I have had my daughter Teschmacher in this school for going on 4 years now, and she loves it. I couldnt be more satisfied with the results. The teachers are extremely caring, and attentive to the needs of the students. Her teacher would go out of her way to make sure my daughter understood the material. I highly recommend this school!

I absolutely love this school. My daughter is in 2nd grade ( 2C) now and has attended SST since kindergarten. Her teacher is awesome. She is always communicating with the parents. I know whats going on and have never felt out of the loop. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. This school really feels like one big family accepting of everyone.

Her communication with parents is great. I know if I call or text about my son she will respond quickly, even if its on a Sunday. Lol (2C)

My son, Mikaél, is in first grade and he loves this school and his teacher. I do as well. His teacher provides so much communication and gives the kids so much attention. I cannot wait until his sister can attend this school next year too. The school is always good at giving the parents information in a timely manner. 1c-Ms.Mendoza

I go to the School of Science and Technology, and to tell you the truth I enjoy it. There are many misunderstandings about the school, and I want to clear them up for the parents out there. First we are taught in a different manner. Not a bad one, its more like they teach us at a pace we can keep up with. I will give you guys the point that tutoring does have flaws but thats because the school is still new. In fact were about 4 years old maybe 5 and we do not have everything we need yet so things are a little rough here and there. One thing is for sure however, public school cannot give your child the same safety that we give here.I know this, I attended public school and the experience was much different than the one here at the school. The days at my other school was rough, often you would see stuff that would change a person. I realized around that time I was not the same person I was when I had entered that school, my tone had change, my thought patterns were nothing like the ones I used to had, and my grades, most of all my writing reflected it. After I attended this school, I was able to focus on things I had wanted to focus on when I was at the other school but could not because I was not making the choice I had really been wanting to make.Back to my the current situation right now, our school does teach a wide variety of history and we do not force Muslim or pakastain history on to students, it may pop up in a lesson in social studies or world history or maybe a student asked about it in class. The teachers, 99% of them are awesome. They truly listen to us, they are like second parents, when we need help they pull time out of their busy schedule and help us out. If we need a volunteer opportunity they will look around and help us out. If we are getting our first job, guess what? They will help us write a resume, get the letters of recommendation and look around for things that can help us out. Not only that they provide us with options, for different camps, volunteer choices, teaching strategies, and more. Like before they are second parents and I dont this school can survive without them. The important thing though I think is that we get college hours from the moment you go to the school, this will help you later on during college. (I believe high school starts the real hours but I am not too sure.) And they help you out to build a career during your collage years, even high school if you try hard enough! They are helping me out, so just ask and they will help you to the best they can, they do care because I went from being a student with the lowest grades to they top ten in my class. So please try our school out, you wont know unless you check us out!(Revised 28 April 2015; Original around April 2014)Note: My opinion will not change, after all thanks to the whole staff here and the previous staff members I feel like a second home, especially since my class is like my family! Also thanks to them I am able to have a job, dual credit and so many more opportunities open up, I honestly dont think I regret not going to public school now, after all I would have never met so many teachers who gave me powerful tools and inspiration! Also I forgot to mention just cause we are called Science and Technology does not mean we only teach those two subjects, but we focus our teachings around it, or at least incorporate it, all the regular course you would receive at a public school are taught here at a higher level and you have better chances of graduating with DAP (Distinguish Academic Program)! Thanks!

First, this place is very disorganized. You cant even tell which way to park because there are two sets of painted lines in the parking lot and this parking lot turns into a used car lot on the weekends. I couldnt pick my child up early for appointments because the person that was sent to get him disappeared and I had to eventually go pull him from class myself after waiting 20 minutes. Tutoring was cancelled on a regular basis and they failed NUMEROUS times to advise me of this ahead of time which left me scrambling trying to leave work to come pick my child up. Second, they assigned my 4th grader essay assignments, MS Powerpoint, and MS Excel assignments. He didnt know the first thing about these things because they just threw him into this so I spent several evenings working into the night. They have a website and a database which they fail to update which leaves parents in the dark. For example, they changed the due date of their science project from Dec 10 to Dec 5 without notifying parents or posting anything on their website. Also, their school lunches and after school care is more expensive. They are required to wear polo shirts that you can only buy from one company for a whopping $25 each. They have to wear khaki pants which they also wear for PE so torn or stained pants is common because they wouldnt have them change their clothes for PE. Oh and the kids didnt have any equipment for PE so my child had to bring his own. I was not impressed at all. Ill stick with public schools.

