My kids are now 16, 15, and 12 years old. Every now and then, theyll tell my wife and me things about their time staying at this place, when they were younger. I feel so bad for having made them stay there. I can remember them crying when we dropped them off, many times. Now that theyre older, and more able to describe the treatment that the kids got, there, I know that leaving them at that place was a big mistake. It was a bad experience for my kids. Dont make the same mistake that we did.

I do not recommend this daycare. They are suppose to be trained staff to be able to care for children. Growing children and be there when the parent is at work or school and trying to make a living. Instead they call for every little misbehaving kid and suspend them and send them home for something that can be fixed if they had PROPER patience and training and learning disciplined techniques. I think they need to have more patience and understanding and learn how to be productive with our children instead of find ways to get rid of them because they are tired of handling them “THAT is THEIR job and THEIR DUTY” and that’s what that school gets paid for. They need to stop “not tolerating children” and get shutdown if they aren’t capable of handling a growing learning kid. Suspending kids for every little thing is not right if you specialize in caring for CHILDREN.

We did like Red Barn until then unenrolled my daughter because we didn’t show up for two weeks but informed me at the start that if she wasn’t going to be there, it was easy they charged a $25 holding fee. No problem. At the very beginning they asked us to put a card on file so obviously we did that.Well, let’s take her back to school this week and boom she’s unenrolled and they filled her spot. She said they tried to call us on a SATURDAY but also, conveniently left no voicemail. Did I fail to mention we were out of cell service this weekend, we were on the border. My question is what business calls on a Saturday and leaves no voicemail, then just unenrolled her even though they have a CARD on file? Oh and of course no spots are available to re enroll her so onto another daycare, hopefully a better one.

I went to this daycare when I was a child. I have memories of the caretakers treating the children poorly and extremely impatiently. My strongest memory is of a child with a fingernail that was torn almost all of the way off. The caretaker at the time was setting up a television to play a movie for the children. The child with the torn nail walked up to the lady to tell her about the situation in a panicking state. She responded with Get away from the T.V. or Ill rip it the rest of the way off....not very nice.

10/10 DO NOT recommend this daycare to anyone. We were new to the Corpus area last year and this daycare was close to the house and affordable, so we went with it. When I tell you it’s something EVERY week, I’m not kidding. My son has been suspended usually twice in a week. I finally had enough of it and went back to review the cameras. They don’t have the hard evidence to show me what they suspended him for. What the camera did show is my son laying on the table minding his own business, the teacher came and got him off. He pulled a few chairs out, and then got slapped in the face by another little girl. Nothing happened to her. I’m am furious with this daycare and their employees. Please choose another center when finding a place to take care of your children. They definitely aren’t here for your child’s best interest!

I have taken my children to this daycare for years and they have been so great to them. There was only one time I was forced to change daycares only because red barn didnt have an opening for the age group of my infant son, but I soon regretted it. Once I changed back to red barn it was just a total relief. They have always put my mind at ease knowing my children are under their care. I love this daycare!

I had my 2 kids here. They would suspend my 3 year old girl almost every week for stupid stuff. I almost got fired from my job because of the frequency of having to leave work early to get her and having to find alternative childcare for the next day. They dont try to work with the parents or kids on the behavior they would rather just suspend them

I stopped taking my son to red barn because all week long I would get phone calls to pick up my son because he’s running away from them and not listening, my son also caught corona virus from one of their staff! I WOULD NOT recommend this daycare, unless you don’t mind leaving working everyday because they can’t do their jobs correctly and cannot manage kids.

Horrible! Everytime this school is mentioned everyone says negative things. They have the worst reputation in town. They hire anyone and everyone because they can never keep a staff. All unprofessional and rude. They will send your child home for everything. Even a small scratch that he got on the playground but don’t know how’s this or that happened . Even a mosquito bite and make you return with a doctor note. I got questioned by my doctor office on where the day care was because they were shocked and asking if I was seriously getting a scratch or mosquito bite checked out. Was there almost once a week just for a note. They sprained my sons arm and have no idea how it happened! Didn’t offer to help pay expenses and refused to show the camera footage. Way over crowded and too many kids for one teacher to give attention. Never taught my son anything. His new daycare teaches him how to write his name, trace, science, phonics and so forth! Smells horrible like dirty diapers constantly. Also witnessed and told the front that a teacher on the playground grabbed a toddler and dragged her while she was crying to sit down for a time out and pushed her down. They didn’t seem to care and if that was my child I would’ve lost it. I called the licensing department number given by numerous friends and his new daycare and sadly no one is shocked to hear his about red barn. Currently working with an investigator. Ask anyone in town red barn has the worst reputation and facility in town!

