Its been almost 10 years since I attended OCCI, but it will always have a special place in my heart. It was the best year of my life thus far. The staff was amazing and the education was phenomenal! I learned so much and Im so grateful for what I got there. Im working towards opening my own bakery so I can continually use what I learned there and what Ive gained in my career since.And the area is BEAUTIFUL! Coos Bay is such a lovely, quiet city with some incredible views.This school is small and youre not just another face paying tuition. I felt really heard by my instructors and mentors. I will forever recommend this school to anyone who asks.

The instructors were amazing when I attended but if you do not plan to open and run your own business then you are better off getting OJT experience in a restaurant before enrolling. You will get paid the same before college as you would after obtaining a degree if you plan to work for anyone else. I attended for two years and totalled $89,000 in debt. Now I fix aircraft to pay my debt because I could never afford to working in the culinary field. I do love cooking for others...

As a double major at OCCI, I spent twice the amount of time at the school, and got to know the majority of the staff at the school. Not only was I completely satisfied by my education I received there but you can really see how much effort the staff puts in to making the students as prepared as possible to work in the industry. Your experience will be what you make it and there are many opportunities to learn and grow in different areas of the craft. Great School and Great Staff!
