You can’t find a better martial arts school in NE Ohio. Bill Jones is the head instructor, and it’s easy to see that this is more than just a business for him. The coaching staff all have different styles, so no matter how you learn best, there is a coach to match your learning style. The schedule variety is awesome. There are classes all day, so you can find a time no matter what your schedule is. Lastly and probably most importantly, there’s no judgement. Everyone is more than willing to help you with any questions you may have. It is genuinely a second home and family.

I’m one of those guys that always wanted to try some sort of MMA but was always to nervous to start. After signing up for a trial period, Ed reached out to me and scheduled my first class. I thought that was going above and beyond. The whole team at Top Level Martial Arts school is second to none, just after a few classes with Bill, Ed, and Nate I can tell that this is a place I will be for the long haul. My girlfriend and I had our first free class at top level martial arts today, and upon walking in we were greeted with open arms into this technique of fighting and self defense. Starting off we learned fundamentals of the class and then practiced on our own to hone our skills the instructor, Ed was very patient walking through each movement that needed to be done and was explained very thoroughly. I can’t wait to continue with more classes from this location!

My 5 year old and I both train here. The kids class is entertaining for him and keeps his attention. The adult classes are easy to follow and very informative. While visiting family I stopped in for a class and was greeted with a warm welcome by a very enthusiast instructor. Kendal taught a great class on the crucifix with excellent details showing his knowledge of the position. The academy was clean and all the students were happy to see a new face. I had a wonderful experience at Top Level. The matt’s and areas were nice and clean, they cleaned between classes. The Instructors were all very engaging and kept the class humorous and fun. They made sure to answer all questions they could and encourage people to ask them. The other students were very friendly and easy going, no one got Agro or was overtly rough. All in all it was a super friendly atmosphere and I very much enjoyed my experience. I highly recommend anyone in the area go check out this school. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I have been sedentary and have had issues with RA for years and have been intimidated about getting back into anything remotely active.. I love Top Level, I can train at my own pace and I believe that I am receiving top notch training and I learn a lot from the other students as well.. 4.9 is no joke this place is for real. Great workout, BJJ is tons to learn and physically demanding, its one of the best things you can do for body and mind.Id like to update, its not AS physically demanding when you know it, but its either a good workout or you win, or both. Wheres the loss? You can workout and *think* you have what it takes when your life is on the line (strength alone), or you can workout and know what it takes to win in unarmed combat. Will you use it? I hope not! But when it comes down to it dont you want it in your back pocket!?!

These guys are great. They offer great instruction from beginner to advanced. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming. No EGO. They do great classes for adults. Ive showed up early and their classes for kids are so well run. The kids are engaged and having a blast. Highly recommend these guys for any age group. If you want to get in shape, defend yourself, or are just interested in learning more stop on by.

I have 3 children at Top Level. It has been a wonderful experience for them and Me! The flexibility of the schedule is very helpful with our busy schedules and large family. THE STAFF IS WONDERFUL! My children, 11 and 8 year old twins, love going. It has helped with focus and most importantly keeps them active. We have been with Top Level for aver 9 months and dont plan on leaving anytime soon!.

My 10 year old daughter has been attending classes regularly here since the beginning of the year. She absolutely loves it. My 5-year-old daughter has trained here for 3-4 months and I could not be more pleased with her progress. The character building, parent involvement part of the childrens program is amazing and the instructors really know how to approach training from a childs perspective. If youre looking for traditional Gracie Jiu Jitsu taught in a laid back, friendly atmosphere I think that Top Level is a great option.I am NOT a student at Top Level but rather drop occasionally for seminars and cross training. Bill is the antithesis of the authoritarian sensei while still maintaining a balance of professionalism and discipline in his academy.

I personally love the place. And as soon as my son turns 5 years old Im going to sign him up as well. Great adult class and instruction and instructors. They focus on self defense as well as competition. Just learning all the self defense techniques makes me want to teach others the stuff I learn. The kids classes are the best I ever seen. They dont only teach your child Jiu jitsu but also life skills which I find extremely important in raising your child. Cant say enough good things about Top Level Martial Arts!!

A great martial artist and a great teacher of martial arts are not always the same thing. At Top Level Martial Arts it never fails to impress me how competent the instructors are at articulating the smallest details of a technique on a level that makes sense to both my 4 year old and 7 year old. Bill Jones has assembled and taught an amazing cadre of assistant instructors that can only be to the benefit of any student who signs on.If there is any doubt as to the efficacy of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, I would recommend a little time on the mats as research. If there is any doubt about Bill Jones quality as an instructor of that style, I would suggest the same thing.

Instructors are fantastic, very disciplined with the kids but also caring. My son loves TLMA, he listens better at home and it has helped him to understand doing things correctly the first time.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of those things that you cant explain the value of it to someone whos never tried it. At Top Level, all ages and skill levels are welcome. At the very least come watch a class and chat with some students and instructors. I firmly believe that anyone who doesnt try it out is doing themselves a disservice.

On the one year anniversary of beginng my jiu-jitsu journey I sit to write this review. For thirty years I have been involved in the martial arts to some degree and I can truly say I found a home. The instruction is Top Level and classes are appropriate for all ages and skill levels. The journey begins with the individual, but you are not alone. I highly recommend taking time to check it out, the only regret would be an opportunity missed.

Bill and the other instructors here rock...theyre always looking to tie the lessons in the dojo to bettering oneself in life. Peer leadership is encouraged. Achievement is strongly encouraged but so is having fun. If a student wants to excel in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he or she gets the practice, knowledge and coaching needed. Bill and his team are also honest enough to acknowledge when (as in my childs situation) someone isnt suited to their program. The staff here genuinely care about the students and are in it for the right reasons.

If this is the first school for martial arts or BJJ youve googled, you lucked out, because you will not find a better school in the area.Many Brazilian Jiujitsu schools claim to have a no ego atmosphere, but do not deliver. Top Level truly has a no ego atmosphere; black belt Bill Jones and his instructors exude and reinforce training with one another to make each other better, not just to beat the opponent. Whether you are a 20 year old BJJ competitor or a 50 year old business woman just trying to learn self defense and get in shape, Top Level is the place to go.

Martial Arts schools are a dime a dozen. Some charge far more than a dime, such as $180 per month for one student, to just teach outdated, traditional, ineffective, and non-street defense oriented proclaimed self-defense. If you are looking to waste your time, money and energy search out those facilities. You will find them nearly on every street corner. However, if your goal is to develop REAL skills, knowledge and ability that will allow you to dominate and neutralize a threat or aggressive situation then look no further than Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (GJJ), which is taught at Top Level Martial Arts (TLMA). The GJJ taught at TLMA will allow you seize back control from an attacker and then give YOU the options of how YOU want to determine the conclusion of the conflict. It builds confidence, peace, physical strength, and determination that transcends off of the training mat and into your life, work, school, home and relationships. The instructors are Top Level and have been there, used it, and have earned their credentials to teach not by just showing up and attending class, but by sheding blood, sweat and probably some tears here and there in order to bring you the best training anywhere.
