My son goes to this school and compared too all the other schools in Columbus, its nice. But people here get offended by everything, the theater teacher always chooses the same students for theater performances and never lets anyone else get a chance to have a lead role, they dont have a gym and its hard for my son to get a PE credit. But other than all those bad things there some great things as well such as, nice teachers and a very wonderful art program!!!!!!!

From looking at the school from the pictures online, and reading up on the information; Ive come to the conclusion that this might be the school for me. I highly recommend sending other children like me so that they can get a better education that could soon lead them onto college.I give the school a five star.

This is an amazing school to be at. It has a wonderful staff that help out the students, not just with school work, but also College Credits, grads, getting in to the college you want and what fits best for you, as well as things that my being going on in your home life. The friends you make there will be the people that will end up becoming your family. Like family sometimes you argue and have a little bit of drama, but in the end you all love each other and have loads of amazing fun with each other. I wouldnt change the experience I had there for anything in the world.-Love you ACPATerra

ACPA is definitely been life changing for my son. While the school is NOT for everyone, and some people dont know how to take this type of non traditional environment, for us it was a blessing. My son (who is gay, does make up, is an actor, and a fashion designer) hated going to his home school. He would cry, beg to stay home and was borderline failing everything due to the bullying he dealt with every day for being different. At ACPA they teach kids that they are perfect JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. They foster self love and acceptance and a learning environment that caters to each childs individual need and passion. Like I said, it is not for everyone, but it was the perfect choice for us. My son is a senior who is happy, thriving, doing well in school, and feels good about who he is, and I could NEVER ask for more than that

What once was a reputable, desirable, great school with an environment condusive to learning, growth and acceptance, regardless of race/social status or sexual orientation is now a school the breeds Hetero phobia. This school has been deemed The Gay School in Columbus and the owner, herself, is gay and while none of that is a problem it is a problem when the kids are outcast for NOT being gay. This place used to have a stringent screening process. Today, anyone can get in. They are in pursuit of raising their numbers in order to get more funding-its that simple. The work load is rigorous and they do tell you that up front. Believe it.The peer pressure to be gay is astronomical. The children are allowed to walk around barefoot. The teachers are nothing short of hubris and the hatred/harassment/bullying in this school is the same as every other school, although they boast a zero tolerance policy for this type of behavior. My child went here (after we had to practically BEG to get in) for a few weeks, at which point she said she wanted to kill herself b/c of the pressure to be gay. While I salute the openness of sexual preference in life (be who you are!), I think this school is fostering a need breed of hubris little haters. The drop out rate is on the rise, dear owner. What will you do to render that?Homeschooling: The way of the future?ACPA=2 out of 5 stars. 2 as opposed to 1 because the owner is hard working, I just think she has bitten off more than she can chew. Its that simple.

Not a very good school at all, if you can have a B with only a 73% you arent accomplishing anything thats regularly a C in most high schools, on top of that students carry Teddy Bears, and are offended by the slightest joke. Even worse you will get kicked out for slight joking around. What a joke this school is, I cant recommend to anyone.

This school has literally changed my entire family. What started as an environment to foster my daughters artistic abilities while maintaining a rigorous academic schedule has led to a creative, supportive, loving place for our family as a whole. Yes, it is a safe school and while a lot of focus is put on the LGBTQ side of things, it is a safe school for everyone. The culture of this school is one that states quite simply...Make it Happen. Meaning you as a student are in charge of your education. If you want to learn more about a topic, you can make a workshop. The entire staff encourages accountability and leadership in every student.Yes, there have been some growing pains during the last year. But when a school is doing this well, people take notice and want to learn from them. Therefore, ACPA is getting National attention and is growing. There is good and bad to that. But I think the good far out weighs the bad. Look at any typical neighborhood school...then look at ACPA. Youll be amazed. We were on the tour, and three years later we still are. Amazing staff, Amazingly talented kids. Changing lives in a creative, safe environment while challenging them to strive for academic excellence. We couldnt ask for more. Well, maybe we could ask for more funding. We could definitely ask for that.
