Our 5 year old has been enjoying classes at Satori for a few months. He has fun, looks forward to returning each time and is always motivated to earn the next stripe or belt! The team here does an amazing job keeping the facility clean and comfortable during the pandemic and we’re so thankful we are able to resume classes during this time. His Senseis are captivating and fun and perfectly handle these small little ones. Annette is wonderful with her communication and creates a super welcoming environment. We know there are a lot of great studios out there, but we will be sticking with Satori for the long run!

We love Satori! First attended in Edison and then moved to Cranford and attended there. Always welcoming, attentive to the kids, my daughter loves it. We did camp when my daughter was younger, she loved that too. The staff is very nice and very responsive with any questions or concerns. We are happy and have been attending on and off for at least 4 years.

My son joined the school at 3 years old and has been there over two years. He gets a good balance of fun and discipline which keeps him motivated. During the pandemic, the communication and class options (virtual v. in person) has been excellent. He is currently all virtual and enjoys access to instructors from other locations as well. I can go on about the cleanliness/organized dojo, but yes, excellent business.

My son is the enthusiastic student of the Satori Academy in Cranford, and we love so many aspects of his classes: from overall physical strength, to learning to focus, to being a team player, to understanding the concept of hard work to get to desired results!So when it came to deciding where to celebrate his birthday this year, he chose Satori Academy, and I happy he did so!It was such a great celebration, with a right mix of fun, engagement, competition and honoring the birthday boy! The folks at Satori are a great group! They have been very supportive and accommodating of all our needs during this very difficult time. We have been all remote during the pandemic and Sensei Annette is the best at responding to and communicating with us. Our girls look forward to every lesson!

Ive been going for a few years now. I started because I took karate when I was younger and wanted to start up again. The classes are amazing. Not that many people. And they give individualized attention. They work great with me with my autism too. They even do 15 minute private lessons if you ask them for help. The dojo is very clean, well taken care of, and very warm and friendly. The instructors are equally as friendly and are always there when you need them or just need to chat. This place keeps me coming back even on days where I dont feel like keeping up with my training or workout. And when you are away, they send an email out making sure you are okay. All in all, I would give satori academy of martial arts at Cranford a 5 star!

Cant say enough good things about Satori in Cranford. Two of my kids (5 and 3.5yrs) have been going for five months and its excellent. Having coached multiple ages in another sport myself, Im not easily impressed but they have exceeded my expectations. They are well run and the kids have fun while learning the necessary basics. Very happy we found this place!

I have been attending Satori Academy of Martial Arts for almost 3 years. Not only have I learned so much about martial arts, but I have also learned discipline, respect, goal setting, and determination. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the wonderful staff have made it possible to continue attending classes and advancing in my knowledge.

The people at Satori really know what theyre doing! Were extremely proud of the guidance our daughter is getting not only in the Martial Arts, but in life! They are all class acts!

This was the first activity we signed kiddo up for that he actually wanted to come back for. 6 months later still going strong. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I like their non-militant approach to teaching and correcting. The other students helping out also encourage youngsters and give them visible goals. I also attend classes. Each class is a workout, I learn a mix of traditional and MMA, and self-defense. I am in better shape, stronger, and love having an activity my child and I can bond over.

My children are happiest after taking class at a Satori and that is a testament to the empowering and kind discipline provided by all the instructors there. Being part of the Satori family means learning strategies for individual growth that is physical, mental, and emotional. Students are challenged but never pushed beyond their limits. The instructors set high expectations while celebrating the students strengths and encouraging a proactive approach to goal setting and achievement. They use effective strategies to teach leadership and responsibility. We are so blessed to have Satori in our lives !

I cannot say enough good things about Annette and the staff at Satori in Cranford. They are all so patient and understanding. My 4-year-old and 6-year-old both took trial classes. They were so happy to get a certificate at the end and started practicing right away. My daughter was unsure if she wanted to continue after 1 class and Annette even allowed her to come and try a second class. She was so helpful and so understanding. I cannot thank everyone there enough!

My granddaughter has recently started attending classes here not only does she love it I have seen more confidence and physical ability in the short time she has attended. The staff are excellent with the children they model, encourage and inspire them to work hard to achieve their goals and teach positivity while doing so. I’m so glad we choose them.

Satori Academy teaches kids and adults in a great way that gets them to learn while being able to have fun with it. Everyone is super friendly and you all just feel like a family. It’s a very welcoming atmosphere with very nice people.

The instructors, the atmosphere and the overall experience at Satori is incredible! Sensei Nick and Annette are incredibly patient and approachable, they are dedicated to work with anyone who is struggling, and make all age-leveled classes very enjoyable. My six year old son has been attending since the end of December and he absolutely loves it. He very happily goes 3 days a week and it has served as a great motivational tool for us. All of the teachers work great with kids, to create a super fun yet respectful environment. I would highly recommend Satori of Cranford!

I wanted to write this review how especially wonderful the staff has been during quarentine - they really care and have gone the extra mile with txts, Zoom meetings and private classes. I encourage every parent who is considering Satori for their child to enroll - they will not be disappointed.

These guys are the best. My son have some reservations about going here when he was about 5 years old and they worked with him and made him feel so comfortable that he now loves karate !His self-esteem is off the charts and even behaves better in schoolThey really know how to bring out the best in the kids and the class has done WONDERS for my son. The best karate school in all of central jersey... when my son first started it was a struggle to make him come now he absolutely loves it... the instructors are phenomenal... beyond patience with the children.. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a karate academy!!!!

