I called and wanted to set everything up and get the process started to get my Class A CDL already have class B. Told me I had to get my background check and driver record and when I sent everything in, I never received a call back nor an email. I called after 2 days and the lady that answered the phone would help me asked who I was working with and whats my name, after telling her who I was and that Kristen Shead is my rep, her response was that she is on the phone and will call you when she can and I got hung up on. Tried calling back and no answer. I tried since Aug 10th, they have my personal information, I had to pay to get this information but I will now have to travel further to a different school.

If I could go lower then I would. I MUST SAY THE COMMUNICATION WAS HORRIBLE. The way they conducted business WAS HORRIBLE .I’ve been interested in this school for the longest to be treated the way I did. As a African American single mother of 6 kids trying to get my cdls, went through the entire process (came in meet with MR T), took a tour of the school, gave all paperwork that was needed. In the initial visit everything went well at least I thought it did . I was giving information on a program that helps you financially with school. Before hand I filled out the application with all my personal information on there so anything health wise was put on there. After my visit I was told to contact KRISTEN SHEAD in which I did. I was told all the information I needed to complete everything for this program that helps you pay for school. I contacted that program went through everything I needed to go through and got approved (month later) I called back to gda to speak with KRISTEN. I’ve called and called and called (left message after message for KRISTEN) she would not return my call now mind your it’s been 1 week and a half. I received a email FROM KRISTEN after all this time yesterday to saying that the program won’t accept my situation (NOT ONE TIME DID SHE CALL) MY SITUATION WAS THE SAME SENSE THE FIRST DAY I CALLED, MY SITUATION WAS ON MY APPLICATION. THIS IS HORRIBLE. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT SOMEONE. I CANT BELIEVE A SCHOOL WOULD DO THIS. They want you to tell the truth and be honest but they don’t. THIS HAVE TO STOP.

Alot of bad reviews and seems hard to work with, I read the review about giving the customer his money back? Why would you hold someone’s money because they did not meet the criteria? And he did not take the course? What gives you the right? That’s a lot of money for the average person, for you to manipulate your contract to keep someone’s money and then make them wait 45 days when you finally give it back! This is exactly why I read reviews and give them as well, I will definitely pass on this one and keep looking. What a disgrace! 😡

I called to get information about admission. I was transferred to a admission recruiter and he was extremely rude. If I’m going to invest $4000 of the my own hard earned money I expect to feel welcomed and treated with respect. Unfortunately I did not get a name but I can say that it was a African American man. Based on my experience with that recruiter I will take my money elsewhere.

I wasn’t accepted into class after I made the required deposit. Once I asked for the refund in June 2020, I was told to wait 45 days. It’s now October 2020 and still have received the refund. The ladies in office stated I haven’t received it because I didn’t submit a withdrawal letter.😳 Something I never knew about!!!.. Now they are stating I have to wait another 45 days for a refund for something that was clearly not stated in the beginning of this process. Otherwise, the letter would have been written in June!! I asked for a corporate number to see if I could speak to management to get resolved but they refuse to give the number. If the local office can’t expedite this to keep a customer satisfied with this experience, then you would think they would allow management to make a better decision over them and refund the fund’s expeditiously!!!... I’m just disgusted and hate being treated unfairly!.. It only took seconds for my money to be taking, but over 4 months and longer for it to be returned?? It’s sad how nobody can do what’s right!! If I could leave less than 1 star, they would have it based solely on the customer service!!

Terrible customer service, Mr. T seemed to be clueless and had to call him repeatedly to get information. Kristen could not explain to me how getting hit by someone else prevents me from getting funding but they would gladly take my cash. Complete waste of my time!!!!REPLY TO RESPONSE FROM OWNER: That may be pertinent if I was deficient in any of those areas but I was not. I was told I didnt qualify because of 2 accidents I had that were not my fault and I provided both police reports as proof. Just to be sure I applied to several trucking companies to see if I met their hiring requirements and I was approved by them all. Get a placement director who knows what they are talking about because obviously yours does not. I also noticed you did not address your terrible customer service, must be business as usual.