My son has been attending SST since he was in kindergarten. It is a GREAT school and I believe my son has learned a lot. The teachers are great with the students. Ms. Cano and Mrs. Lardin have both showed me that they really care about their students. Before I enrolled him in SST, I was told it was a bad school. Im so glad I decided to enroll him. I believe SST is a bit more challenging at times, but if I want my son to succeed Im all for it. (Veronica V 2C)

I have two of my children there (4th grade and 2nd) they have been there since kindergarten. In the beginning things were a bit rough but it was a new school. I am so glad we stayed with them though because the teachers are amazing! They really care about the students and want them to succeed in life. Everyone is very nice and I love their curriculum! The only thing I wish is that they had more extra curricular activities like chior, band, sports, and bring back the robotics club, my 2nd grader really wants to join!

My girls have been attending this school since last school year (kinder), and have learned so much since. I will say that this year (first grade), I was pretty wary about them being seperated after basically being attached to the hip since my womb, but their teachers, Ms. Mendoza & Ms. Shockney, have been amazing, they are always an email away and keep in contact often; whether it be about grades, pics of something exciting that happened (when they dressed up for halloween for example), or just to let me know of an upcoming event. I like that, I also actually like the smaller school environment because all of the kids get to grow up together, everyone knows them as the twinsies and love to try to guess whos who. I dont see them going anywhere else anytime soon! :)

This is my daughters first year attending SST, she is a 1st grader in 1B. My daughter was in a private school for pre k and kinder and I was kind of hesitant on pulling her out, once I met Mrs. Shockney, it was no longer a concern. I was instantly blown away by her expectations for her students and wished previous teachers held the same. I have grown very fond of SSTCC and the standards they hold their students to. The curriculum is amazing and my daughter has been academically pushed and surprised me and how well she has succeed this far. I am hoping for my older daughter to get into SSTCC for the 2016-2017 school year and would highly recommend everyone to enroll their child. I am excited to see what the rest of my childrens school years have in store with everything SST has to offer. Thank you to all staff for being so friendly, polite and curtious every time I have entered the school! :)

Let me start by saying that all of my children have attended this school since it first open its doors. Yes it was a challenge, as the school is privately funded and government assistance is limited and they rely on foundations such as Melinda and Bill Gates for grants and funds. The first year it was khaos since both parents and teachers were wearing many hats to get all accomplished and get the students a great environment. The chaos was the good kind to have, it generated a close knit community with only one goal in mind, our kids scholastic future; we helped with car washes, wall painting, furniture rearrangement and coaching various scholastic areas such as the robotics team, 6th graders team won 1st competition earning 16 1st and 2nd place throphies competing with University and high school students, math, science and other subjects were also coached. My eldest child is now a senior, she started 6 years ago and has earned 2 scholarships to travel to Turkey and now a 3rd to travel to Spain, she speaks 3 languages fluently and can setup and program websites since the age of 14. The negative reviews below are from ex students that were disciplined for misbheavier and not being able to cope with the strict rules implemented at the school, there is no skinny jeans, no saggy pants showing undergarment, no gang pariphanelia and bullying / assult will get you expelled. The one strike rule is not taken well by students with disciplinary challenges nor are their parents happy and the only venting they can do is blaming others for not disciplining their children at home and expecting magical results from the school and faculty to correct their failure. The school helps and provides a good environment and all the tools to excel but the parents need to follow up and help and question the students performance. The grades and course syllabus is available online and it includes historical data from the students first day in school. This is definitely a school for the non mediocre it pushes and requires 110% from students and parents. It promotes discipline, proper manners and the drive and want for the students to strive for the best!! Partnerships with Texas A&M Kingsville/Corpus Christi, Texas, Penn State, Baylor, Harvard, Rice, Standford, Duke, Standford and MIT. So if you want your children to strive for a better scholastic opportunity give the school a chance, but both parents and students must relive that it is a challenge and it requires dedication and a CAN DO attitude.
