I was so impressed watching my kids in class that I joined them after a couple of weeks. Here youll see more experienced students helping less experienced students. Youll hear the instructor ask if that was your best. Then he asks for it to be a little bit better. This is a community where people can grow.

My son loves being part of this class. He looks up to his instructor with genuine admiration and respect and works hard because of it.I love that the focus this early is as much on their emotional/maturity growth as it is on the physical. Mr. Russo uses games to help them learn that one wins by trying harder and that not winning is motivation to be better.

Mastery Martial Arts in Cranston far exceeded my expectations. My grandson came from Kentucky to live with us due to his dad’s death. He was withdrawn, quiet and knew no kids in the area. Mastery in Cranston has been an amazing experience for my entire family. We left 4 years ago bc of my health & my son is elated to be back at 17 years old, a couple months ago. Feels like we came back to where we left off. Mr. Russo is a FANTASTIC individual for doing what he does. My son did championships yesterday, he had his form down packed. But he became nervous in front of judges & was not as confident. He finished his form & wished he could do it again. Hes overcoming his fears of being open in front of others. Maintaining that confidence is key. I hope by next year he walks up to the judges w even more confidence. Winners never quit & quitters never win. THANK YOU MASTERY!

My daughter joined Mastery in Cranston in May of 2014 as a shy 5 year-old. Under the instruction of Chief Instructor Mr. Russo, her confidence and belief in herself has grown by leaps and bounds. The determination shes developed there has helped her succeed in so many ways beyond just the physical aspect of martial arts. The results have been so good thatd my son and I have both joined her on the mat. There are a lot of activities available to help supplement what youre kids are learning at home and in school but Mastery Cranston is the best!

Highly recommend Mastery Martial Arts of Cranston! I shopped around for a few different places for my daughter last year. Upon reviewing, some of the other locations were hard to reach. This location specifically had a quick response, friendly staff, and we ultimately felt at home. The staff is super sweet, and my daughters instructor, Mr. Russo is attentive to each child. I plan on sticking around for a while!

Mastery is by far the best martial arts school in RI!! My son absolutely loves it there. Not only do they teach you the skills you need to earn your black belt; they also teach you how to be a leader, follow the rules, and respect. This is helpful not only to children but people of all ages. They take the time to really get to know each and every student and their parents. Mr. Russo, Mr. Rossi, and All of the staff at Mastery are absolutely wonderful! I would recommend Mastery to anyone! And they also have various locations which is great as well. Our son has been a student at the Cranston Mastery for 3 years plus now. Hes almost 9, has earned his Jr Blackbelt, and is working toward his adult black belt. Hes also done the very convenient After School program and also the Mastery Summer Camp.For him, and us, its not the belt that matters...its what it represents: hard work, dedication, teamwork, discipline, honesty, courtesy, integrity....and all that goes with that. Mr Russo, Joeys instructor, is the perfect mix of disciplinarian, coach, & mentor for him and all his students, wonderfully teaching not just those karate skills but also helping us teach the life skills and character our son will most definitely benefit from in his future.Theres a terrific sense of belonging for him, and us as his parents in Cranston, and theres not a student / family enrolled that would say otherwise. Its the best thing weve ever done for him, and we have the talented and affable Mr Russo and his great staff to thank!!

We are so very disappointed with our childrens experience here at mastery Cranston. We were very excited and had high hopes for our daughters future here but after three years the impersonal, unapproachable instructor has made it impossible. Sadly we will be taking our children out of mastery after three expensive hard-working years. We deserve to be appreciated and respected the way we did you!

After Researching And Drilling Mr. Russo With Many Questions, We Signed Joshua Up On April 26, 2018. It Was And Is The BEST Decision We’ve Ever Made For Him. He Has Made A Complete Transformation And Has Come A Long Way! He Is Able To Laugh, Smile, Use Eye Contact, Speak In Front Of His Classmates With A Loud And Clear Voice, Lead His Class As Well As Help Them When Needed. One Of His Teachers Were So Amazed That She Sent Me An Email Stating Out Of All Her Teaching Years, Josh Had Amazed Her With His Leadership Skills During His Detailed Health Project Presentation And The Way He Confidently Presented To His Whole Class With Such Confidence. Mr. Angelo Martinez kept the positive energy flowing and had the kids laughing and having the best time! The MIT kids were excellent! Unloaded my car, set everything up, kept the kids in step with the party, served all the kids, cleaned everything up, and packed up my car after the party. I was able to enjoy Jaydens 10th birthday with no hassle! Thank you Mastery for giving Jayden an memorable experience!
