We are very impressed with Shiba Taekwondo. My daughter has been attending classes for several months and we are very grateful for the professionalism, hard work and dedication from Master Shiba and her black-belt instructors, especially during this very challenging pandemic. We appreciate the community involvement, opportunity for high-level competitions as well as the clear and open communication from Master Shiba from the beginning. My daughter looks forward to every class and would be totally lost without Master Shiba and her amazing team. Thank you for keeping her engaged, challenged, inspired and active when we needed it most!

Our son has been attending this studio for about three years now, and we love it! We have been so impressed with not only the quality of the instruction but how much all of the instructors truly care about each student and strive to create an environment of hard work, persistence, and respect. We consider Master Shiba and the other Masters world class caliber teachers, and it has been so rewarding to see our son progress under their tutelage to do things we didnt even know were possible in the taekwondo world! I would highly recommend this studio to anyone who wants to introduce their child to a martial arts practice because of the consistency of instruction and the ability they foster in every student to do their best work in order to progress.

Shiba Taekwondo is the absolute best martial arts school! Two of our children have taken classes from them for several years, earned their black belts, and learned invaluable life and leadership skills along the way!! Master Shiba is purposeful always in her methods and instruction and puts each student’s best interests first. I, as an adult, have found my lifelong passion in martial arts at Shiba Taekwondo! The adult classes are also the best you’ll find anywhere!

The Tigers program has been fantastic for my son he has been in the program almost a year and he loves it! He has such high energy this gives him a way to focus it and learn discipline. Our instructors are amazing and have such love for these kids.

My son was extremely excited to start going to TKD at Shiba. His energy is very high, and loves being around others. After a few weeks in the tigers class, they determined that he would be better off in the tiny tigers class. This made him very upset because the kids his age were in the tigers class, and he just got to know them. My son has very high test scores in school, and has never had a problem grasping new concepts ever. I believe they did not have the time or energy to deal with my sons excitement about being there, and threw him in the tiny tigers class. It then took him ten months to receive his first stripe, and they NEVER moved him back to tigers, and NEVER explained why. They also NEVER reported any progress, and NEVER took the time to understand him. I believe they are good people, but with too many kids, and during the pandemic must have lost their touch. With not being allowed to sit in on classes because of covid-19, they should really make an effort to inform you on how your child is progressing, and what more they could do to improve. The only info I ever received, was from my son, and after a while it was obvious they didnt have the time for him. I wouldve gladly helped, and even got him into some one on one time with an instructor, but with the pandemic and lack of communication, I figured they didnt have the time, nor the want to teach him. I wish I could be more positive, because I do believe the instructors care, but only have so much time..

My daughter reluctantly agreed for me to sign her up for taekwondo 2 years ago, and she has loved it ever since! We appreciate Master Shiba and the other instructors! Despite the many hiccups weve had with my daughter & her health, they have always been responsive and encouraging. They want to see her succeed!! We love Shiba TKD!

My Son started with Shiba Taekwondo about 7 months ago and absolutely loves it!! All of the instructors have been very helpful and caring. Ms. Nowlin was a his first instructor and he loved going to her class. He has advanced out of her class and he is really enjoying his new instructors. They truly respect the kids and in turn the kids respect them. My Son has grown so much with his confidence and his attitude has gotten so much better. He has gained confidence and self control. I recommend Shiba Taekwondo to everyone I know.

Shiba Tae Kwon Do, my first impressions was a very warm, family atmosphere, knowledgeable, I felt very comfortable there, reminded me of my old school, Sun Yi academy, so I signed my boys Up...

My son and husband go to parent and me taekwon do and absolutely love it! My son was also able to participate in their summer day camp. The activities were so thought out, something for every interest! The kids were socially distanced and the staff was very conscious of being safe. My son had the time of his life meeting new friends, learning about reptiles, doing tae kwon do, learning about being an EMT, and so much more. Mrs. Nowlin had so much patience with the kids and was so understanding. I can’t recommend Shiba Taekwondo enough! 100/10!

