(True Story) In the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic I found myself unemployed and had no idea of where or what I was going to do next for a career. New Horizons reached out to me and showed me how I could transition into the IT Industry which is currently growing fast and under manned. Im thankful for New Horizons for getting me thru a dark time in my life and into a great career in IT.

To one and all who reads this, New Horizons is professional, focused, and dare I say Tenacious group of administrators, instructors and professional IT Gurus youll ever meet. The group will provide what ever assistance, instruction or personal care one might need to achieve your goals within the IT community. You can walk in there with absolutely very little knowledge of the IT world and depending on your current skill set walk out with multiple certifications within 3 to 4 months as farther out if one needs more time. They are there to help through every step the process, from walking in the door, training, certification & most importantly walking straight into a job. I cant speak highly enough about New Horizons.

I worked with New Horizons for about two and a half years. It has been a pleasure to work with such a great team and staff. Their instructors are constantly voted the best in the state as well as the nation and will always push you in the right direction in the IT field. Their team is dedicated to get you trained and into the work force as fast and as smoothly as possible. Huge help with transitioning Military as well. New Horizons is definitely a go to for training.

After my time in Service I didnt really know what to do with myself. New Horizons raeched out to me with this amazing program for transitioning Veterans. Their staff is very friendly and the instructors are extremely knowledgeable. They are also former military so the class environment was familiar and warm for me as a transitioning Soldier. They also offer a lot of assistance with resume building and career placement from entry level jobs to engineering positions all across the United States. I was super impressed with this organization and what they offer. I wish I could give them 10 stars.

The receptionist was truly awesome from checking me in and handing me my passing report. She’s very encouraging, informative and customer oriented. Keep up the great work New Horizons!

(QUESTION) I will be heading here shortly to start training. Do you get paid while being here? Also do you have to pay for anything? This will be my first time going into this type of work. Just recently moved from Virginia and would like so insight knowledge for anyone who is still their.

My life’s drastically changed in a positive way. One that I could’ve never imagined. The team at New Horizons has become sort of like family to me. Justin, Sam, Doug, Hanna, James, Mikayla, everyone there is so willing to help. Its hard not to succeed with such a dedicated and helpful group of professionals!

Ive really enjoyed my time spent at New Horizons. All of the instructors had their own personal quirks and made learning IT enjoyable and you could tell they are very knowledgeable Instructors and not just reading a power point verbatim. The Admissions counselors work hard to help you in any aspect that theyre able to and the jobs placement team helped me land a really solid job near my hometown in Michigan. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.

Hey, my fellow friends if you have the amount of $$$, time and will to learn the material within six months please go ahead and enjoy the ride. Overall, be weary you pay one-year private school tuition for (3) month time-frame of course--material. They will sell you a dream you will reach if you do not work because you need 24/7 to read and study. I will give them a five if they cared about their students academic success from the moment they sell the dream up until one passes the exams-- 6-month time frame; otherwise, you will be lost and alone once you take the course.

New Horizons is a great place to go for training. My experience with New Horizons was very good. I attended New Horizons for the A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco and Microsoft courses. Overall, everyone had a good attitude and were very helpful. The instructors showed both textbook and real world scenarios. They made sure you understood and reviewed areas of instruction if you asked them. The staff assisted with everything that I needed such as financing, study rooms/tutoring, administrative paperwork, testing and up coming courses. My counselor, Morgan, even called several times to inquire how I was doing and gave updates to events that were forth coming.As a testing site, New Horizons was more than accommodating. Far from the horror stories Ive heard, everyone that I came across before taking my test said good luck.Coming from a logistics background, it is my belief that attending New Horizons will catapult me into a better than entry-level position in IT. I would recommend New Horizons to other people and would also attend another training session with them.And yes ... the cookies were good too.

New to the IT world this program was extremely helpful. It was not easy, you have to be able to invest a lot of time studying and doing your part in order to succeed, but thats expected. The staff and instructors great and very helpful. Doug Lewis, Justin Lancaster, Sam Lee, Tarik are just a few of the people I was able to work with. I am so glad I was able to join this program.

Great center, the instructors are well versed in all material and provide real life experiences to relate. Having an instructor in the room really helped me learn the knowledge and achieve all I hoped! Definitely recommend, especially if completely new to IT like I was.

I got a call from Suzie inquiring about the classes they offer. She was very polite and helpful. They have made the process so easy to sign up for classes! I am very excited to be able to have this opportunity considering they didnt offer many classes like these since Ive been in the army. I appreciate what theyre doing and if youre in the IT world like I am, I would highly recommend this institution!

9 weeks for 11.3 months of your G.I. Bill is not worth it! Please remember, they are salesmen promoting a product. They told us because they bill the VA every week you get paid every week, not true! You are unable to maximize your BAH benefit if you attend this school. I wouldnt recommend this school to anyone, choose wisely.

The Timex of testing..its always the same but the staff today was amazing.

I am a Vet that went through New Horizons to get my certifications. They are AWESOME! The training is tough, but they offer free repeats. Many of the instructors and staff are Vets and they know this stuff! They assigned me an advisor named Grace and she is great. AnnMarie helped me pass the tests. James set me up with employment and he is still setting me up on interviews to help me get into a better career. IT was new to me and without New Horizons it would have been tough. I highly recommend!

