A paint-your-own pottery shop with a variety of pottery pieces and colors to choose from. The staff member was very friendly! She gave us good brief instructions; how much coats of paint are recommend and how to add texture to our pieces if we desired. The paint you put on the pottery won’t be the same intensity of the color after it is glazed by the staff member and put in the kiln; a final, post-kiln color reference is available to look at! There is an $8 fee for using the paints per person. Check out the website before you visit! Overall happy! As an update, I visited in August 2020, and the staff wears masks and follows physical distancing guidelines.

My significant other and I came in for his birthday and had a blast! The staff member walked us through some unique painting processes for the pieces we chose while we sipped on some wine. Friendly atmosphere, accommodating staff, interesting pieces to choose from - Id say one of the better places in Columbus for pottery painting.

It was a very welcoming environment. Ill add that I thought we were going to use clay to make our own project. We painted...but it was still enjoyable.

I came here with my sister and we both had a very good time. The staff were friendly and also very informative. I painted a ring holder and it came out well. They mention to only apply two coats of paint, however I do advise to apply more than two coats (that’s how I got my nice pastel color). It takes about a week to get your piece so you have to wait for the finished product.

Our experience painting was great! Good selection and fair pricing. The live musician was great too! The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is due to the attitude of the staff - Im definitely not an experienced painter and the instructions during the process were a bit condescending and the attitude at pickup was snarky.

While visiting from out of state my 6yo grandson and I popped in for some special time together. Staff was GREAT: polite, considerate, knowledgeable, helpful, and patient with both of us. A bit pricey for an unplanned adventure but we made wonderful memories and will now have momentos of the occasion as well. Love the relaxed atmosphere!

Ask for the prices ahead of time. Very opaque pricing and do the math in your ahead separate of what the person charges at the register. We were overcharged by $10.

Company does not provide wrapping or bags for finished pottery. I would recommend bringing your own. The lid (which was on backward) of my daughters piece slid off and broke on the floor of the store. Although the owner kindly offered a full refund and a chance to remake it for free, the incident could have easily been avoided by a simple bag.

This is an awesome place to make something special. They have a wide variety of pottery and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing...but space is somewhat limited, the only thing I would change is a possible expansion of room they have. The only other thing is the prices..some pieces are a bit over priced..but I understand they are a small business trying to get bigger over time. If you want to make something of importance, instead of buying something off a store shelf..THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

I came here and I wanted to have fun. My mother and I came here after discovering Color Your World at Easton had been bought out. It was a late Friday night, and we had spent the day running errands. I was looking to make a birthday gift for my aunt. The lady behind the counter, the only individual who I could readily see as an employee, was curt and short. I chalked it up to a bad day, or the fact she seemed a little overworked. Besides us at the time, there were nine other people either already painting or looking for a piece of pottery. After she introduced us to what we could do, she went off to handle the couple who came in after us. Alright, the staff wasnt very nice, but we didnt let that bother us. It was likely nothing personal. The atmosphere of the place was very nice. Its the epitome of a distracted artist: a little disorganized, but very relaxed. There were plenty of colors and a nice selection of pieces to paint. After we bought some soda, we had a very nice time painting our pieces and making light conversation. Were the last to leave, a few minutes before closing, but we were good customers and we cleaned up our mess. We put our pottery on the shelf and left.Come the day to pick up pottery. I quickly stop in and take what belongs to my mother and me out to my car. There, I pause to take a look before I leave. Paint which I did not put on there and which was not there when I had left before had been fired and glazed onto my bowl. Blue splatter, as well as a large spot of blue, had been permanently left on my work. Ive been to places that do this sort of work before. Generally, they arent supposed to add onto what you made yourself. My mothers bowl was fine, but mine was a right mess.I was disappointed my hard work was messed up. If I had done my piece earlier in the day, I would have said someone else who put their work on the shelf must have made a mistake, but that was not the case.I will not be coming back.

I had part of my bachelorette party here and it was really awesome! All the staff were super friendly and we were able to bring cupcakes and drinks to enjoy while we painted. There was enough space for a a group of our size and the staff was very clear explaining and helping us do our pottery. When all was said and done I got a really nice tray made from the tiles all of my friends painted for me. Really wonderful gift!

The lady that runs this place is completely unprofessional and rude!! I am soooo sorrry I ever tried to spend money at your business! First of all I was looking for a specific piece of pottery to paint. When I called and asked for this piece she was quite rude with me on the phone and told me they did not carry it. I went on to purchase the piece online and I called her to ask if I could bring my piece in to paint and fire there and was absolutely willing to pay for this service. This is exactly what she said to me, Yeahh we dont do that here, we have plenty of pieces here you are welcome to come in and paint in the most rude tone ever and then hung up on me! I couldnt even believe it. Its not like i was asking to come paint it for free! And they did not have the piece I wanted in stock or I would have purchased it there!! HAVE FUN GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

WOW! I would NEVER do business at this place! I had a friend coming in for the weekend and purchased two groupons to clay cafe. I looked EVERYWHERE and there is not a spot on the groupon that states reservations must be made. I purchased 2 groupons and attempted to call the business the following day to confirm that you did not need an appointment. The first 2 hours the phone rang busy. When I finally got ahold of someone, a lady very harshly answered the phone with Hello. No introduction- NOTHING. I asked if it was clay cafe and she just HUNG UP the phone. I called back and even more impatiently she answered HELLO I explained that I had purchased a groupon for my friend coming in that weekend and wanted to confirm that we did not need to make reservations. She chuckled and in a VERY rude tone said Uh, yes you need reservations and you wont be getting any this weekend- we are full. Youll have to figure out another time. I explained my disappointment because i did not see on groupon where it said requires reservations and in an even ruder tone she said i clearly did not read the fine print. Due to her extremely poor attitude, I told her I would just contact groupon for a refund. She then explained that wasnt going to happen because groupon has poor customer service and shes been trying to contact them all day and then said sooooooo good luck with that one. and just hung up the phone on me after saying she didnt have time for this THANKFULLY, I contacted groupon immediately after that phone conversation and they issued me a refund on the spot. It honestly was not that big of a deal, i would have kept the groupon and gone some other time (I knew it was probably a REALLY busy weekend- valentines day) but this lady was so RUDE that I could never in a million years justify spending money at her business. I was really disappointed because it looked like such a cute, unique place. Being in the medical field, I really value customer service. I understand having a bad day (been there) but you just dont treat people like that! This really left a terrible taste in my mouth in regards to my feelings on this business. As others have mentioned, Good luck staying in business!
