Horrible customer service (not in store—in call center). I ordered a meat thermometer (along with other items) on December 7, 2020. I still have not received the order (it’s January 26, 2021). I have called four times. The first three times, I was guaranteed that I would get an email regarding the status of my order once it was located. Nobody ever got sent me an email. The last time that I called (yesterday) I was told that they actually didn’t have any meat thermometers and would need to be issued a refund. Unfortunately,They were only willing to issue me a gift card even though I paid some with gift card and some with my debit card. The man I spoke with would not let me speak to a supervisor, and refused to put the money back on my debit card. Why would I want to purchase again from a company that has such poor customer service? Also, I am looking for a meat thermometer—if they don’t have any, what good is the gift card?

A egift recipient went to the Costa Mesa location to pick up a Nespresso Vertuo Next and received a USED item. Thats gross, unsanitary, especially during covid, and unacceptable. She was reassured that this item had not been opened, and that any returns were disposed-never placed back on the shelf. (I think she meant-item is sent back to the vendor/charged back to the vendor) Lies! Why was the recipient concern about the product being used, etc? Because Saks Fifth Avenue sent her a Nespresso that didnt include the frother, and it was no longer available since then. Bloomingdales sent her a used Nespresso, one that was so dusty on exterior, and dirty on the inside with grime and water spots. This time she went into the store at Sur La Table in Costa Mesa and received another used Nespresso. Returning it and taking business elsewhere. Maybe a different product altogether.

My children just finished cooking classes with Chef Kristin, and I am so happy with the results!!! The teaching was personalized, and both my kids are in love with cooking and loved the class experience. The three classes taught confidence, passion, and the skills needed for future culinary endeavors. I am blown away by how impactful the staff made such a comparatively short amount of class time.Bonus: the ten year old makes dinner, now.

Ive been wanting to take a Sur La Table cooking class for a while now. If youre an email subscriber, once in a while they send you 50% off their cooking classes, so I took advantage of their Summer Peaches cooking class! It was an amazing experience overall. Youre hands-on, from cutting to grilling & preparing. I learned so many different processes of how to handle ingredients to even selecting the right ingredients at the market. The chef was patient and very knowledgeable. I cant wait to come back and try their other classes!

Went there today 7/27/19 around 2pm. They had RUDE employees (especially the middle aged female employee) on that shift. They need training on customer service. Crate and Barrel has very good customer service, people there are always willing to assist the customers.

Everyone seemed very annoyed to help us, if helping at all. Pretty terrible visit to a company that otherwise usually has good service at other locations.

Great experience while looking for a great quality knife. The salesperson was very knowledgable and informative. I was looking for a specific weight and style for chopping veggies. Being vegan, this would be my main tool. Purchased one for $150.00. I will have to hide this one from the teenagers whom might use it to open a sticky drawer.

Took a steak date night cooking class with my gf. I would never pay $80 per person for this, but I happened to stumble upon it when they were doing a sale! I didnt even know they had sales. Got them for half off.The class itself was really fun and it was something different to do with my bf. We enjoyed it. However, if you are coming here to eat, be disappointed. Because everyone is working as a class, the food might not be the way you like it. For me, the steak and potatoes were reallyyyyy salty and I couldnt eat it. Also, the portion per person is pretty small, it did not fill me up. I would definitely recommend eating dinner before or after the class. But as an experience, this is pretty cool.

They might be understaffed because they never seem to take the time to really help me find what I am looking for. When I stop someone to ask the just point me in the general direction. I went on a hunt for Ive cube trays and went looking through the whole store on my own first and couldnt see it. Asked someone and they told me they they were over the. Looked again, went back asked for help again and insisted that I looked and still couldnt find it. Only then did they go over with be to help me find what I was looking for.Ive gotten more help from the little shopping in the air than I have from their actual staff.

I took a cooking class at this place. The chef for this class, Eli, has to improve his teaching skills. For me, he was just reading a receipe (what I can do on my own), and didnt show us any cooking technic. What I expect from a teaching class is not to learn new recipes but to learn technics. The kitchen hand on this class was actually more helpful and gave a few advices on how to cook a taco.

I bought two peaugot salt and pepper mills and days later when i get an email from a competitor store WILLIAMS-SONOMA that their mills are 20% off i looked for my SUR LA TABLE receipt to go price match and get the difference refunded.i looked through my email account and i found no receipt!!! i checked my spam folder and nothing. i soon began wondering why i did not get even a paper receipt from Sur La Table.i came in person an addressed this horrible situation in which a young lady put me in last week, and a different lady tells me that there is no way of finding it in their cash register. basically she told me im screwed. the different lady had horrible attitude with me. they pretty much stole my 60 day return receipt that proves i did in fact bought them at Sur La Table.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE 👎🏼 👎🏼

First of all, this is a toy store for me.I like to play with all of these gadgets they have here. Unfortunately, most items here are a bit overpriced. If you want William Sonoma, you have to go to the other side of the mall.I came here because they were offering free knive sharpening until April 19. I brought my Santoku (I often confused this word with Santouka , as in the ramen place). Not all knive qualify, it has to be thick enough and long enough. Thank goodness I have a long, dull, and boring knive. Nice lady named Tracey sharpened my knive within 15 minutes (it was a weekday). It was a machine (hey, dont expect those water hand sharpened blocks for free! ) and it was nicely done.Ive not taken the classes here but have taken the classes over at William Sonoma. At WS, they will feed you samples and offer a discount on certain pans / pots that were used during the demo. I need to see if I can do that here.Theres a LOT of product in this store and not a lot of room. So I would recommend strolling slowly or ask an associate here, they are friendly. If you want to buy me something for my birthday, keep this place in mind!
