This school was the best investment I ever made. The staff is so amazing and they help you and work with you to make sure you follow your dream with whatever it is you want to do with makeup. If you want to better your knowledge in makeup application or step out on your own as a makeup artist, The Academy of Makeup gives you so much opportunity! Everyone is amazing and so accommodating. There are classes you can take to expand your knowledge or brush up on the skills you already have. Truly a great experience there. Such a blessing to have wonderful artists to share their knowledge and passion with others. I always feel like its a home to come back to.

This program was great for all levels of artists. I was happily surprised with the extensive topics covered during this accelerated program; color theory, history of makeup, special effects, airbrush, to name a few. Even having been a working makeup artist for several years, I genuinely learned some new tricks and techniques that I use to this day. While I know YouTube seems to be where everyone is learning how to do makeup, in the working world it is so important to have proper training; such as sanitation procedures and being able to recognize face and eye shapes, as well as undertones. Having this certification will definitely help you in the long run. The fact that the class sizes are smaller allows for more one-on-one and you really do enjoy practicing on classmates. I love that Lindsay is constantly offering continuing education, not just limited to makeup. They also give you helpful business tools if you plan on branching out as an individual contractor, which I thought was incredibly helpful. I would absolutely recommend this school!

I was part of the very first graduating class at The Academy of Makeup and I had such a wonderful experience! I came in wanting to expand my knowledge in working with makeup and to develop a sense of professionalism in the makeup industry. Not only did I achieve these goals, but I had fun during the process! The instructors were both awesome, exhibiting such patience with us students and teaching us some of their best tips and tricks. The Academy of Makeup made me feel more confident in my skills as a makeup artist and more comfortable working with clients. It is a great stepping stone for anyone who is trying to make their way into the makeup world.

I had the absolute best time attending this course! I met some amazing new people and we had so much fun learning and playing in makeup! I had trouble finding a makeup course that was affordable, flexible, conveniently located and fit into my schedule and this was the perfect fit! Im currently a student at The Academy of makeup school and I couldnt be more proud. Lindsey the owner has so much knowledge to offer and share and she supports her students and everything that they do. Beth is the daytime instructor and she is also a very knowledgeable and awesome instructor my time that I have spent here so far has been well worth the hustle and grind Ive been on to be I definitely recommend that anyone takes the opportunity to enroll here at the Academy of makeup!

I am a college student who also works part-time and didnt think there was anyway I could pursue my dream of being part of the makeup business until I found The Academy Of Makeup. The school provided me with the skills I needed to make something that was just a hobby into a career. Since my completion I have been offered multiple positions with different cosmetic companies and am slowly creating my own business doing makeup for events like Proms. I would not have had the confidence to pursue any of those things without the guidance and help of everyone there. I definitely recommend this program to anyone considering a job in the makeup industry or who just wants to learn more about the art itself because I guarantee you will learn some tricks from the pros and the variety of class schedules available allows almost anyone to find the perfect session to enroll in!

This school was an absolutely wonderful experience for me, and truly paved the way for me to work in the makeup field. The instructors are so helpful and informative, and really give you personal attention to help you learn to the best of your ability. I started this program as a beginner not knowing much about make up . I now fully feel confident in my skills. This school goes above and beyond. The instructors really give you one on one training, they also teach you make up as business which is great so you really know what it will be like out on your own. Love it there !!!!

I am so happy that I obtained my makeup artistry certificate from the Academy of Makeup in Maryland. I had wanted to attend schooling for makeup for years, but didnt think there was an option that would suit my needs. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the academy of makeup was affordable as well as had an easy schedule that fit around my current job. The class was small which was perfect for an intimate, hands on learning experience, and the instructor Beth was knowledgeable as well as patient and kind. Lindsay, the coordinator, did an fantastic job with providing the right tools to learn proper application, and we received instruction on everything from simple hygiene to special fx makeup. Both ladies were adaptable to our needs as students and provided constructive criticism that really helped us feel confident in ourselves and our abilities. Although I came to the academy of makeup with previous knowledge in the field, I still felt I leaned a great deal and was glad to have a place to test myself and grow as an artist. The program was so enjoyable I was truly sad when it was over, but I am thankful for the experience and would recommend this school to anyone looking to become a certified makeup artist in Maryland.

This was the best experience ever! I was extremely nervous about going back to school and for makeup when I didnt have that big of a knowledge. This school is extremely affordable and they offer payment plans(which is what I did). It was a 6 week program and fit to your schedule! I was very sad to be graduation me since I had grown so close with my classmates and my instructor. Not only did I gain a ton of knowledge but I gained a family. I will definitely be going back for more senior classes and workshops!

The professional training I received at The Academy of Makeup is unmatched. The teachers taught us real life skills that we could actually use in our fields. Everytime I left class I couldnt wait to go back and learn more. They are the only makeup school in Maryland that teaches airbrushing which is the cutting edge of makeup skills. If you are considering going to a makeup certification course this should be the one!

The instructors and the atmosphere were extremely welcoming and they go above and beyond to help you with anything you need to succeed in the business.

As a Self-Taught Make-Up Artist of 5 years, I thought I knew everything!! It wasnt until I attended TAOM that I learned SO much more....from the history of Makeup, to Airbrushing, to Halloween Make-Up!! I then realized I would be an even better MUA!! I knew my 1st day of class that I would love this School and I have my Instructor, Beth and Owner, Lindsay to thank for ALL that I have learned and accomplished!!