Both of my children are enrolled in classes with Shiba Taekwondo and I can say without a doubt that they are each gaining life skills that improve their personal and educational paths. They are learning the physical aspects of Taekwondo, which improves their confidence, health and self-control, while also learning the mental aspects, which teaches them discipline, leadership and respect.Shiba Taekwondo is a martial arts school that is focused on developing and growing each child individually. Master Shiba and all instructors understand your childs strengths and growth opportunities and focus on their personal success. Receiving that next belt or rank is an achievement that is earned through hard work, not just attendance, which has taught my children patience and integrity.Master Shiba, the instructors, the students and families are all a strong support system for each other. I love this taekwondo place the instructors here are so wonderful so amazing so discipline my kid learns so much of his own discipline I love this place.... Highly recommend if you’re looking for a activity for your child to grow and self confidence in having better self-esteem

Ive been enrolled at Shiba Taekwondo for over 2 years now and Ive never once regretted that decision. I will delay leaving for vacation just to make sure I squeeze that last class in. Master Shiba is one of the most down-to-earth and honorable people Ive ever met, but dont think that means shell go easy on you. She will push you every day to be your best and do your best. Honestly though, everyone there is amazing. All the instructors are helpful, my classmates are like family, and the workout is good. Real good. Dont hesitate to try out a class!

Attending Shiba Taekwondo has been such an enriching experience for my son! He receives high quality instruction in a fun and positive school. All instructors and instructor students teach with encouragement and truly desire for each student to succeed! My son learns proper Taekwondo technique and also gets great exercise! Such a great school!

This school really is a step above in too many ways to explain! Support, teaching, guiding, disciplines, friendship, and modeling the best behaviors to aspire to. It has been the best positive for my daughter since moving to Utah. We are so grateful to have found THE BEST martial arts studio!!!

My daughter started taking Taekwondo classes with Master Sidney Shiba since she was 3, she loved it since. She is so proud of all she has learn, she knows her tenants and stances and she enjoys learning a new discipline. The whole staff is professional, great teachers. Definitely a place for kids to start training in a complete sport and for parents to know their kids are learning in a safe environment.Now my son has been learning at Shiba for almost 3 years. He loves it. His coaches are so caring. They send updates on his progress and have helped him progress, even when the pandemic hit they were tracking him during confinement. We used marco polo to send updates and they kept making corrections to his forms. Now he has earned his deputy yellow belt. Their commitment to their students and their safety is amazing.My daughter has very high energy and sometimes has a hard time with self control during classes but the staff has always been amazing and patient with her. She is learning discipline and never once has sbe mentioned someone being impatient with her. She is working towards her green belt and progressing every day!

I have been with Master Shiba since 2002. Having been a military wife meant to move all the time and find a new TKD school which hasnt always been easy. I hurt myself in 1998 and thought I was done with Taekwondo forever. I moved to Utah in late October of 2001 and went to the Fitness Studio on base where Master Shiba was teaching kickboxing. After a few month I realized how much I missed martial arts, signed up and never looked back.

With kindness, love and no small amount of disciplined exercise, Master Shiba teaches TKD to folks of all ages -- and its an absolute blast! I went for a year until my financial situation changed, but ever since Ive been desperately missing it. From friendly board-breaking competitions held at the local gym, to award-winning performances at the national level; I legitimately cant imagine a better TKD experience. They get my emphatic recommendation!

My son started studying Taekwondo with Master Shiba four months ago. We are impressed by the quality instruction he receives from teachers that know him and are as excited to see him excel. He was part of the team from his first class. We are grateful to have found Shiba Taekwondo.UPDATEI have been so impressed with Master Shiba and the other instructors during the pandemic. When businesses had to close due to the pandemic, Master Shiba offered online instruction via Zoom. As soon as permission was granted to resume in-person instruction, Master Shiba had a plan in place to protect students and teachers. Students wear masks, remain 12 feet apart, and enter/exit one at a time. Due to such a robust plan, taekwondo is one of the only activities our family has felt comfortable continuing. This is only because of Master Shibas response. Once again, Shiba Taekwondo has demonstrated that they care about their students and their families.

I have been a part of this Dojang for roughly 5 years and been a student for 2year. It has been the greatest experience ever. ive learned so much and have made life long friends in the process... Not your average run of the mill martial arts school. they treat you like youve been there for years on day one..

My wife and four of my children (10-17 yrs old) attend Shiba Tae Kwon Do with Master Shiba and her other instructors. It has improved their self confidence and their skills. Shiba Tae Kwon Do is a great learning environment for 5 people in my family. They are all at different levels and each have their personal needs met and are provided with the best training to stretch themselves and reach their own personal goals.
