UMBC Training Center is FANTASTIC! Partnering with them from the start was a breeze. The team knows what they are doing. I would highly recommend UMBC training center to anyone who is looking for effective training for their employers. The staff and professors are very knowledgeable and friendly. I can’t wait to continue partnering with them for my future needs!

UMBC Training Centers is terrific. Ive done at least a dozen networking/professional development events here in the last 9 months. The space is great, the coffee is free, the people are wonderful--what more could you ask for? Very impressed with the experience and think you will be too. Also, at the time of this writing, they do free monthly happy hours (called BREW) with talks on an interesting tech/cyber-related topic.

This was the worst experience of my life and a Total waste of 5200. We had a totalOf 5 instructions spanning over the entire program. The first instructor Mr.O was fabulous he became ill and was haphazardly replaced with a person who read from the book verbatim and slides. No instructions with labs which is some thing you need to pass any COMP TIA exam. When we complain was told everyone has a different learning and teaching style. Needless to say only twoPeople out of a class of 20 took the A+ exam. Next was network that was even worst again instructor who wasn’t prepare arrived late read from books and slides. No lab instructions only two ppl attempted the Network test to date. Security class begin the same which finally lead to a visit from the program coordinator whom we have been emailing The Who program. The class was slated to receive an refund for the Network portion which in my case begin another horrible interaction with UMBC training center. This program leadershipAnd I use that term loosely has an issue with communication and vetting of qualified instructors. It has been proved this cohort that their isn’t any back upPlans when a qualified instructor is not longer available. It seems we were stuck with anyone with a comp Tia certification begins there name. Don’t waste your time nor your money this same training is free online at varies sites. Which myself and other classmates had to use in order to make heads or tails of the material..SignedDisappointed, Student

For the $5,500 I paid for the “cyber foundations” course, I would have much rather spent a 10th of that on study guides and taught myself. I only signed up for their “apprenticeship program” in order to get into IT and cyber security, and was told by the counselors and advisors that the “apprenticeship program” and their $20,000 CCA/O course were two completely separate things. Much to my surprise when I find out 2/3rds Of the way through the program that they are intact the same thing and you are required to pay out of pocket for the “apprenticeship.” If I had known this were the case from the beginning, I would have gladly bought my own study materials online and saved thousands of dollars. I’m quite literally furious, and have received basically zero help from any of the faculty in regards to this. So at the end of the day, I’m out $5,500, received 3 absolutely worthless pieces of paper, and I’m no closer to starting a career in IT or Cyber than I was a year ago. Thanks for wasting vast amounts of my time and money UMBC

Their CCNA course is good for those who want a review or are new to the industry, but it does not prepare you for the test. Not by a long-shot. For that youll still need extensive self-study with the Lammle study guide, which is included in your course materials.
