The adult classes are the best in DFW. Whether you are a beginner or quite advanced, theyve got the class for you. It is an incredibly open and welcoming environment. Eileen, Deborah, and Ruth are particular standouts for me in ballet, but seeing the other classes they are also such high quality.

I’m in the ballet basics class and Marisa is super patient and helpful. She has a great balance of constructive feedback and encouragement. I truly feel that she is invested in my success as a dancer! I am extremely satisfied with the value and I love the community of dancers here. Everyone is truly so passionate.

Janika is an amazing instructor for beginner adult ballet classes. Ive only taken 2 classes with her so far and Ive already enjoyed the experience! She makes a large class feel personalized and she teaches in a way that anyone can understand quickly. I would highly recommend taking her beginner adult class.

They have an amazing adult program because there are so many evening options (for those who work) from which to choose. The instructors are really experienced and given this they really challenge to perform you best.

I took the adult ballet class taught by Janicka Arthur. It was only a 1 hour class, but I left feeling as though I had a full ballet class. She was very fun and approachable, while still expecting you to work hard and apply corrections. Would recommend entirely!!!!

I am a 42 year old woman who has studied all styles of dance since age 2. I grew up and trained right outside of NYC.Then as a young mother I started teaching ballet and creative movement.When I moved to Dallas, I started my research fir where to continue dancing and was thrilled when I found CBD!! Then I met and say down with Lindsey, the owner, and was even more impressed! This studio has a great vibe with positive and friendly students and staff. I finally got myself into a ballet class with Glen and a jazz class with Stevo. Thank you so much for reigniting my love for movement and expression through dance! I will definitely keep coming back because dance is my deepest passion and CBD is where I fly again😊💃

Everyone is so warm and welcoming! My five year old loves it. The class is fun and age appropriate while also instilling valuable skills.

I can highly recommend any of the adult tap classes offered by Terry Wolter. She is a great teacher for all levels. She gets the most out her her adult students by not underestimating what they can do and creating a positive and fun environment for learning.

Tonight was my third time to show up to the studio to take a class. The first night I wanted to take a jazz class, but the class had been cancelled an hour before the class, which I feel is not an early enough notice. Since I had already paid and shown up, the receptionist recommended I take another class, which I did. Then the next week, I showed up to take a hip-hop class, paid, and then the teacher did not show up. The receptionist had no idea why. Then tonight, I went to take a jazz class, and once again, the receptionist did not know where the teacher was. Fortunately, another staff member stepped in at the last minute to substitute, and I enjoyed the class. I am just baffled at how a studio so large can be so unreliable and unprofessional. I appreciate the talent of the teachers out of the two classes I already took, but if the teachers never show, what is the point? An unlimited month of classes for adults is $180, and that is a lot if classes are continuously cancelled without adequate notice. Another student at the studio had mentioned the same thing. We plan our day around these classes and pay for these classes. It should be handled with the utmost professional care.

I have taken the Ballet series 1 here and am on ballet series 2 currently. I love Ms Janicka! She pushes me harder and encourages me without putting me down. I love class and I have fun every single time. I know this all sounds cheesy, but honestly... I redound my passion for dancing because of this place

Our daughter has been a student here for 12 years (since 3yo and still going) and she has enjoyed it all. She has done tap, ballet, hip hop, jazz, you name it. The teachers have always worked with the students to encourage personal growth, self esteem, and confidence. Lindsey, Valerie, and the rest have been great.

Ive been trying to find an adult beginners dance class for months and have been pursuing recommendations from several dancers I know, calling around DFW. The staff at Contemporary are far and away the most responsive, informative, and helpful, from my experience. Quick with answers and recommendations, they obviously care about each students personal needs. Thats wonderful.

Ive been going to CBD for a little less than a year and am taking the beginner teen classes on Tuesdays with Miss Shelby and I love them. We do a lot in class to keep us in shape. On some days shell give us conditioning days where we just work on our core and arms and legs and stuff. But on that I wish we would be contacted before class cause they are random days she picks and I came prepared for ballet so I had to work out in a leotard and tights; not very comfortable. But other than that one of the best classes Ive ever had.

I took the jazz class on Thursday at 6:30 and that the lady that taught the class was very sweet and understanding of the dance level that I was in🥰!! she took the time to explain every thing, shes very patient and very kind!! Definitely looking forward to taking another class with you guys!!!

On year number 2 with this company and I love all my classes from ballet with Janicka to my hip hop and jazz funk classes with Gino and Stevo! All my dance instructors have helped me grow in my dance and my confidence. Love it here no complaints!

Ive been attending CBD for a few years now and Ive really improved my dance technique as well as made some great friendships!Adult Class Offerings:CBD is basically the go-to studio for adult classes in central Dallas. There are a lot of adult students at CBD, from complete beginners to advanced professionals. And no one judges anyone else. There is talent, but its not a diva crowd ;) I began dancing at a young age and love the intermediate/advanced classes. Ive also watched the beginning classes and they are just as packed. Youll see adult beginner men too, which is cool. Dancers can take everything from ballet to tap or hip hop. The schedule offering make it easy to jump in anytime!Instructors:They truly care about you improving your dancing. So supportive and friendly. They are also knowledgeable about the body and how to prevent injuries. They all come from professional backgrounds. Many (if not all) carry at least their BFA. Great staff!The Studio Spaces: Right across from Mockingbird Station makes it easy to get to class (ride the DART!). Most studios have big, open windows so visitors can look in. All studios have ample space to travel.The Front Desk: So professional, friendly and respectful. They are cheerful bunch. My only wish is that there was someone staffed on the phone regularly. I call on a Saturday morning, I always get voicemail.The Company: Im dancing in the company currently so this is bias, but I think we rock! Come see one of our shows!Website: Ask for the direct URL to the online scheduler. The main website is way too busy and confusing to navigate.Advice to Management:If I could recommend anything to CBD, it would be changes in the class schedule so that weekday classes of the same level did not overlap. For example... what about a Advanced ballet (say 6:30-8 pm) followed by Advanced jazz or modern (like 8-9:30). Intermediate/advanced dancers might take two classes per visit if the schedule allowed them to.

Ive been coming here for over a year. I attend Janickas adult ballet class, and previously I took her series class. The class is definitely difficult, but she walks around the studio and gives you corrections as well as praise.

Horrible quality of training and technique! Their recitals are the worst! There are better academies in Dallas for the same price!!!

Haven’t been to a class yet but scheduling one soon! Talked to Ashley on the phone and she let me know all about their classes and she was fab AF.