My son is 6 and absolutely loves going to karate at Satori. The instructors are engaging, patient, and fun. We also had a birthday party here to do something different for a change, and all of the kids that attended had a blast. Satori also host anti-bullying seminars where students are encouraged to bring a sibling or friend so they are not only contributing to their students, but to the community as well. Cant say how happy we are to have found this place.. check them out!

Well into the back half of my 40s, I thought very carefully about the school I was going to join to finally teach me martial arts. Im glad to say that Satori was the right choice for me AND my young daughters. Satori patiently teaches all us novices and allows us to develop and learn at our own paces without ever feeling like we dont belong.

I have had two children at Satori for nearly two years, a 7-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. Each of my children learns very differently, and the teachers at Satori have been able to reach them both. I have been so impressed with the patience and dedication of Shidoshis Nick and Annette, the wonderful student/instructors and the schools commitment to focus, dedication and character.

We love Satori in Cranford! My son loves going to class and idolizes the instructors. The instructors are super patient and teach the kids confidence and responsibility while at the same time they have so much fun.

I took a free trial and i decided to stay. Sadly i had to move back home shortly after that and wont be able to go there anymore. But the equipment is great, the classes very welcoming,cooperative and helpful, and the instructors are excellent. They work very well with beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. I highly recommend!!

Satori Academy is awesome!! My son have gained confidence and learned to take o responsibilities. Also, hes very comfortable with his instructors. We love Satori! My kids idolize the instructors and look forward to class each week! The school is clean and they offer lots of projects to keep the kids engaged outside of class as well.

Both of my kids (4 year old boy, 7 year old girl ) go to this school and absolutely love it! The center is very clean and all staff are super nice and helpful. They are doing different types of martial arts and all senseis and senpais are knowledgeable and great with children. My children’s focus, balance and discipline have tremendously improved since joining the dojo. Wonderful place !

Solid instruction in each of the classes. The instructors come alongside you and help you meet your goals, they are enthusiastic about what they teach, and they are excellent role models in taekwondo! They also adapt the classes really well for all belt levels, white to black. Highly recommend!!

My husband, daughter and I all attend Satori Academy and LOVE it. Great exercise for the entire family. In addition, it helps develop self esteem, discipline, focus, and respect of others.

Satori Academy (Cranford) has been an amazing experience for my son. I tried Satori Academy out for my son using a Groupon I had purchased. We knew after the offer had ended that we would be signing him up full time. My son is often nervous or afraid to make a mistake and embarrass himself. The instructors are all patient but consistent with their training. A very healthy environment for children to work on their physical and emotional strength. Also all the students we have encountered from children to adults are super positive and helpful. Satori is a great place for any age or skill level to feel welcome.

I decided to try martial arts for my 4 year old son based on recommendations by his OT to help his Adhd and sensory processing disorder. After looking into several different places I decided to try Satori in Cranford and I am so so happy I made the best decision. His progress is unbelievable! They are so wonderful with him and I feel like its a tight knit family. They even send us little notes in the mail encouraging him and cheering him on! He loves karate and his teachers ♡

They really go out of their way to work with you and do things not only for the kids but for the families and the community as well. We found Satori over a year ago at the Cranford Street Fair. We knew we were in trouble when our little guy broke that first board. Our son, though he was never quiet, just lacked the confidence to believe in himself. Satori, through both Shidoshi Nick and Annette changed all that and he has become confident in himself and I truly believe it is because of this program... Highly recommend the Satori Academy and its team... no better place to learn Martial Arts in my opinion.

Shidoshi Nick and Annette are the best and are very knowledgable with the martial arts classes. Its a great place and everyone is so friendly. I teach Combat Fitness classes from Monday through Thursday night and absolutely love it! We have a great class and we are all like family at Satori Academy. Should definately check it out! Shidoshi Annette and Shidoshi Compton are absolutely amazing with the children! Our children just joined Satori, Cranford and they love it. Whats really great about this place are the instructors! They have a talent which is applied in such a way the kids learn and absorb what is being taught to them as well as the instructors approach in making it so much fun! Aside from all the technical aspects or martial arts, the discipline that is being taught, and the value system-- it is such a well rounded and unique martial arts studio I continue to recommend to other parents we know! We just moved here and my son had been doing Taekwando since he was three, but I totally see the difference in the approach and the coaching of these kids! We love Satori! Very, very happy!

The school is awesome! My 4 year old daughter has been going now for more than 6 months. The instructors (shidoshi Annette and shidoshi Nick) are very knowledgeable as well as patient with their young students. They know how to make children feel comfortable in their abilities as well as their class environment. My daughter loves attending her classes so we try to bring her in at least 3 times a week. She has thrived and learned so much. Now more focused and loves learning new martial arts techniques. Right now the students are working with nunchuks which my daughter absolutely loves. My husband and I love the curriculum at Satori. Our friends are commenting that this is the first school that theyve encounter teaching a blend of martial arts styles and techniques. As I post pictures and videos of my daughter on Facebook I get positive reactions from my friends and family. We highly recommended Satori of Cranford.

You couldnt pick a more professional and friendlier martial art school to attend. Nancy the owner, Shidoshi Annette and all the other instructors and very knowledgeable, kind and so patient! Their combatt fitness classes are also awesome for those who dont want to do Tae Kwon do but still get a great excercise class. Its one big happy family! The more the merrier!
