Following my retirement from a 40 year dental career, I decided to pursue my real estate license here in New Hampshire. After having researched numerous courses, I chose Barry School of Real Estate and am glad I did.Jim and Susan have created an entertaining and expertly designed course of study. If I dont manage to pass the exam after taking the classes with them, it wont be for their lack of trying. Jim wove the necessary information into each 4 hour class while sprinkling in stories of his many experiences in a long and successful career. Those tales served as a wonderful addition, and helped paint a picture of how a career might play out. The information required by the licensing commission is dry and requires a lot of memorization, but with their combined expertise, advice and care I couldnt have asked for a better preparation for obtaining my license to practice real estate.

Great online classes - JB made the classes entertaining and shared many life experiences along the way he did not read word to word from the book which I can find boring. Very professional and made the time fly by. Not easy doing online Zoom classes but we all made the best of it. I am sure in person would have been even more fun to get to know you fellow students and teachers. Thank you!

Dont recommend. I recently finished this course and regretted it by the first class. I signed up for this class because it had so many reviews... after signing up for the class, the welcome email I received included the following: Like Barry School of Real Estate on facebook and google and receive a special question & answer bank and Send me your reviews or tell me that you have done them, and I will send you some extra NH State questions that are free. If I had known they bribed you to write reviews, I would not have signed up for the class. The class was advertised as the most flexible classes... however they only offer them once a day. They also encourage you to purchase additional books that they have written. I took the zoom classes and maybe a third of the time actually addressed the material in the book... the rest was Jim reliving the glory days and making disparaging, sometimes borderline prejudice comments regarding women, certain nationalities, politicians and lawyers. He talks more about his real estate experience which I dont think will apply to most people in New Hampshire selling or listing properties. Overall, I wish he spent more time addressing material and less time story telling. I know more about his family, properties, and sales than the actual material. I dont know how this guy is even allowed to teach a class. Im going to get additional test prep books to study for this test because the material wasnt taught well.

I just started attenting classes a week ago.I am so happy that i choosed Barry School,the teachers Susan and Jim are doing a great presentation of the material,they simplify it so you can understand it very well.I feel very comfortable asking questions wich is very important.I started loving Real Estate even more!Highly recommending this School and these great people!

PROS: can complete course quickly via Zoom, good test-taking tipsCONS: unorganized, unprofessional, poor communication, technologically challengedJim doesnt teach in any structured way, he pretty much just tells stories. I learned a little from Jim and Susan, but for the most part I had to teach myself the material.One of my biggest problems with Barry School is they bribe you to give them good reviews. So if you give them a good review they will send you X amount of test questions from previous tests.Another issue I had was with some of the comments that Jim makes are unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, there was some sort of a problem nearly every class with Jim and Zoom, he would spend 10-15 minutes just trying to come into the classroom.Once I finished the course, I had to request the course completion affadavit 3 times before Susan finally contacted me. She told me she already sent it to me, but she never did.

Ive truly enjoyed this course. The material is presented in a way that stays with you - stories!Jim is very invested in our success & you both make it easy to complete the class as quickly as wed like to.. Thank you! Melissa M.

The flexibility really sold me when I was looking for classes. I was able to complete the course in only two and a half weeks and feel like I have all the info to pass the test. I have really enjoyed Jim and Susans classes. They offer a variety of times and locations which makes taking the course stress free, and you can take the ten classes in any order! The books and materials offered have made learning and studying very easy....two of the books were even written by Jim and Susan. Their years of experience in all aspects of real estate have made learning more interesting as we have been able to discuss real-life examples of situations in every class. I started this course with some trepidation but it has turned out to be just perfect for my needs. The class is conducted in a relaxed atmosphere and geared toward adult learners. There is plenty of time to explore questions/ideas and learn from other students as well as the teacher. The classroom is comfortable and parking is convenient. The online calendar and flexibility of scheduling makes this school uniquely suited to our busy lives. Highly recommend.

Barry School of Real Estate has the best schedule of all the N.H. real-estate schools. They offer 8 classes per week, so you can very quickly fulfill your 40-hour requirement, and if you have a tight schedule, they offer a lot of flexibility/options to accommodate your life.Sue and Jim are about as nice and experienced as anyone youll meet in the industry. Their students have very high pass rates, which is a reflection of their process and style. I highly recommend this school.

Great classes taught by people who truly want you to not just pass the exam, but also succeed in real estate. I love the small class size. Jim and Susan teach the course and they like to apply their firsthand experiences to the textbook curriculum. A lot of the stuff that they talk about ties in the textbook knowledge to real-life scenarios. The class schedule is also pretty flexible.

I had a great experience taking classes with Susan. The class schedules are so flexible I was able to get them done in 5 weeks. She made me feel much more confident coming out of them than I was going in. I would definitely recommend these classes.

Just finished my 5th class and 2 weeks. The flexibility and number of classes is very beneficial to people with busy schedules. I did some reading at home and a few chapters in the book seemed like foreign language to me (such as how to read a rectangular survey), but Susan made it very clear and easy to understand in class today. The information Susan gives is very helpful.

The Barry School of Real Estate is by far the best NH Pre-licensing course in the state! They provide so much information and resources for studying and exam prep. They work with students individually to help them prepare for the exam and even get a job after they pass! Susan and Jim were great. Love the flexible schedule, you can finish in a week or four months! You can retake a class or two if it doesn’t sink in the first time, which I did with the math class. It was helpful to get the perspective of two different people teaching. Take their recommendations and buy the additional books and online testing!And Jim is freaking HILARIOUS!
