This school is not good. I have had two children go here. The administration covers for staff that bully students. Not all the staff are bad, but there are some really bad ones. You can have written proof of bullying, bring it to the administration attention and they do nothing to retrain their teachers. They also do not keep records of grievances against their staff. I sent letters and documentation to the principal and superintendent and got no response. So when the offending teacher or coach mistreats a student there is no prior complaints logged in their records and you are back to square one.Kentwood also does not value parents. I Went into the school councilor with my child to change a class and after we had the change all set up, the vice principal and teacher took my child and pressured her to stay in the class we had just decided to drop. No call or discussion with me the parent..just two adults with power and a 14 year old making the decision to keep her in the class we had just decided to drop. They also did this to my son, but instead of coming to the parents they tried to pressure us into keeping him in an honors class by threatening him and sending us his parents, a menacing email letting us know we were parenting wrong and that he would not be on the high school sport team if he did not go back into the honor class we had taken him out of. Neither of my kids have poor grades, they are 3.4 and above students. It was about balance of life. A class with to much time doing homework and a busy life outside of school pursuing their passions. The school and teachers never came to us with concerns they just bullied my kids. When we voiced our concerns nothing was done and no documentation was saved in the offending teachers records. What the heck? Do not have your kids go to this school if you can avoid it. I think the office staff and councilors are great but the admin and some of the teachers are beyond shady. Stear clear if your able.

A decent highschool. One of the better schools in the Kent school district.

As a current student attending this school I can say its the worst school Ive been to mainly becuase of staff who arent willing to give help when a student reaches out to them.
