Although I never went to a single class and tried to drop those said classes because they could figure out where THEIR FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT did with my financial aid paper. So they now take my taxes til they get paid off. Im trying to file anything against them because they didnt even spell my name right on the paperwork saying they took my money. Joke of a school

A joke of a college if youre looking for a place to take your money and not provide any kind of an education you can do no better than Iowa Western. Do not go here for any reason. The entire place is just a scam to steal peoples money

Iowa western community college is great place! I really enjoyed it. its fantastic and a very nice place!

Its an decent college. The dorms are very nice for starter dorms. I would high recommend anyone try and stay at the village. Yes they are more expensive, but overall you get a ton more freedom in them than it any other type of housing. The food is medicore. Most of your professor will be wonderful.

Had a great experience. Affordable, credits transfer to most places and good instruction. Lucky to have it so close to Council Bluffs and Omaha. One of the best Community Colleges in the region.

Great JUCO sports college.

This was a great school to attend. I had more fun here than I did at my four year college I transferred to. If this college became a university I would come back.

I have very mixed feelings about this school. I am currently attending and have had made several changes to my academic program attempting to find what i like.With that being said; about 50% of the teachers are only part time teachers which ended up with 50% of my classes being cancelled, 75% of the time the teachers were late, unprepared, and uneducated on the online portion of the class (which was REQUIRED). I frequently taught myself the content and received little help when i did need to ask for it.Every time i was interested in changing my major, i would talk to the main adviser in the student center to make sure classes would help me and not hurt and make sure i was set up WEEKS in advance. Towards the end of the FALL 2018 semester i was made aware that a class i recently took would no longer help me and i would need to take the higher level of it. So i signed up for the winter classes to get it over with. Then received an email two days AFTER the deadline to get tuition back that i really dont need that class at all. It took my professor and new adviser 7 days to return two separate emails and a voice mail to only be told i was told to contact the wrong person and now must wait until winter break is over to even try and get in contact with someone who MIGHT help me.There are some great teachers there who deserve an award but you can tell the school is most focused on you graduating with a degree from there. Most people are attending here to transfer to a university so here is my advice for those : CONTACT YOUR UNIVERSITY BEFORE YOU ATTEND HERE MOST OF THE CLASSES YOU NEED TO GRADUATE FROM IWCC WILL END UP MEANING NOTHING WHEN YOU TRANSFER TO A LARGER COLLEGE!

Good teachers that care, but I had to send and resend papers to prove my divorce and I enrolled in classes knowing I was approved for financial aid. But they didnt do their part so it was never applied and I even kept emailing finaciql aid office for her to tell me again I had to send papers for my divorce which I did and It shows them on file but they never did anything with my student loans. So therefore I never got my books so I dropped classes before the deadline now they are trying to tell me I owe them 2000 dollars. Which I emailed about a week ago and they havent returned my email. So lame.

Wouldnt say its great but its not awful either, the majority of the professors really do care and are willing to take time out of their day to help students out and make sure you understand the content as long as they see that you are making an honest effort towards learning the material. On the other hand id have to say registration is complete hell as I had to submit my papers for enrollment four times and even then had major issues a few weeks before my first semester started. The communication among the student counselors and you feel more like a number than an actual person due to the lack of time they take to help you resolve your issues... not to mention they NEVER.....NEVER answer the phone.

The worst part about this school is the majority of the people that go here. Immature and obnoxious, I feel like Im back in high school. Other than that most teachers are great and its affordable.

I took classes for almost two years at Iowa Western and it was great. Everyone is professional and they always gave me the feeling that every student matters. Although, I never lived on campus so I have no opinion on the housing. Iowa Western is a great school to get started at.

I have never gone to school here, however their website is nothing to be desired. I was trying to help someone find their partner portal and IWCC thought it was a good idea to put it with their programs. Things that people probably dont really care about. Their staff did help me find where it is located, but I still have a hard time with the location.

A beautiful place to learn

The vet tech program is a joke. Dont bother wasting your money on this. Its not about how hard you work or your grades, its if the teachers like you if you make it or not. Im glad Im no longer in this program and have found another vet tech program that is WAY better.

As an ex football player here I know the ins and outs of this school. There are some teachers that teach very well, such as mrs. Hamilton and mr. Shirazi. However, if you come here as an athlete all I can say is run. The coaches lied to you about leaving this place with anything more than when you started. They will manipulate you and not treat you as people but instead as names on a piece of paper. Some coaches couldnt even bother to learn his name. The caffeteria, instead of treating the students first, decides to instead put on fine dining for other events and some nights all you are left with for options is the cereal. If you are an athlete dont come here. There are better programs out there that actually care enough to make you better. 1 star because there is a decent frisbee golf course and the 2 teachers mentioned above.

I was an international exchange student at IWCC in january 1998 trough june 1999, It was a wonderful place to stay, good teachers and nice people ... Thanks for everything Iowans

So far my experience hasnt been the best and we are two months in since school started. I think you should consider doing the housing stuff totally different from the way that its being done. Too many students in one area with one bathroom everyone has a different mission - meaning some sleep all day and dont go to class, and when the ones that do get to class and try to sleep the others are up all night making noise. Its a total distraction - the traffic in and out of the apartment from kids that dont have a kitchen - vs - coming over to the kids that do have a kitchen. Its too much money for what you get and I am not happy at all about any of this housing stuff. Now I am hearing that everyone moves out at end of Semester and then they have to move back in - who can do all of that? Now the campus otherwise is beautiful.Strongly considering other options!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beware they will seize your tax refund. Even though after 7 years they cant legally do it but they will. Theyve even sent the debt to a private collector and they still will seize your refund and it wont reflect it on your credit report. Law suit will be coming soon.

The IT programs are severely underfunded, and the Moodle/homework network is decades old and barely functions. DO NOT TAKE IT HERE. One of the main programming teachers hates their job and takes it out on students, creating a hostile environment to even ask a question. Plus, this person doesnt know the material they are teaching and insists on using older versions of software and textbooks. Youve been warned.

The best of the best is the professors. I am taking classes thereright now, the teachers are much better than university i was attent

So bad at helping you get assistance with anything, anything at all. But when you park in the wrong parking spot they make dam sure to give you a ticket and make sure they get their money.

Place basically ripped off my tuition and told me to deal with it. Sooo, screw this school! Don’t go here if you can avoid it!

Most of the professors Ive taken courses in dont care enough to help and they have favorites that they help more and when I asked for help I was ignored or they have a real nasty attitude. Not a way to teach!

The advisors are absolute garbage and have no clue what they are doing. All they do is refer you to their website. Ive obviously looked at the site and sent you questions about it.... Pretty sure if the site didnt answer my questions its your job to do so, oh thats right it is your job.Veteran Services has no idea how to do their job. Any question you ask them they refer you to the VA. Your job as Veteran Services is to find and answer the questions Veterans have about their housing allowance and benefits.Moodle is absolute garbage. It would be great, with the money you are making off of us, if you could provide your students with a system that actually works.Its sad because Im IWCC Alum....

I have visited the school and it was so beautiful and I recommend this school for any senior or junior in high school but the school is awesome to me.

Dont expect much, its a school for the most part. Big focus on athletics, so dont expect a world class anything else experience, but the instructors do try very hard

The only college out of three that actually helped me succeed. The other 2 colleges I went to didn’t care about students and their needs. This school and the teachers really helped me.