Administrative girls are rude. One lady never smiles. She reminds me of the sister on the movie Cry Baby..(ugly one). If only she would smile more its very irritating. Some girls do say hi or good morning or at least give a smirk . But not all or often enough. My kid is always sick...I have my kid on all sorts of medication to break the cold symptoms but it never goes away. They are the only daycare open on Saturdays so Im stuck there. My child is learning things and the teachers for her age group are nice and always smiling....Thank God. So I do give them that. They say they are private...Im not sure whats so private about them. They allow drop in for a small fee which gets in the way of the parents who pay monthly. We have to call and reserve a spot for our kids. Its unfair and irritating. No day care I been too did this. They seem to have too many kids and towards the back where the older kids are it smells like URINE!!!! Why? Its gross. I wonder about the bathroom sanitation. ..better yet with all the kids and the constant sickness I wonder about the sanitation in the entire place. Work on you customer service and health regulations ladies. You look lk you hate kids and your job.

My wife and I have had nothing but positive experiences at Red Barn. We both work and our two children enjoy their time there. You can take them any 5 days of the 7 day week and they are open from 5:30 a.m. to 9pm. Its nice to have great service where our children learn and feel safe. Red Barn is much better than the other centers in town we tried first-way better!

I switched my 2 yr old daughter from another child center in town because i was not happy with the staff or cleanliness of the center. I have been more than happy with Red Barn and so has my daughter. I would suggest anyone looking for child care to go check out the place. It is very clean, reasonable, great hours, and the staff is friendly. Better than any other place ive seen in town-by far!

Outstandingly structured environment. My favorite thing about them is that they openly welcomed my cloth diapered child and had him potty trained right at 2 years old. My same son is a straight A student because of their Pre-K program and their no nonsense discipline when it comes to behavior and academics. They are worth the investment in child care.

Took our four year old here and watched him gradually go from our calm well mannered Toddler to a defiant and aggressive little boy.The place has a couple of truly WONDERFUL teachers. And I STRESS A COUPLE. The rest of the staff here is rude, inattentive and too busy talking to each other about personal isssued than paying attention to kids or Parents. Our Son was Bit, scratched and bruised and eventually began to hit back. He displayed aggressive behavior within a few weeks of being here. I spoke to his FAVORITE teacher and she said to me verbatim your Son does not belong here he is so nice and this is a rowdy crowd. No kids do not act rowdy or defiant unless they are allowed to. We have a friend whos infant was always sick after starting here and upon picking up the baby early one day was taking apart the LEAVE AT FACILITY BOTTLE to refill it and found mold in the bottle and nipple. Bottom line as I could go on and on and on FIND A BETTER PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD RED BARN IS FAR FROM A GREAT ESTABLISHMENT. And the only reason why we gave 1star is it was the only way to write the review.

So far so great! I have worked in childcare for 5 years in my past-working at several different childcare centers. I have a new occupation now, but i know how the business works. I can tell you that this facility is heads and tails above any that i worked at in Houston. The owner is very engaged in what goes on there on a daily basis and it shows. My kids love it and the staff has been very friendly and knowledgeable. Anyone giving a negative review of this place obviously has not tried other centers, or they are being snowed.

IF I COULD GET NEGATIVE FIVE STARS I WOULD!I HAD MY SON ENROLLED IN THIS PLACE FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. ALL THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS YOU READ HERE ARE 100% TRUE AND I CAN TESTIFY TO THAT. IF YOU BRING YOUR CHILD HERE YOU CAN EXPECT FREQUENT SUSPENDING AND YOU WILL HAVE TO LEAVE WORK EARLY TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD CAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH CHILDREN NOR HELP YOU AS PARENT TO TEACH THEM MANNERS. MY SON STARTED HITTING AND KICKING OTHER KIDS AND I DO BELIEVE THAT IT CAME FROM TO MANY KIDS IN THIS PLACE. IT REALLY DOES REMIND ME ON A BARN! THE STAFF DOES NOT CARE AT ALL FOR KIDS ALL THEY CARE FOR IS TO GET THEIR CHECK. THEY SEARCH FOR A REASON TO SEND YOUR CHILD HOME! I RED BARN IS ALL ABOUT QUANTITY AND NOT QUALITY SO SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME. MONEY AND STRESS AND DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enrolled my son in this school 2 weeks ago. After the third day of being there he got sick, thinking it was just a cold. I continue to let him go, I noticed his symptoms were getting worse so I took him to the hospital and found out he had bronchitis, a upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis. My son rarely get sick, at the most he will catch a cold every now and then. On top of that, they over charged me telling me that a full week tuition is 4 days not 5 days when clearly I signed paperwork for 5 days when I enrolled him. These are just 2 of the issues out of the several I had in just 2 weeks... Good luck if you decide to choose this school... Smh

This place has to be the worst one of all. My sister dropped off her two boys here, but she had a bad feeling, she goes back inside to check if everything is alright, but one teacher/child care provider was yanking one of my nephews arms, and another was pulling my other nephew by his ear. Lucky my sister caught them in the act and took her kids out right away. Who knows what else they could be doing to your kids. Dont trust them at all. They should be shut down. I wouldnt trust my kid here at all, and they dont deserve any stars.

