Kari and her staff are wonderful. The studio was a great dance experience for my 4 year old daughter. They are very knowledgeable and caring toward their students! I would definitely Dance art Academy.

We were referred to Kari, the owner of DanceArt Academy, by three different moms who had nothing but high praise for the quality instruction that their children received. Our experience has been consistent with those recommendations, and we couldn’t be more pleased. My teen needed some private lessons in order to brush up in preparation for a high school placement audition, and Kari and her daughter, Hannah, effectively bent over backwards to accommodate us so that there would be enough time to work with my daughter to help ensure she was ready in time. Kari’s communication, timeliness and organization have always been exemplary, and, upon reading some of these reviews I can’t imagine we are even talking about the same person! Our experience has been markedly different, and, as Kari never even raised the topic of payment, I simply presented same at the time services were rendered. I have heard about some parents who were asked not to return after some apparent mistreatment of Kari’s staff and can only guess that there may have been personal axes to grind. We have been flatly impressed not only by Kari’s high level of professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication to excellence but most especially by the generous warmth, love, joy and kindness she exudes. From the moment that Kari first greeted my daughter with a welcoming hug to the moment my daughter left her last preparatory lesson receiving words of encouragement, a letter of support, a little gift, and even follow up communication to see how the audition went, Kari’s heart for teaching and commitment to a happy experience have been profoundly evident in every interaction. We have learned that Kari teaches a teen/adult class, and my daughter is asking to return as a regular student after Spring Break. We look forward to more opportunities to work with Kari in the future and couldn’t be more grateful to her for reigniting our daughter’s love of dance.

My kids have been going to DanceArt for many years now. Were just down to one still dancing and he loves it. They gave him a great foundation in technique.

Weve just started sending our 4 year old daughter to DanceArt Academy and she loves it. She did a butterflies and fairies camp over the summer and it really helped her come out of her shell, building her confidence and giving her something fun to do. She loves the teachers and I am impressed with how well they work with young children.

Miss Kari conducts dance classes at our Preschool, Little Sunshines Playhouse and Preschool, each week. She is the most professional and patient extra-curricular instructor that weve had come to the school to date. The children and families LOVE that their children are able to participate in dance on site and even show off their newly learned skills in performances. We love Miss Kari and Dance Art Academy!

My daughter started at DanceArt from the very beginning and has been so strengthened and encouraged by the owner, teachers and atmosphere. She was always encouraged to go beyond what she thought she could do and was able to discover more about herself and her ability. She helped in putting together some of the performances and learned so much from that experinece behind the scenes, as well as performing as chorus and lead. It was always a welcoming and accepting atmosphere that fostered and celebrated dancers no matter what level you were. Her time at Dance Art helped form who she is and gave her her love of dance and movement which she will take into college. Thank you!

I love this school and the owner Mrs Kari. She treats us like family and gives her dancers the opportunity to obtain professional dancing skills and nurtures a love and passion for dance in my 6 year old daughter and Im my Aunt, cousin and second cousin. We enjoy our practice up north while my Aunt and cousins practice at the south studio and love it.

**In regards to their south studio, Fountain Arts Center**I used to love this studio..... until it was bought by another woman just over a year ago. Last year we had a bullying incident that wasnt handled correctly (or at all). The companys organization is non-existent and there is so much miscommunication or no communication at all. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and registered my daughter for a class this year and come to find out she was the only one in the class........ for 6 weeks...... until they cancelled it last week. I was told I would be refunded the $60 tuition, however that was retracted to $30 when I called today to find out where the refund was. I informed them to keep the $60 if there was such an issue, and notified them I was cancelling my card to avoid any charges to my account in the future..... I dont trust my information to be deleted from their system. I hope good things for this organization in the future, but for now I would look for alternative dance studios if you are in the market.

I wish I could give Zero stars, this studio is as unprofessional as they come. Their communication efforts or lack there of are really unprofessional and if you want to be an informed parent you will not get anywhere except to be told to “be patient”. Ms. Kari is the owner, she also teaches or used to teach classes. She is very unorganized and plays favorites within the studio quite often. They only care about the money not the well being of your child. Ms. Rhonda was my daughters instructor this year and was brought in from Florida, she would yell at our group of 4 year olds, gossip with the other parents about the kids and parents involved at the DanceArt Academy, and if given the chance will make your child out to be a cautionary tail to the other moms behind your back. This studio is disorganized, unprofessional, and after having my daughter for a six hour practice and not making sure my 4 year old had anything to drink just shows they most definitely don’t put the care of your child before their care of how much you owe them. So happy to not be at this studio and if you’re looking for a quality dance studio this is NOT the place.

This studio used to be a great place. Lately, bullying is allowed, and even praised, while students who turn in life threatening comments as well as standing up to bullies who even assault a smaller child, are punished and ousted, even with a no bullying policy in the contract signed at the beginning of the year. Business practices are also sketchy.

We started off great with my daughter (4 years old). We started in August and were told once a month we would get to come and watch and get updates on her progress. This never happened and we were not allowed to watch the class. I did not get to see my daughter dance until the performance in December. They moved the winter program to another location and it was not very organized. After winter break I received an email saying our location was no longer available would need to use another location until March when hopefully they would move us to another location, they so changed her time and teacher . When I responded to the email I had follow up questions and never received an email back. I also tried to call and left a messages and she never returned my phone call. My daughter loved going to class and she will miss it, but they are so unorganized and unprofessional when it comes to handling the customer. I understand that things happen, but they need to be on top of keeping parents informed an in the loop.

If I could give a Zero I would This organization is all about the MONEY. They basically robbed my family of money by insisting on paying for a concert that doesnt take place until May and then kicked my granddaughter out of the class because she wasnt as good as the other per-schoolers. The owner sent an email, loaded with lies from the instructor, who should not even be allowed around children with her horrible, nasty attitude. Stay away from this morally corrupt organization.

We have been with Kari since she opened her doors. The word I would use that describes our daughters experience the best is opportunity. Kari has given our daughters the increased opportunity to progress in their ballet to the point where they were at one time ambivalent to dance and now cant wait to go everyday. They are carefully prepared to take on the responsibility to wear their toe shoes. Their feet and bodies are given months for this preparation. My oldest has been given the opportunity to dance pas de deux and choreograph as well. Their confidence has soared! They are also learning to be generous dancers, learning to not just be the prima, but work at supporting roles as well. The positive encouragement from Kari and her instructors has inspired a life long love of the art and has blessed our family. (From Mom Bonnie)
