You dont have to be able to read music or know anything about music theory, but luckily I did play clarinet and then some classical guitar, so I knew a little, but I knew nothing about drums. Manny took met me where i was in my knowledge and ability and took me to where I now know how to practice and in a short while would feel comfortable playing with along with a group. I will be playing along to my favorite songs with greater skill and confidence. I was the only one who booked this evening, and for three hours -time got away- I thought of nothing else but playing congas, and I am one prone to worry. This would a lot of fun with friends., I am sure. I got more for my $26 than I could have imagined, and Im actually going to go back for another lesson because I had that much fun, and Im ready to leave all thoughts behind for another couple of hours.

I booked a “Learn to Play Congas in 15 Minutes” session for my girlfriend and I as a date night activity. It was a blast!Manny is very knowledgable and friendly! His passion for conga drumming is so evident, and he really made learning to play fun. It’s a two hour activity, and you really do learn to play very quickly. Most of the class is spent playing along with jazz, rock, hip hop, and pop songs from the 1940s to present day.I recommend this class to anyone who has even a passing curiosity in conga drumming. It’s a lot of fun, and Manny is a great instructor. Thank you, Manny!

On my 13th birthday my dad bought me a set of 2 professional Conga drums. From that time until age 25 when I got married I played on average twice a month either by practicing or going to play at family or friends parties. Life happens after marriage and the Conga drums were upside down in a closet for 33 years until we became empty nesters. After 33 years I pulled the drums out of the closet and started playing them again and VERY fortunately met Manny Aguiar about a year after that. I have attended his learn to play Conga drums in 15 minutes classes and have taken it to another level where now I do private lessons with him once every 2 weeks. My playing skill has gone to a level for which I will always be thankful to Manny. Manny will always be the person that I will say taught me to play the Conga drums the right way. Besides having a very memorable and fun experience with Manny; his learn to play Congas in 15 minutes does exactly that and teaches the most important Conga beats that will allow anyone to play a vast array of Latin, Jazz, Pop and Rock Songs. Additionally you will learn the history of Conga drums and watch up close the skills of a Master Conga drummer like Manny. As accomplished a drummer as Manny is with a very impressive resume and musical background he remains very humble and a joy to work with. His passion without any doubt is music and to “play it forward” to others the skills that he learned from the music Master’s who taught him.