Very Unorganized. Not worth your money. Go to Dalys instead. Has fallen off over the years and not what they used to be. Needs new leadership/management team to turn company around. Not enough instructors- who have a high turnover rate here. Giving them a rating of 1 star is giving them too much credit which they do not deserve. Should be reported for how things are ran there. Just passing along a honest review so no one else will have to go through what I went through. If you do choose to do business with them, PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Youve been warned!RESPONSE TO OWNER:Yes, I understand your company may have well graduated over 10K + students over the years. However, that is not the issue here. The point is that your company is not what it was years ago.Now I was trying not to air all of your dirty laundries but when you make the statement “we know truck driving school is not for everyone. Our Class A Program is very comprehensive, and unfortunately, not everyone is successful in completing the program. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors”, you’re trying to place blame on me and instead of taking accountability for how things are being run, you’re blaming the consumer?Let’s be honest, the school director there, Brad Barber broke the law in administering drug tests, not wearing any gloves I may add. A nurse or doctor should have conducted the drug test, either the students should have physically gone to a testing site, or A nurse or doctor should have come to the school to administer the drug testing. Which I didnt even know this was illegal until a reputable source told me. Mr. Barber is very respectful and such a nice guy. The issues are not directed to him personally because everyone has a boss higher than them. My concern is how the school is running. Lost drug samples are unacceptable. Now lets address the class sizes and the instructor ratio. Not sure about you, but how can one instructor have eyes on all 12 students at once? The trucks in your yard there are not adequately functional. The steering wheel comes off while driving, they have 1 tire on the Drive axles which should be two on each drive - dual tires. A total of 4 on the drives, which should be 8. Barely any tread on the tires. Not a paved lot, the tires continuously get stuck in the dirt. The online training that the school has is a joke and needs revamping. If a student finishes the online training a few days early, the student should be allowed to observe the yard week’s class. The students that attended the first week in the classroom, get to start ahead on the next week’s yard class. This is unfair because when its time to master the maneuvers, some students are ahead because theyve had the additional time to do so.The building needs some renovation. Possible dead rat in the ceiling, ants everywhere. When instructors call out from work, there are no contingency plans in place. Students are told to go to their training stations. However, one instructor cannot have eyes on a group of 12 at once. There should be at least 4 students per instructor at different stations instead of ”entrusting each student knows what theyre doing.” How can someone learn properly if theres no one there to critique the students, watching their every move?Maybe when an instructor calls out, someone from one of the front offices of the building thats been a trainer should step in and train. After all, its not the students’ fault that an instructor called out sick. The training is already an accelerated program as is so each second out the day a student should be productive. Which brings me to their ”student schedules.” Theyre not always followed. Ok, I think Ive mentioned enough of the issues. I know this is VERY LONG, but the response from the owner should NOT have blamed the consumer for THEIR mishaps and infractions.PICTURE TIME! The proof is in the pudding. I wouldnt have time to take pics if I was being productive in your so called very comprehensive program.

I used to have a five star rating for this company because I did my CDL training with them. I called today to ask some questions and pay for some additional training. The lady that answered the phone, who is the daughter of the owner, was so rude. She refused to transfer me to speak to one of the managers, his name is Arnold, and hung up on me when asked to speak to Arnold. I just wanted to consult with him to make a decision. She did not want to help at all, and she wanted to dictate what I needed to do with my money. I was shocked to be treated so rudely. I would no longer recommend this place to anyone. If you want to get your CDL, do not come here unless it is free. Stay AWAY!

I got my Class A CDL in three weeks at GDA! The first week, they prepped me for my permit; second week, I learned about the trucks and performed DOT maneuvers; the third week was driving a 10-speed, 53 tractor trailer on public roads. The instructors are the bomb! Their mastery of academic and real-world experience was invaluable during training. Heres my advice to incoming students: do the exercises EXACTLY as the instructors teach it to you and put in the work. This course packs a lot in a short amount of time; they know what theyre doing. The hardest part of my three weeks was making a decision on which company to work for. I had at least ten job offers before I finished training! Good luck.

