Started coming to this gym 7 months ago and it is amazing. I was always nervous about where to start training and starting at an older age I would be the new guy. Everyone has been so helpful and encouraging and the more I go he better I’m getting. Don’t wait to get started like I did just jump in if it’s something you have wanted to do and you will be welcomed here!

While on a business trip to Dallas I decided to drop in to Mohler MMA for a 7 pm BJJ class. Im only a 1 stripe white belt and a pretty small dude so Im fairly easy to smash. However everyone was super cool to roll with and made me feel welcome. Id highly recommend this Gym to anyone at any level. Next time Im in Dallas Im definitely going to be hitting them back up for a night of training!

I love this place! It is my home away from home! The people that train here are tough and very welcoming. All of the coaches are approachable and share their knowledge, nothing is held back. Coach Allen Mohler is a wealth of information and an excellent teacher, breaking down the technique to the fundamental movements.

Outstanding Staff and Teachers! I attend class at Mohler MMA in Deep Ellum. Professor Mohler is a great man, he truly cares about his students. I have the flexibility to attend different classes with different teachers and in my experience the teachers are all extremely hands on in terms of making sure students feel good about their learning experience. This is a reflection of Professor Mohler as a leader. If you are looking to join a program that is dominate in what they are teaching and feels like family, Mohler MMA is the perfect school.

I walked in cold with zero martial arts training in September of 2016. I wasnt sure what to expect, but Professor Mohlers pedigree and the location of the schools worked for me.Man am I glad I did.Professor Mohler is an outstanding instructor, and the students at Mohler are encouraging and helpful. The vibe is laid back, but in a good way - as many Mohler students are accomplished competitors with many years of experience.I cannot more highly recommend Mohler MMA.

Great, friendly, family environment. Lots of high level bjj practitioners. Great Muay Thai and awesome boxing. Me, my wife and my daughter have a family membership. It was the best decision we have ever made. The new location is first class. Literally, there is something for everyone.

This place is my 2nd home. when I first signed up everyone was so welcoming. the adult classes are taught by the best coaches. the kids classes are taught by the kindest coaches who are very patient with the kids. if your kid has attention issues like my niece, the coaches recognize it and help your child focus.

First of all let me say that I had little or no direct interaction with Allen Mohler, the owner of this business, from what my friends tell me hes a good coach and a nice person. My review is not a reflection in anyway of him personally but a description of the environment he allows, creates or at least is responsible for.A couple of incidents took place within a week of each other that caused me to realize this is not the kind of place I want my child to go to.The first one was one day when the kids class was starting and all the kids started laughing when a boy came to class wearing a unusual looking hat. The instructor grabbed my daughter, who was one of the ones laughing, and dragged her over to a poster on the wall. He pointed at it and said what does it say right there? She fearfully answered, to respect others. The problem is that I dont think any of the 4 to 7 year olds knew that the kid was wearing a Muslim prayer hat or the significance of the hat. The kids simply thought it was funny looking because they havent seen one before. I let it go as a misunderstanding.Not even a week later a guy grabbed me and pushed me against the wall and said thats not even allowed in the adult class. I said what are you talking about? He said my daughter did a move while sparing that wasnt allowed. I said if my daughter is doing something wrong you need to tell her. In short he claimed that I had been training my 7 year old daughter to do illegal techniques against other kids in the class. It was as bizarre as it sounds especially since I dont know martial arts.I had paid Mohler MMA $650 the day before plus I had agreed to pay an additional couple hundred dollars for the gyms uniforms. I was delighted they refunded all my money and felt like I couldnt get out the door quick enough. This isnt the right environment for a child.

Great place to train from beginner to professional athlete. The people are super friendly and the coaching is superior to other MMA gyms.

I would recommend Mohlers to anyone in the DFW Area. He is a great professor that gives direct, clear instruction. There are a lot of training partners of different skill levels and sizes to learn from. Great for both hobbyists and competitors.

