Ive worked at MyComputerCareer for a little over a month now, and its been one of the best experiences Ive had as an Admissions Advisor. The trainers Ive had the chance to work with have been better than I could have asked for. They gave me the opportunity to digest all the information and fully understand the process before putting me on the floor. They take the same approach with their students/potential students as well; making sure they understand the program being offered & that theyre a good fit, opposed to just throwing people into a program to get $$ or higher enrollment numbers. They implement all 4 of their values; Love, Ethics, Excellence and Customer First, every single day.

I am an employee of MyComputerCareer Dallas campus and I feel blessed every day when I go into work. I started as a student wanting to one day go into some sort of security job preferably for the police department. I wanted a job where I could make a difference while enjoying the fun I.T side. Well seeing how the employees cared and changed my life not only career wise but built my confidence and love for myself something I had never had before. I decided I wanted to do that too! I am glad I did I work with bosses and co workers that treat me like family and when there is a student that has had something bad happen in their life I dont even have to ask for help to help my student evreyone jumps right in. From the bottom all the way to the top they care about student and employees. They ask us what we need to be happy and actually make it happen. I can imagine working anywhere else I love my job I love my team they dont just say they care they show it.

I know you may see five stars here but I do have something negative to say. Where was My Computer Career when I needed them? As a student who took about seven years to earn a degree from undergrad, completing a master degree program, and completing some PhD credits; none of that would have happened if I was blessed to know about MyCC. I not only wasted time and money, but postponed my future success. Don’t get me wrong there are benefits and going to traditional school. But the harsh reality is college is NOT the only option to reach success. If you would’ve told me at 19 years old I could potentially become a six-figure earner by earning 8 certifications, with only sacrificing between 7 to 10 months of my time. Traditional school would havent stood a chance (and I went to an HBCU....GO BEARS). Although my time has passed, I look forward to helping students just like me.

I had been attempting to apply for education under the GI VRRAP Program from the Military and no one there had a clue what it was. The professionalism wasnt good. I kept playing phone tag and one minute Rashetta Stevens says I was approved thru financial services and I have made several attempts to call back and no response. Not good for someone that has the means to pay you $24,000 for the course. I called up Divergence Academy and they had a rep on-site that got my application processed within 10 minutes and now they get paid and I am eligible for Housing allowance as well. I know alot of Veterans and I will be recommending Divergence Academy. Computer Career acts like they are doing us Veterans a favor and they didnt even come close to providing decent service 😒.

A year ago I was selling cosmetics at the mall. I decided I hated the stress of working nights and weekends, and finally took the advice of a friend who had attended MyCC and signed up for evening classes. Best decision I ever made.If you take full advantage of their Career Services, youll have a professional resume, attend a job fair or two, and possibly even have your first IT job before you even graduate. I was hired on as a temporary contractor about a month before the end of my last class, and a few months later its now a full time job!My very first entry-level IT job paid almost as well as the retail job I had for 11 years, and I finally have the work/life balance I need. I highly recommend MyCC to anyone stuck in a miserable job and wanting to make a change.

I recently completed the first program (class of March 27,2020-October 22,2020 W00t W00t!) and it has been a real pleasant experience. We were supposed to be on campus but because of the whole pandemic thing, with the social distancing, and the face masks and the hand sanitizer following a series of metro-tornados, we were given the opportunity to complete the 7month(31 week) course online during the day. So other than the school getting me to sign over a buncha money to them and picking up my wicked sweet laptop, I really didnt spend much time on campus. That being said, i cant comment on the facilities with its broken windows (tornado damage) or the or the cheerful receptionists (which they are) or any other aspect of the physical campus (5th floor of an office building). What I can comment on is the single greatest thing My Computer Career(MyCC) was gracious enough to make me a part of, the MyCC Family. These people are really something else. I have never felt more sure of myself when taking an exam before in my life. EVERY SINGLE one of my instructors wanted nothing more than for us to succeed. Mr. Michael Weekes who established most of our fundamentals taking the time to answer some of the most inane questions I could come up with. Mr. Ron Rigel taking the time to breakdown Linux and MIcrosoft Active Directory into terms I believe my 3y/o daughter (if she had the attention span, she does not) could understand and further replicate. Mr. Jon Currie explaining servers and server roles in such a way that I managed to take the exam with one eye closed and one hand tied behind my back, not at the same time. And last but most certainly not least, Mr Alpesh Patel. Now this guy, this guy here, like all the instructors and lab techs and anyone else on MyCCs payroll, is awesome. And I mean that because like all my instructors he called each and everyone of us if for some reason we did not show up for class. Not only that though, he made sure I mess up a good thing, by making sure I clocked in when I needed to to avoid the pitfalls of an attendance policy, which I am very familiar with. He went above and beyond any expectations I had of any teacher past or present. Making sure we had our assignments in on time. Giving us plenty of time to get started on homework in class. Taking me on my word that I would get everything into him, trusting that I would meet the deadlines. And I did. Mr. Patel also encouraged us to get our certifications and even helped some get previous certifications. Without his words of wisdom and encouragement I dont believe i would have passed my Microsoft Networking Fundamentals certification exam. In Fact, I still dont believe I passed it, and with a 92, I literally thought I bombed the test. But the information was so deeply ingrained into my head that I was selecting the right answer from reflex. And these are just the instructors, I know i said family. Four words, Career Services For LIFE. After youve completed all the work shops for building your resume and getting on Linkd In and what not you are eligible for Career Services. They will help you with your resume and find jobs, like actual jobs, not a day went buy that we didnt hear about students and former student landing jobs thanks to career services. Once youre in youre Family. Thanks MY COMPUTER CAREER!!

