I am a student at parkridge elementary school. It is a really good school. When your in 6th grade you get to build a bridge out of tooth picks it is really fun they are respectful to you😃

The teachers there were good, lunches were decent, cafeteria only gets clean sometimes and I only went there for summer school one day.

This school is cool.They do a good job at there job.

Aside from the school being rated a 3, there are MANY problems with this school. My daughter was unfortunate enough to attend this school and while she was there she endured bullying, the school doing nothing about it, her 1st grade teacher Ms. Livingstone screaming in her face and constant negativity and nit picking about silly things like not being able to sit still or writing her numbers perfectly. There was also an incident where a substitute wasnt paying attention to the children in her class and my daughter was found playing on the play structure unattended for God knows how long. She could have been kidnapped! And my daughter was reprimanded for this and got in trouble at school because an adult failed to do her job. This all happened in a span of TWO MONTHS.Their idea of discipline for high energy children is to take away their recess and negative consequences as opposed to positive reinforcement. Despite me reaching out to her teacher SEVERAL times regarding my childs needs, my emails usually went unanswered. My final straw was the day the Vice Principal, Ms. Cortez called me regarding an incident where a male first grader kept spanking my child on her rear which is very inappropriate. Ms. Cortez basically called my child a liar and said the incidents never happened.My daughter used to love school prior to entering this hellish place. She would cry every morning, hated school and the insane amount of homework is utterly ridiculous. The teachers expect YOU to teach your child what they should be learning in school...what they are getting PAID to do.I am happy to say my child is back to normal after we changed schools and districts. I was afraid that all public schools were as bad as Parkridge, but thankfully that is not the case. My daughter has had no issues, her new teacher understands that 6 year olds shouldnt be expected to write perfectly and that they cant sit still for very long. I now know the issue was Parkridge and not my child. I would advise sending your child to another school if you care about your childs education, safety and if you dont want your child bullied and abused by staff.