If I can give this place a zero I would . Sharon is the most rudest person in this facility and doesn’t know anything about customer service. I was an inquiring student at the school and I had gotten a new ticket which we stated It was 14 mph under the limit . Georgia code 40-6-181 states that tickets or citations under 14 mph and under are not reported to driving record if driver has class c license from the state of Georgia .. she stated my ticket was going to be a problem which most companies hire if you have no more than 3 moving violations in 3 years . She was rude and lack empathy for that fact I was devastated that I received a ticket . Mr. T and the front desk lady is cool but Sharon is bitter and miserable and will definitely turn anyone off from attending this school. I would love to attend this school but all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch . Unfortunately, Sharon was the bad apple of this company when I asked her a simple question . She responded with an agitated tone and I asked her why is she responding to me like this and she said because I kept asking the same question . I didn’t ask the same question I was letting her know the information I received from the county of clerk was valid and she stated that she seen many driving records in her life and everything reports to driving records . She acted like she knew the Georgia ordinance codes and really didn’t give me a chance to explain . I really just felt like I was being racially profiled and she just didn’t want me to attend the school . When I told her that I don’t think I want to attend a school like this with her bad energy around she said fine “GO FIND ANOTHER SCHOOL THEN!!! I was in disgust because I’ve spoke with many other schools and ask for information and Never received the type of response and attitude Sharon gave me . It really deterred me from wanting to even be in the industry if I have to deal with people like her . School is supposed to be an exciting venture for someone who is an aspiring truck driver and people who are inquiring should be treated with respect . Not spoken to like a child. If you decide to come to this school speak to MR.T or the lady at the front desk , they are both very pleasant . I was greeted politely, and MR.T was very comical and personable which impacted my decision to get my cdl training here . I’ve never spoken with the owner BRYAN . But I hear he’s a great guy . I wish this situation can be resolved but I highly doubt it with people like SHARON being around . I never write reviews online for anything but this very long novel was necessary today ..

The instructors and staff is great. Some veterans so they make you feel at home. But as far veterans using their GI Bill to attend it aint that worth it save your GI Bill. If you go to the 9 week weekend class you only get paid for 3 weeks. Also the VA Rep for GDA get Smart with every veteran the call. A guy in my class had a problem with her also. I switched from the weekend to the weekday class and she only put the first week of the weekday class I attend, when I called her she got an attitude like she cant mess up. So if you pay out of pocket this is a great school but using your GI Bill its a waste of a perfectly good bill!!!!!!!!!

In one week I get too much information that I couldnt believe exist. They dont just show you how to drive they teach you how this business work no lies they said what it is. Instructors can be fun to work with it or they can be as bad as you want respect what they doing and is a IN and OUT 3 weeks . If you are interested in getting your CDL and know all the safety procedure , regulations and responsibilities that come with it this is the right place.

I graduated from GDA in January and got my CDL a week later. I had a great experience at GDA. A few of the highlights were the instructors, the admin staff, teaching techniques, cleanliness of the facilities and womens bathrooms. The instructors, ALL of them without exception, were experienced, well-informed and each brought something unique and beneficial to the learning environment. The admin staff, including the Director and Manager, were friendly, professional and encouraging. The manner in which the curriculum was taught covered a variety of learning styles, so whether you learn by seeing, hearing, reading, writing, touching or doing, their curriculum will work for you. The cleaning lady does an amazing job and shes serious about making sure the space is clean. I am a woman who loves a clean restroom so she gets 5 stars from me. The only reason I gave this review 4 stars is because the simulator wasnt working during the entire time I was there and I REALLY feel it was needed to help me with my clutching and gear shifting before testing. Second was the test trucks. One was broke down when I tested out at the DDS and the condition of the one I used made an already nerve wracking situation much more difficult. I dont know much about trucks but Im sure that clutch needs some work. The heat worked though .;).Overall GDA taught me well. I highly recommend them for those ready to bring their best to a fast paced learning environment.
