My children have been going to this school system for 4 years. There is so much that I love about this school. The teachers have been amazing advocates for their education. The office staff has been really wonderful and helpful too. Any questions or concerns i have they address them right away. I have an up in coming kindergarten and I know he is going to be in great hands.

We love CCA! They are very friendly, informative and care about each student. They take the time to get to know the kids and families. Each teacher knows each student, no matter what grade they’re in. My youngest has a learning disability and they treat her no different and she loves them!!

This has always been a safe and nurturing school for my kids. We have been here since the doors opened over 7 years ago. My oldest graduated this year. Next year the k-12 environment will be great to foster community and build leadership in older students.

We have been happy at CCA. Our son has been attending since he was in Kindergarten and he is now in 2nd grade. He receives the extra services that are available and we have seen growth. The growth is test scores going up but more importantly, him coming out of his safe zone and participating in events he has never participated in before. We will be back for his 3rd grade year and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

Amazing and caring atmosphere! At this school year’s trunk or treat, my daughter was dressed as Vampirina and without telling me she was expecting her teacher, Ms. Ussery, to be there. When we walked through and collected all the candy she could, she cried. I asked what was wrong and she said “I really wanted to see my teacher!” At that moment, I realized how much of an impact the teachers make and I knew it was the right place for her. Thank You Cabarrus Charter!Update: I emailed a picture of her costume to her teacher and she was happy.

As someone who attended this school in the 2016-2017 school year, and has since graduated (but not from here) I can confirm this is the worst school I have ever gone to. The administrators were all a bit off. I had some excellent teachers (Mr. George, Mr. Furlough) but the teachers hands were constantly tied with the poor decisions made by the administration. Some staff I have no idea how they got hired though so its an extremely mixed bag of the worst and best teachers Ive ever had. It was certainly an experience going here, I made some nice friends, but it definitely opened my eyes on what bad management can lead to and allowed me to learn (the hard way) what to avoid when looking for jobs.

I have had the amazing opportunity to serve as both a teacher and parent at CCA for 6 years now. It has had it’s ups and down but this year has been amazing. Our new administration team has empowered teachers and staff in a way that encourages us to do our best. They are supportive and helpful and it shows in both the morale and culture of the building. It’s only going to continue to be better from here.

This is my second year as a teacher at the Lower School. Yes, there may have been challenges in the past. However, challenges CAN BE overcome and valuable lessons are learned in the process! The key word is process! It is only through the process of transformation that progress can occur. There can be no lasting change without the experience of challenge! From a caterpillar to a butterfly......so it is with Cabarrus Charter Academy!!!🦋I would send my grandchildren here if offered the opportunity to do so!!!

This school has certainly had its struggles in the early years and Ill admit, I was pretty concerned and doubting our decision to move our son here last year. Then along came Ms. Hampton, the new principal and she is turning things around in a wonderful and sustainable manner. Its apparent in the communication, in the teaching staff and with the students excitement for school! If youve ever heard unfortunate feedback about this school, I highly recommend you tour it for yourself now. What CCA was last year, is not what it is today, nor where it is heading!

We have been here for the last 3 years. I have not yet had a teacher that has wowed me. There have been teachers that know a childs fear and I have seen them first hand use that for intimidation to a child. My child even came home one time in the past year and told me that the teacher took another students desk and threw it across the room and screamed at them. That same teacher had slammed her fists on a students desk and said Jesus Christ can you ever just listen to meMy childs current teacher is awful. The lack of communication is disgraceful. You can email them and never get a response but when they email you and you dont respond to them you will get follow up after follow up. My child has breathing issues and has been told that they FAKE couch or that they are only drinking their water to not work. These are supposed to be the adults that these children are supposed to look up to. Role models. They are not someone I would want my child/children to look up to thats for sure. There are a lot of very young teachers so im sure they dont know what its like to be a parent and to have someone speak to your child like they are garbage. If they did maybe they wouldnt speak the way they do to these kids. There have been so many parents that have pulled their children out because of the teacher and how they have treated their child. I have volunteered at lunch and I have heard how some of these teachers speak to the kids. Its just heartbreaking to see a young childs face turn red with embarrassment or to see the sadness and hurt. I had to stop going. Now there is a new principal that seems to be really good. However, she has her work cut out for her. There has been so much damage to this school that it is going to take her YEARS to get it on the right track and to get the best teachers she can. I honestly think she has the children and schools best interest at heart. I wish her all the best.Even thought I really like her we will NOT be going back. I would rather put my children in school with a 3 rating for a year until I can find a better option than to return to CCA.

The principal is awful, he doesnt care about the parents, students or the staff. When you complain to him, he just sits there in silence and then never does anything about your complaint. They have a fundraiser seems like every week and sometimes they tell the kids to bring it to parents to guilt them into participating. The teachers dont communicate at all, no emails , newsletters, phone calls, absolutely nothing. Some of the staff members are rude and a uniform will run you 40 dollars a piece. They are strict on respect and good behavior, but as far as academics, forget about it. They dont give homework, the lower grades dont have books, just worksheets. You never get to see what the kids are working on, they dont let you go to the classrooms to ask the teacher a question before or after class. You have to schedule a conference or send an email, that wont get a reply. No lockers, kids have to carry all their stuff while they switch classes. This school is a ripoff to tax payers and parents. Dont believe these people that are leaving good reviews for 2016, they are probably staff members. They are good for speaking highly of a school that dont give them any problems because they are co-workers with the teachers. Cabarrus Charter is a huge waste of time and money. In the midst of weekly (I am not exaggerating) solicitations for money, the teachers ask for supplies for the classrooms. The same teachers who dont communicate. All expenses are past to the parents, in exchanged for mediocre education. Dont waste your time, your better off staying at your district school. Dont be like me, I read all these reviews and said I would see for myself. Boy do I regret making that choice, because now my children have friends and I have to uproot them. Oh, one more thing, they put on cartoons in school at the end of the day. So if you are a parent who doesnt want your child watching Shrek, Charlie Brown, or tv during the week, stay away.

My child has been at Cabarrus Charter Academy since it opened in 2013 for her 6th grade year. She is now at the Upper School campus in 2018. Middle school years were great with excellent teachers who were motivated and who showed their passion for teaching. CCA offers the Cambridge International Program for more challenging curriculum if interested and introduces them to community outreach events events. Even with the expected ups and downs of a brand new school, middle school was a great experience! In 2016-2017, the school experienced changes in principal and administrative staff. This made for its challenges, but the principal who entered the Upper School in late spring of 2017, made great improvements and strides as the 2017-2018 school year started! My daughter prefers the smaller classroom size, focus of the teachers and the community-type of environment. She does not want to go anywhere else and has been very happy af CCA! Her grades/scores are fantastic and she does not feel the stress or peer pressure that is often felt at larger, public schools. Our priorities since entering CCA have always been her safety (safe environment) and of course, her education/curriculum. CCA has always covered both of these needs and both student and parent are happy!!

This school is the worse place you could send your child! My child went to the upper school for the eighth grade and didnt have a math teacher for the longest while, because the original teacher got pregnant! And by far the worse part, is that the teacher was later replaced with an ELA teacher who didnt know what he was doing! DONT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!