This is the WORST daycare I have ever encountered.children bite and kick and hit others so when your child thinks its okay they want to single them out and suspend them for every little thing. The teachers are horrible and the manager mrs. K is just ridiculous she wouldnt even give me a list of pre k schools they work with because theyre working on thingswhat kind of educated child care worker says that. 3 classes later the one day her teacher isnt there she bites someone? Started my son here, this was his first time being taken care of by anyone other than family. At first I thought it was normal the way he started acting, being aggressive due to being around more kids, extremely angry when things wouldn’t go his way, and having tantrums that were horrendous making me want to pull my hair out right along side him. I was even seeking professional help because it had gotten that bad, not even three months of him being there. Every time I would take him, he would be genuinely frightened of the staff and have a panic attack as I would drop him off, one instance he even peed through his diaper at the sight of one “teacher”. The staff is merely working for a paycheck, not because they enjoy doing what they are doing. They will come up with any way to get your child to be sent home, or if you don’t call before 10 you can’t bring them because all of the sudden they’re completely at capacity. Something was off, I knew this when I would hear the teachers, yelling at other children, as I was dropping my own child off, and threatening them with “getting so and so” to punish them if they don’t stop doing what they’re doing. But now that I switched him to a different facility, I know for sure something happened to him to traumatize him at this hell hole. He is such an amazing child now, so loving, excited to go to daycare, NO TANTRUMS, and she even has assisted in helping get a kick start on potty training. Overall, do not waste your time, money, and most importantly your child’s well being at this place.

This daycare stinks horrible. Smells like dirty diapers everytime i walk in .They are under staffed and my kids hate going there. Looking for new daycare. A child scratched my boy on the eye and did not get in any trouble .They keep switching his classrooms and he suffers from PTSD and bi polar. I told them he doesnt like change and am trying to keep him with the same teacher until i get them moved. The only reason they go there is because this daycare opens on Saturdays and i have to work .Looking into withdrawing them from this nasty place. They are very rude to parents .I have asked them if my 5 year old could be with his brother for a little bit to calm him down. They said they would take him to spend a little time with his brother and tthen i find out didnt take him. He pees all over himself all the time. One day he peed 4 times because he cant stand it over there. He even pees on the way over there because he gets scared. Not sure what thats about but will soon find out. I was hoping the kids would get adjusted to it over there and have been there over a month .Obviously its time to look elsewhere. Will be making a report to the state about their inability to provide proper care for the children. The kids say they yell at them everyday and make them sit down all the time .They are not allowed to play, only on Saturdays. This is the worst daycare i have ever been to. Then i learned about them leaving to go home and locked a child in the building so the parents had to call the police to get that child out . I wished i would have done more research on this daycare before enrolling them. I will move them to another daycare even if that means i have to make arrangements for Saturdays. Working on that today. Will not take them back.

If you plan on taking your newborn/pre toddler here be aware. I didnt start experiencing mishaps with my child till the 12 month old room, where the teachers were unaware of why she was crying at times and didnt know of an incident that happened to her or involved her when she was picked up. Always had a draining nose that I had to ask if they could clean before handing her to me. I took her out after she was suspended for biting another pre toddler 2x and the newborn manager stopped her 3rd attempt. My daughter never bites at home or with older sibling during playtime. After seeing footage for myself assurance and wanting to see what the teachers were doing for her, I was dissapointed in the staff as to keeping an eye on my daughter to help prevent her from doing it a 1st and 2nd time. The kids were pushing and pulling for a toy for seconds to a minute when my child did act out and both teachers reacted late both times as if no big deal. It is a big deal to the other toddler and mine. But in the managers words they dont know, their too young to understand but she understands getting suspended? Shes 1 years old! It hurt me as a parent working full time to have her out of school for 2 days due to negligence and poor care taking and guidance. Yes theyre over crowded. So if you plan on wanting your child to get the fair attention they deserve, look elsewhere. My daughter is now enrolled at another school, getting the fair attention every child deserves, doing learning activities and has had no biting incidents since. Another thing, Ive taken new wipes and package of new diapers and havent ran out and been close to a week n half. At red barn by day 4 she wouldve needed more. What else does that tell you. Some of the teachers were great but you would be lucky to have them again the next day because they move them around so much. And incident reports were rarely made when finding a scratch on her face or why she was crying. Hours are great but staff and care taking not so much.

I had a 2yr old and a 4yr old enrolled here. My 4yr old was in the pre-k program - Great teacher, no problems. My 2yr old on the other hand, was bounced around from teacher to teacher, it was always changing. How is he supposed to develop without consistency? He did great with certain teachers who I could tell, loved their job and the children. They worked with him on his potty training etc. But then, he would be assigned these younger, teachers, that really seemed like theyd rather be somewhere else... This is when I noticed the behavior issues. When Id pick him up, the class would be going wild - kids on tables, children fighting over toys, etc. The teacher not even paying attention, seemed oblivious. She would even send him home with soiled diapers all the time. I guess she didnt want to get her fake nails dirty. Long story short, my son was coming home with bite marks and scratches, I would have to sign incident reports, then he picked up these bad habits. After he started biting too, they told me he would have to be evaluated by a counselor to figure out where his behavior problems, or he faced expulsion. Hmmm, I wonder where they came from....doesnt take a specialist to figure it out. Their classes are overcrowded, and the kids are not receiving the attention/discipline they need. Its hit and miss with this place.
