I went to this school for 5 years and it is a pretty good school half the teachers are nice and half are a lil mean but it was kinda good they just need to do something about kids getting bullied, and one teacher (not saying names) told me to work out a problem and she started rushing me as I was trying my best to do it and that’s what made me not like that school as much. But other than that its a pretty good magnet school, and is told to be the cleanest school in our district but yea. And art class is usually always very chaotic. :)

My son has went to this school for his full 5yrs of elementary. He has always seem to amaze me over the years even with it being a struggle with his education. The teachers grew to know him outside of just being a student at the school, they got to know him for who he really was. They pushed him to his full potential, he has this one particular teacher that still reaches out to check on him. #GreatSchool

I went to dema for 4 years and in loved everyone there. My teacher was Mrs. Parker and yea Dema is amazing and because of them I am at a 9 grade level of math but i amvin 6 grade. And think about the school itself and the teachers not the way that the students act. Thank u

Worst school I have ever had the misfortune to send my children to. Racism and bullying is an everyday part of life amongst the students, and accepted by the educators. My sons 3rd grade teacher (Mrs. Miller) has effectively made my son hate school and want to be home schooled. She mis-grades his work, and when asked to re-evalutate his work, she declines without exhausting all viable options. The admin, educators, staff, protect each other without concern for what is in the students best interest. When I asked for assistance to help me brainstorm possible solutions the answer was I cant get involved.I had similar problems with the school last, and am still trying to find another school for my children.Worst excuse for educators I have ever seen.

My son attended D.E.M.A for 7 years and it was not only an educationally rewarding experience for him but for my entire family as well. I was involved in the PTA and other areas of the school life and the general vibe and interaction with the faculty and staff was great. He had excellent teachers from PRE K right up to 5th Grade and he was involved in the Show Choir, Science Olympiad and Safety Patrol. I just want to thank DOWNTOWN ELEMENTARY for this experience. He now attends Middle School and because he has had a solid foundation at D.E.M.A he continues to do well overall. I just read another review posted right here on D.E.M.A and I quite understand that every student, every parent, will have varying experiences. Yes, there are times of frustration and some parents might have difficult experiences with different teachers; however, lets look at the overall picture and not based our opinions on unpleasant circumstances we may have experienced. I recently had a difficult experience with a certain bank here in Columbus with a particular employee (Supervisor) who works there but that doesnt cloud my overall rating and perspective of this bank……just saying !!! Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy is on overall good school.c