Now I will tell you one thing if you just want somebody to hand you a different color belt every month this will not happen there they actually teach you and make sure you learn it so you know that you are earning it which is amazing . I have been training at Mohlers for the last six years. The quality of coaches and training partners keep me coming back year after year. Even thought I am sixty-seven years old, I have never felt unable to participate due the attention and coaching I have received. Like Family! Having just moved my family from La. to Dallas, I searched for a school for my then 4 year old son to begin training. Mohlers MMA is literally the ONLY school that provides this opportunity in DFW! Zephyr has Been in Little Dragons for over a year now , he has learned so much, made some great friends (as have I ), and he absolutely LOVES going to train with his pals. Coach Paul Ewton is an outstanding coach for these young kids, he has tremendous patience and cares for them like his own. The Mohler family including Shawna and Professor Mohler are extremely hands on in both locations, it is a family owned and operated gym and you will feel a part of it :)We drive 20 miles or so twice a week to coppell from Dallas just to be a part.Highly recommend👌🏻

I do not typically respond to these reviews. However, was so upset at the most recent review I felt the need to justify how wonderful Mohlers gym truly is. There are no prejudices there with the largest variety of individuals, cultures and religions. Everyone is welcome irregardless of background. Not only is Mohlers facility a wonderful place to learn different aspects of self defense, it is a place to meet a diverse population of unique individuals all there to learn and expand their network of friends and knowledge about life in general. Coach Paul is an unbias, kind, hardworking, humble coach who goes out of his way to help teach these children about jiujitsu but also about discipline in life outside of jiujitsu... he emphasizes respect for others and teaches core principles learned thru a multitude of different martial arts. i would recommend this gym to anyone and everyone who would want to be part of a team and part of a family.

So Ive been training with Professor (Coach) Mohler and the Mohler MMA team for 2 years now. Professor Mohler surrounds himself with amazing people, both his coaches and team included. When youve been here for a while it really becomes a family. But it doesnt end with the since of community. The training you get here is the best in Dallas, for beginners and experienced alike. I cant stess enough how beginner friendly the team and coaches are. Ive trained at a lot of different gyms in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex. And I can honestly say, Mohler MMA is the best. The jiu-jitsu program is amazing. Coach Mohler is very detail oriented, and is always encouraging students to ask questions. The MMA program is fortified by some of the best coaches Ive trained with. The fact that UFC fighters seek this school out says as much. If you have any doubts, just come check it out. See for your self. Again, its very beginner friendly.

Let me 1st say the people at Mohlers are super cool. I prepaid a year and I was there for 10 months and all I ever got was ringworm on my face (mats are terrible). I am also a 10 year white belt (off and on), that has tapped more than a few black belts. Ive know Mohler for the better part of a decade and I can say with confidence that he only cares about money. I say this because I have done a number of favors for him that would have cost him money and time. Let me be clear, money and favors is no reason to promote a student; but skill, time, helping other students, and friendship is. I have trained at the Lions Den, Mohlers BJJ, Hicks BJJ, and the Octagon BJJ under Bruno Bastos, all of those Coaches never promoted me despite tapping high level people at all those schools. Some advice to Coaches out there, dont ever joke about not promoting someone to their face that has clearly put the time and money into your schools.

Mohler MMA has a very friendly staff!!! The coaches are excellent with beginners. The kids coaches are nice, supportive and patient! The kids are always having fun. The coaches do an excellent job in keeping their attention. They do very well to cater to everyones learning needs. From the 4-5yr olds to the adults, the beginner to the hobbyist to the pro. Mohler MMA has you covered.Team Mohler is very well known in many aspects of Martial Arts. I started to go to Mohler MMA in 2010. I am an exchange student. I immediately felt welcome, coaches and students. It was really hard for me at the beginning because my English was really bad, but EVERYONE has been really patient. People are from different places and have different backgrounds so we are all team oriented. I do all the other classes: Muay Thai and BJJ and I am addicted. First, the atmosphere is really good: there are no other issues. Johnny Lozano teaches a lot of different techniques and styles. I became a Golden Gloves champion in 2012 because he made me a good boxer. Coach Mohler has a way to teach that makes it look easy and fun. He is a good mentor and always says hello to people individually by calling their names. Finally, its a great facility with a cage, a lot of space in the mats, several heavy bags (they just changed them so they are new) and showers. I spend 1/3 of my time there. This is my second family!I came for the first time in 2010, and from the beginning I liked the gym. Initially I had a lot of trouble because my English was super bad but everyone made the effort to be patient and try to communicate. I felt integrated very quickly. There is a real diversity and I like the fact that although everyone comes from different horizons, the team is very united. I started with boxing then I added all the other classes and Im addicted. First of all the quality of teaching is top, the coaches are experts in their fields. Coach Lozano, in boxing, touches all styles and shows different techniques. I became Golden Gloves champion in 2012 thanks to him. Coach Mohler has his own way of teaching jiu jitsu, and this makes learning enjoyable and almost easy. He always greets every student by calling us by our first names, and he knows how to give motivational speeches. Finally, the gym itself is really beautiful. There is a cage, a lot of space on the carpets, a lot of punching bags (they have just changed) and showers. I spend 1/3 of my time there, its really my second family.
