Master Kim is a wonderful instructor, he really gets to know the kids and makes sure they’re understanding the techniques they’re being taught while also making sure they’re having fun. My son has only been taking for a month but has gained so much knowledge and confidence from Master Kim. He cannot wait to attend class and is eager to learn more and practice at home. Master Kim and his instructors are encouraging, engaging and caring.

Master Kim is an incredible instructor. He is wonderful at finding a balance between providing a fun atmosphere, while at the same time instilling focus, determination, and hard work into each lesson. My daughter has been taking classes at 153TAEKWONDO for the past 8 months and we have had the most positive experience. I cannot recommend 153TAEKWONDO enough.

Awesome place to give your kids the confidence that they need and to loosen up and not be shy. Plus the teacher is very good with kids.

Our 5 year old twins started TaeKwondo with Master Kim about a month ago. We’ve been so impressed with how Master Kim teaches the boys (and this age group) and how responsive the boys have been during each class. Master Kim is the perfect mix of creating a fun atmosphere, where these kids can learn TaeKwondo, and teaching them to focus during each lesson. After a few weeks, one of my twins was even able to count to 10 in Korean which was a big surprise to us! We are so grateful for everything that the boys are learning from Master Kim! We highly recommend MAD TaeKwondo and Master Kim!

Master Kim is an excellent instructor who focuses his classes on your needs. I recently started at Martial Arts Davidson as a retiree and after one month are feeling the benefits. My strength and flexibility has greatly improved. It has also helped my golf game tremendously. I would encourage any adults that are interested regardless of age to check it out.

Both myself, and my five year old son take classes from Master Kim. He is beyond incredible with the children. He is firm, yet patient and understanding, funny and exciting. He instills in them respect, discipline and self esteem. The adult classes are just as much fun as they are challenging. Master Kim has the ability to make everyone feel comfortable, and still push them as hard as they can go. There is a feeling of camaraderie from everyone there, from high belts to low belts. I would recommend it to anyone.

We had the best birthday party there. Master Kim was very professional and he is highly skilled. People who showed us the demonstrations were very respectful and highly skilled as well. Kids enjoyed the party and the parents really enjoyed it as well.

Martial Arts Davidson 153TKD is a phenomenal Martial Arts school. My 15 year old, 5 year old, and myself all started TKD together in April. Master Kims dedication, knowledge of the sport, and skill, are above and beyond anything we were able to find previously. Master Kim is equally amazing with little ones, teens, and adults. He is silly with the little ones, and keeps them smiling and laughing while teaching them structure and discipline at the same time. Adult and teen classes are always high energy, and Master Kim is constantly mixing things up so no two classes are alike. His energy is nothing short of infectious. Master Kim will be your biggest fan, and encourage and believe in you every single step of the way.

The people here are very friendly! The master here is very dedicated and is very thorough in his teachings. He dedicates a lot of time in not only his training, but he makes sure that all his students are in the best environment. Great place!

Master Kim is by far an amazing teacher and he 100% helps you appreciate the art of taekwondo. The first time I came I was worried about not fitting in or simply being terrible at taekwondo (since I am not athletic at all), but the environment and the people here make you feel welcomed every step of the way. I am a Taekwondo beginner and know nothing about Taekwando nor martials arts in general. I just needed some type of workout class to get my behind off of my office chair. My office is located in downtown Davidson and when I saw that Master Kim was offering classes, I signed up immediately for 3 months to take advantage of the discount he was offering. At first, I was so embarrassed because A) I was the only adult in class and B) I was clearly out of shape and couldn’t keep up. My embarrassment and anxiety went out the door immediately because Master Kim made sure that I felt super comfortable and did not push me to my breaking point. He understood my limitations and encouraged me in a positive way to do a little bit more. He brings so much energy and fun to the class every week and his warm ups are super beneficial and gets your heart pumping. I recommend this class to everyone especially to young children. Master Kim’s teachings go beyond the class room because he teaches kids discipline, respect, and gives house chores as homework to the young kids. I don’t have kinds right now, but when I do, I will absolutely sign them up for Master Kim’s class!
