We decided to pull our daughter out because after 3 weeks she was not adjusting and the excitement she usually showed for school like environment was gone after the first day. She was also having anxiety that was very unsual to her.We thought that maybe we chose the 4 day program too fast for her first year and that we were going to wait another year or find a more suitable program for her that has only 2 or 3 days a week. My daughter was attending a blended classroom where special need students and classic education students (tuition) were mixed. I thought that the extra staff involved due to that environment was not necessary and maybe overwhelming for my daughter who was a tuition student.I emailed the teacher and building assistant to the director to let them know of our decision. I took time to write an email letting them know that it was nothing personal, that we knew the staff was qualified and had no doubt about the quality of education she would have received. We made sure they understood we were happy with the district and the quality of schools in Crystal Lake (we have a first grader at South Elementary and are extremely satisfied) and that the teachers and staff was very likely as good. Really nothing against them but just that our daughter was unusually happy and decided to step back a little for her own good. I made sure i wrote the email so they understood that.Here we are today almost a week later and all i got was a quick, cold response email from her teacher that was lacking the basic acknowledgement of a letter/email: “thank you for letting me know and good luck”. Also, no response from the building director acknowledging my decision or letting me know that the necessary would be done for her administrative withdrawal, or tell me if i had anything else to do in the process. What a lack of manners for educational staff! I should add that i gladly said to keep whatever supply she had brought into the classroom even if she was leaving because i know how easily classrooms run out and not even a thank you or polite response from the teacher. I had to call to business office today to make sure that her removal was completed.So in the end i guess we made the right decision to remove our daughter because they showed their true nature right there and if they show the same poor attitude towards students behind closed doors then it now makes sense on why our daughter was not liking it there.Listen to your children and if it does not feel right follow your instinct!

My little one started her school experience at Wehde. I love the school and the staff, we have had an awesome experience!