Im a veteran and I took several courses there before I got out of the military. The course load is gr8, the books are all online and the instructors I had were extremely knowledgeable. Vince Phifer the management and course supervisor was extremely helpful in making sure all my financial aid was taken care of expeditiously and that I got into class on time. I didnt have a single problem with the organization and would recommend to anyone! I got certified in Security+CE and Windows Server 2016.

Went from having no experience with Cisco certifications to passing CCNA in three months. Wonderful instructors, extremely knowledgeable. Much different than the other programs in the area that are a week long crash course, followed by a Study this test bank and take the test, Good luck.I wholeheartedly recommend checking them out if youre looking for the knowledge to get a certification the right way.

I separated in 2011 and since then have been working food and customer service. I came to New Horizons because I needed to get out of these jobs and actually start a career. Their instructors were great, their career services department got me lined up with work. Im almost done with classes now and I finally have direction again. Thanks James!

IF YOU ARE A VETERAN LOOKING TO USE YOUR GI BILL, DO NOT GO HERE. Absolutely not worth 11.3 months of your GI bill for a 9 week course. There are free courses on YouTube that will prepare you better than this school. Its a shame that the VA certifies places like this...

I have nothing but good things to say about New Horizons of Jacksonville. I’ve taken two Cisco courses and received the best support from the staff as far as getting enrolled and ensuring that I have everything I need to be successful in the course. The instructors were helpful and kept the classes interesting. I would recommend New Horizons of Jacksonville for any type of IT training you are seeking!

An expensive, braindump. Get any study guide and a good IT friend and you will get the same level of training. Mostly GI Bill chasers.Clean facility and decent class rooms. Instructors know the material ( this is definitely a plus). However it ends there.Former student

New Horizons has been instrumental in helping me grow my IT career. Ive taken several classes and certification exams there. The curriculum and labs are state of the art, and the staff is top notch. Awesome experience here. The staff and the instructors are always friendly and care about your success. I was able to get my Net+ and Sec+ and even was given fresh made cookies each day!

Went here for an interview/appointment with a young lady who was very nice and professional. I have had several friends go here and basically stated they (the agency) did assist them in finding employment but also stated they were more interested in running through your GI BILL benefits. The appointment went well and I gathered the information I needed and politely stated to the young lady right now I am not looking for employment (currently have jobs that pay more than entry level computer jobs). She understood and stated if I changed my mind to call them back. So about a week later I get a call from her supervisor and I tried to tell him the same thing and his attitude became very nasty and hostile over the phone. Some people here become very upset and hostile if you are NOT buying what they are offering, proceed with extreme caution and enter at your own risk.

I love my experience at New Horizons. The staff was really good. I was able to get a lot of help with job placement.

Overpriced GI bill chasers. They offered a package deal of classes that would take $23500 out of my Post 9/11 GI bill. Basically the maximum they can take from the GI bill per year. Some of those classes were not needed. You can study free material online and take each test for $200 or $300 per test. I asked for just the network, security, and compita A+ which would have been much cheaper. They told me no and I have to buy the package deal. Your GI bill will reimburse you for the $300 you spend on the test if you do it yourself by the way.

New Horizons is amazing! Everyone there is very pleasant to talk to and has a genuine concern for your success in the program. I highly recommend them 👍.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are I ethical and crooked. Do not use them, go elsewhere. They told me to wait on getting exam voucher without indicating a timeframe, then say that the “program has expired”. Find another source for certification training.

My experience at New Horizons has been amazing from the friendly and easygoing staff to the many benefits they offer such as being able repeat courses for free if you feel you need to. Definitely a great school to attend if youre looking for a career in the IT field.

Took a Microsoft 20-414 class here Live online. I enjoyed the instructor and the virtual machine environment. Virtual Labs gave a lot of practice and information to take back to my job and help with the certification exams.

From the get go it is straight, non-stop learning the world of IT. I have the package of A+, Net+, Sec+, MTA, ITIL, and CCNA (ICND 1 & 2). Great experience, instructors are knowledgeable/ Been in the field 10+ years, so far. Awesome people, if I were to work with/for these people in the future I know it will be great. What a concern would be is the VA and being payed your BAH on time or when expected but that has nothing to do with this company.

The people and experience at this place is beyond amazing. Deciding to get my certifications was the best choice of my life so far and I am so lucky to have found New Horizons!

The class was ok. The professor had a habit of saying right on or giddy up after every other sentence. It was quite annoying. The book wasnt very good that came with the class. I got better one off Amazon. They charged extra money for practice exams which should come with the tuition. The tests came from a 3rd party vendor (Transcender) and were essentially useless. Once you pay your money and take class, New Horizons offers no support. They should maybe offer tutoring services through the professor. At least they should provide a location to study for the actual exam. All in all a bad experience and will not use them for training ever again. Caveat Emptor!

I am studying at New Horizons Computer Learning center to get my A+, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft MCP & MCSA certifications. I believe that getting these computer certifications will be a boost to my IT career. After many years in the industry, I think it’s important to have the certifications to show prospective employers that I have the credentials and expertise to do the work needed. NHCL has a great placement program with in roads to many top companies in the Jacksonville area. Everyone I have met so far at NHCL has been very friendly and professional. I am looking forward to completing my classes and passing the certification exams with the help of the NHCL team!
