Teachers give worksheets to learn and half of the teachers have never even taught or know anything about their subject that they teach us. My sociology teacher has a history degree and my forensics teacher has biology and psychology degree. The school is a blinding white and backwards school. If you even love you child at all, dont let them go here.

Its a school. Its going to be the same where ever you live in the U.S. The teachers will be the same, students, polices, all the same. Typical generic high school. The sports are #1 priority while everything else gets the short end of the stick. As said just like any other typical U.S red blooded American high school. Nothings changed with high schools and it never will. Why fix something thats not broke am I right? Oh wait...It is a broke system..Heres a trick to get through high school boys and girls! BE THE TEACHERS PET! Seriously be the teachers favorite, when you do that, you can pass high school like its nothing.

Best high school this side of the Mississippi. And the other side. Definitely best high school in the nation. Pure academic and athletic domination. If anybody thinks that Hough is not the best high school in the country they can play me 1 on 1 anytime anywhere. BALL DONT LIE.Being a student at Hough High School, I can honestly say that Hough is the best high school in the country.- George Washington

This school has the upmost potential and opportunity for any student that has the drive and passion to be great. Hough is incredible in all aspects of school; athletics, arts, academics, etc. The philosophy is to go beyond great and be well rounded and excel at everything.Overall a very competitive atmosphere, good for real world experience. Only complaint is parking lot size compared to the ratio of people in the school.Other wise, the best high school in all of CMS.

January 11, 2000 in Florence, South Carolina the late president George W. Bush famously uttered the words: Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning? Clearly President Bush never visited The William Amos Hough High School, or as I like to call it the worlds greatest institution of learning. Hough has it all sports, extra curriculars, and academics, anyone can find their place at The Hough. The Hough Huskies athletics program is a direct reflection of the school itself, well-rounded and well-spoken. My only complaint about The Hough would be the lack of paper towels in the restrooms. During its inception the powers that be at The Hough decided they wanted air dryers in the restrooms. In theory this is a good idea because it saves paper and eliminates the need to check paper towel dispensers in the lavatories, but air dryers just dont stack up to paper towels. I often find myself vigorously shaking my hands or rubbing them on my clothes after leaving the restroom in an attempt to make them suitable for holding a pencil or giving a friend a Dap in the hallway. I know what youre thinking right now, who taught this kid how to write so well? Thats right the wonderful teachers at Hough. If you take nothing else from this review, let it be this: You will never come across a better school than William Amos Hough School.

Teachers let me do everything because I cheered. Mr. Egert lost my test and asked me what I got on it. I said 96, and he gave me a 98. Overall a fantastic school, 10/10, would recommend to a friend

Where to begin with William Amos Hough High School? The academics, the athletics, the architecture, and the atmosphere are all of the highest of quality. Did the hallways in the morning often times smell of feces? Did the local news station more than once peg the entire student body as racist? To both questions I can answer with an absolutely. But neither of those occurrences took away from the brilliance and growth that I experienced as a student at THE HOUGH. Not only does Hough have one of the highest SAT averages of all CMS schools, it also was home to multiple championship athletes able to call Hough their old stomping grounds. Winners go to Hough and Hough only wants winners. God Bless the home of the Huskies.

Very nice school, lots of diversity, smells good, and no controversies at all. Tired of all the fake news that circles around this institution. Sad!!

My daughter went here this past year right when we moved to North Carolina, the second month she was there she already hated the teachers and the system. The guidance counselers dont even care about anything and cant do there job (that a 10 year old could do!) the school only pays attention to students if ur an athlete or you have money! Everything is electronic and teachers just sit there they dont even teach. If you are failing than at the end of the year you miraculously pass. But also if you want rude teachers who curse at students and dont care and babysit instead of teach, than this is the school for you!If you want to attend this school than make sure you live on LKN or The point ! And make sure you have over $20. Million dollars by you at any time!

Hough High School is one heck of a school. The teachers and administration are attentive and always on hand to help students. Frankly, anybody who talks badly about Dr. Rosenbach has never met her. She is always present in the hallways and 100% willing to hear out student concerns. I would also like to debunk another myth that is thrown around: parents run Hough. This is false in a number of senses. In any affluent school there will be parents who try and be very hands on in their childs learning. This manifests itself in a number of ways but a fear of everything and attempting to over protect their children from non-threats are the main ways this happens. The school listens to concerns and takes note of them but under no circumstances do they feel obliged to cave to parent demands if they are against the interests of the students.Overall, this is a school thats main mission is to support its students and attain the highest number of graduates it can.The fifth star is missing through no fault of their own, but the lack of diversity means that there is a bubble that a number of students are able to comfortably live in. This means that there are a number of students that graduate and have no idea what the real world, where not everyone is white and wealthy, looks like.Shoutout to Mrs. Waddell *100 emoji*

With Laura Rosenbach as principal, Hough has been ran into the grown. None of her employees respect or like her. Laura Rosenbach continues to let the parents run Hough because she has no backbone. I know my nephew really enjoyed being at Hough under Dr. Cockerham, but wanted to transfer after his second year of Laura Rosenbach. CMS really needs to look at this and get rid of people like her. If you have a child going to high school, please look at other options besides Hough if Laura Rosenbach is still principal.

It was nearly impossible to get a bus assigned to me when my ride wasnt available. the rules are really stupid, and I couldnt pass my science classes well because none of the teachers stayed! I hated the poor education I got there. A lot of the teachers played favorites. I just graduated, thank god Im done.

My son enjoyed the JROTC program, besides that, It wasnt a very good school; the teachers werent teaching well, the students were disrespectful, and sports is the only thing administration cares about, my son switched schools because he couldnt stand it anymore, definitely not the best school CMS has operating
