Pretty disappointed...I signed my son up for a class that was in his age range, he was at the minimum age, but he has cooked with me since he was 3 years old so I thought it would be good for him. I took him there, but they barely let him participate at all because they said he was too young. He is in the age range for the class, so I was very discouraged that they didnt even give him a chance. He enjoyed eating the food, but he really was looking forward to actually cooking outside of our kitchen. I just feel like if they didnt want kids his age in the class they shouldnt allow them to sign up and waste their time and money. We both walked away very disappointed.

One thing I’ll say is they have a super fun atmosphere! It’s a great date night spot, and I might try to get a group together to go back soon! Recommend to anyone that likes to try new things!!

WOW!!!!! These ladies are running an amazing cooking experience here! We just had our kid’s birthday party at Young Chefs in Gahanna and we couldn’t be more impressed. From the first phone call inquiry to leaving the party, they were on top of every detail! We have NEVER had such a seamless, stress free, and SUPER FUN birthday! The overall customer service they provide is unparalleled!!! 14 x 5-6 year olds sat in their seats for 90 min with no complaints and only laughter and smiles!

Our girl scout troop completed a badge here as one of their offered field trips. It was fun and the girls got to make 4 different dishes in 2 hours, which was (surprisingly) plenty of time to get everything done. They tasted everything, took home the recipes, and received a certificate. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is that they all shared in making 1 version of the recipe, they took turns stirring, adding ingredients etc. We thought (in part because of the price) they would each be able to make their own little dish. There was a lot of down time and waiting around, luckily our girls are patient and kind so they didnt make a fuss :)

Young Chefs Academy is my sons favorite go-to place whenever we have a period of time coming up with nothing going on. He is always involved in sports, so its nice to break away from that & get him into his other love--cooking!The staff is fantastic & always willing to accommodate any last minute efforts to attend a class. Every interaction I have had with the wonderful crew there has been a positive one. It never ceases to amaze me that they always know my sons name, even after not having been there for a few months. My husband & I attended one of their adult-only cooking classes as a date night & had a ball. We brought our own adult beverages in & got to know some really cool people. I recommend Young Chefs Academy to everyone I meet.

We had a very mixed experience. We LOVED the concept, and we really liked the atmosphere. However, they almost ruined the experience for us by their obsession of allotted time and an employee that really should not be working in a kid-oriented business. When I made the reservation, they did not mention you have a 30-45 mins to make your gingerbread house, but okay, we would deal with it. We were a bit surprised by that amount of time based on paying $80, but we were doing something special with our grandkids, so we just enjoy and not focus on the time. They tell you they are there to help, and then, the young girl who obviously never worked with kids or families, told us on three occasions that she would get our requested items (they have to hand you items for your houses, you cannot get them yourselves) when she was done filling her containers. We always had to retrieve her, she did not proactively offer help. The older woman was more suited for the business and helping, but she had other responsibilities. But, the worse part for us, is that this young employee was pretty harsh... she told my grandson to chill (he was simply excited, and she also told him that shed listen to him if hed stop whining. WHAT?!?! He was definitely not whining, but he was pretty happy asking about the different candies. There was nothing but excitement and requests going on, but she did not know how to respond to families or kids and their excitement for craft/holiday/party stuff. We were shocked... and then to top off this. She did a countdown, which was both annoying and frustrating. Okay, fifteen mins left, okay, we can tell time, and thats weird to announce the time to us... then again TEN MINUTES! .... and again, EIGHT MINUTES TO GO! ... ohmy gosh again...You only have FIVE MINUTES LEFT! ... and then, TIMES UP!
