a safe and sanitary way.

Top Notch hair salon you cant get more professional than this the students are very well taught and the teacher was very observant and helpful to myself and the students I am beyond satisfied. And I have to tell you if you go in there ask for dash she did an amazing job!!!

I was really excited to try this place, my friends had only good experiences here and fixed bad hair mess ups!However, on Google it says hours 8am to 4pmThey neglected to tell me, as I waited 10 minutes, maybe 15, that they stop taking clients at 2 PM! I arrived around 3:18pm and saw no sign anywhere saying thats they stop taking clients at 2pm.My husband and I waited as students gave us weird looks and walked out without letting us know that they werent taking anyone else... I had to go find someone and ask before I found out.I will try this place another time, BUT I had to try a different hair salon to get my hair cut in the mean time.

Queen City College is an amazing beauty school. I am glad I chose to go to QCC. Its a day to day learning environment. It is a place were we the students get to demonstrate what they have learn from their instructor. It may take more then the average time youd get from regular salons but trust that we want the client to walk out happy. Satisfaction with the correct knowledge to help beautify a person as they walk out any beauty institution, is what Queen City College offers.

Hair futs are very reasonably priced as students are doing them. Takes a little longer than a traditional barber shop, but professional and nice atmosphere. Will continue to return.

Be sure to have some extra $$$ when you go to this place!! Cause you will to go somewhere after they get what they call finished. To get whatever they did, fixed by a professional!! Wish I could leave a -1 star! What a JOKE of a Place. So called Trainers need to be trained.

Back in my home town I go to the local college to get hair and nails done and love it. I moved here and have tried NUMEROUS TIMES (over months) to get ahold of Queen City to get my hair and nails done but they have NEVER answered the phone!!! How do y’all get customers if y’all can’t even answer the phones

Worst experience EVER!! I have been going to hair schools for years, but every time Ive went to this one, its been awful. The first time I got my hair highlighted, I ended up having four different people work on it because they were complaining about doing it and then the students kept leaving. Last time I went I waited 2 hours before they even started on my hair. I had to finally ask what was going on after an hour of waiting. This time, I waited over an hour and finally walked out. After getting assigned a student finally, they couldnt find the right color and once that was found, I waited 20 minutes while I think they were mixing the color and finally left...so who knows how long that actually took. When I called back and spoke with the instructor, she said, theyre students. That is no excuse! I have had TONS of positive experiences with students which is why I always go. I will NEVER go back to this place! It was frustrating enough waiting in the waiting area while they found a student, and then equally as bad waiting in the chair having no idea what was going on. At least tell a person what the situation is, although that kind of wait is still unacceptable. Only plus is that my highlights turned out nice both times, but unless you have a half a day to waste, its not worth the headache.

Very unprofessional very bad services. They just ruined my hair. So called graduates are rude and unprofessional. Dont waste your time and money to them.

My daughter and I went here for the first time. My daughter got a perm( her first)Symkia did her perm, she was absolutely wonderful. She explained everything and made sure she was comfortable. yuliya did my my hair. I wanted chocolate and copper highlights. She took what I thought I wanted and mixed it up a little. When I saw the finished product. I was blown away. I have found my salon. For a perm and highlights, it was a bargain.

I love QCC. Everyone is so nice and enjoy working with the public. I am a regular at QCC. It is a college where they are learning and the instructor may be present, so it may take longer than a regular business but most understand that. Give it a try!

I believe They give great haircuts but remember theyre only students and the more you can tell them about what you want the better they can assist you

Had called on November 16 2017 for a price on a relaxer and roller wrap. Was told 26 dollars. Get to the salon had to wait over an hour for service. My daughter stylist was Johnathan the instructor told him to wash the relaxer out my daughter head and put it back n for about ten to fifteen minutes. Thats a no no. We get our bill it was fifty dollars and fifty cents how...She only got a relaxer and flat iron. Ill never go back. The instructor couldnt even explain the price. She only said a flat iron takes more time...But how u jump from twenty six dollars to fifty fifty. Ill rather go to a boot legger

Went in on Saturday, short wait for a nail tech Was very impressed with my nails. Students do the services, and the instructors come over to check the work, she checked during (but at no time did she hover) checked again before polish and then checked after. The students all were very friendly as was the instructor. I really enjoyed our time their. I went with my daughter she got a beautiful full done full set while I got a fill. A lady next to us got a pedi and a mani. This is a great place to go if you are on a budget but still like to have pretty nails. I do HIGHLY reccomend you bring your own polish especially if you want gel, they have small selection but their gel selection is very small. But fr other then that I WILL be going back for my nails. Pedicure probably no as I like the spoiled pampered treatment and they dont have the nice massage chairs that the salons have, a comfy chair and a bucket for soaking your feet... Im spoiled when it comes to my pedis, I like the massage chair, the bubbling massaging water and a glass of wine. But I enjoy saving on my manicures!! Go check them out. I reccomend an appointment Tuesday-Friday, they are VERY busy... Saturdays are walk in only though... get their early

Horrible took my stepson here and took him almost a hour to get his haircut finish, very unprofessional, ratchet, and ghetto

If there was an option for no stars, Id give it. My undercut was chipped and uneven and my hair looked as if someone used a hacksaw to cut it. Pieces were 2 inches shorter and 3 inches longer. It looked TERRIBLE and the instructor didnt even do a check at the end when the student was finished!