When I decided to make a career change from being a Head Chef, I called My Computer Career and set up an appointment and Rachel Y. Davis was the person working with me. I ran into a hiccup with funding and she made it happen to where I was able to attend classes. When I started class with Alpesh Patel, he made us feel welcomed and was very knowledgeable and he really cared about his students, so I was good with that. Then when I was in class and ready for my 1st exam in 20 years, I was nervous and scared of the outcome. Well I failed my 1st and 2nd attempt and lost all hope. I felt discouraged and upset that I had failed, but the school and the staff always made me feel like I can do and I will do it. Then it was time for my next certification exam and I studied and used all the resources the school provided and I went in confident and staff and student cheered me on and wished me Luck. I had passed my 1st Certification exam & I was so happy. I used what they taught me in taking the exams and studying and it worked. Then I kept getting the certifications every time I took the tests. When I was about 2 week from my last day of classes, Courtney, an amazing resume writer with Career Services, put my resume for a job and I was hired, and started the next week. I was so excited that now I get to get into the IT Field before I finished school! With the help of the staff at MyCC and also pushing me to work harder, I am now working for a huge anime company as a Help Desk Agent and providing customers with technical support. This May I got a call from Courtney asking if I would like to apply with MyCC as a evening Flex Instructor. I did and used all the tools that I gained at MyCC and also the previous IT interviews I has went through, and they call me a couple weeks later and extended an offer! I accepted the offer and now working with MyCC as a evening Flex Instructor and I enjoy what I do and now earning more money and time than I had working as a Head Chef. I am glad I made this transition into IT and I am so grateful for MyCC and helping change my life as well as my families life as well. Honest Review of My Computer CareerIf you want to be in debt for $23,000 for very basic computer/networking skills then this place is for you! This business model was designed or aimed at the person stuck at McDonalds or some other brutal minimum wage retail position. If you do have a HS/GED, some knowledge of computers and networking then just go to a third party site apply yourself and you can earn certs for a FRACTION of the cost.I would like to say I did learn a few things I did not know before attending. That being said if you have a good handle on the basics of computing then you can find a job as an entry level desktop support (majority of their programs). And do not need to attend this schools programs. The career services consist of writing a resume and CV and creating a LinkedIn profile. The career day is nothing more than a few (mainly job recruiters) companies with a few hiring managers that are overwhelmed with 100+ people staring at them hoping they will get a call back from a huge stack of candidates. You can and will have better luck going from recruiter to recruiter on your own.The programs and certifications that are offered are all very basic and generally cover the same topics from certification to certification. Meaning you will learn the same thing over and over with few different topics in each certification. The staff is generally good and care as that is what their job description entails (customer service). In closing if you cant get out of the retail space, do not know anything about computing and do not know how to write a resume then you will benefit from the programs offered at My Computer Career.- Honest Reviewer

I only got through the admissions interview and financial aid office before realizing this wasnt the school for me. Immediately upon walking into the main office, the admissions director was extremely rude to me and it was very clear that the recruiting office (the person that had called me was in another state) and the campus dont communicate very well at all. My recruiter set my time and gave me a confirmation email stating Central time, but when I arrived, I was told by the admissions director after arguing and showing my emails that I missed my time by an hour because they scheduled me in Eastern time. After finally sitting down with her, it was clear that she was just reading information from a script and could not elaborate any further on each part of the curriculum after being asked. I never spoke in person with Financial Aid, I was in a TeamViewer call and they had me fill out my personal information for FAFSA while they could see my screen on the other end. No further information was provided to me about the school or how they operate, and they were trying to proceed with payments and everything else before I left even though I made it very clear that this was not my only option for school and I was just checking everything out. Overall, not a great interview experience and the office staff was extremely rude to me from the beginning.

This is literally the worst school I have ever attended. I am a veteran using the GI Bill. The school accepts the GI Bill but has no veteran support on site, only civilians that do not have a clue about how the GI bill works. When you go for a tour, what they will tell you is that the schedule is very simple, only two days or nights a week. What they wont tell you is that, as a VA student, you actually have to be physically on-sight 17.2 hours a week in order to get the full benefits. When you enroll, they still do not mention this. Once you start class they speak to everyone about how things work for normal students. They fail to inform the VA students of the differences between their requirements at that time. I was over 100 hours behind before I finally figured out the hours situation for myself. Did the school do anything to help this situation out??? Nope, all i got were shoulder shrugs and Oh wells. I went to the CEO, Tony Galati, with this issue. All I kept hearing was how much he cared about the students, especially the veterans. I submitted a letter to his Dear Tony platform. The answer I received was more of the same. A generic answer saying how its out of the schools hands. Pretty much they got the money from the student, or VA in my case, and they no longer care.Another area this school praises is their Career Services department and how they will work extremely hard to get us employed by helping build a resume for us, helping us submit that resume, and holding job fairs. The only thing I can say about this is they did help me build a good looking resume. The other areas, however, I have seen little involvement in. The person on-sight in this department is only a resume builder. When I went to this person, and the campus director, 3 months ago and told them I was in a dire situation at work and seriously needed help finding another job, they acted like they were going to help me immediately and made it seem like my issue was important. They have done nothing for me in this department. I have submitted hundreds of resumes on my own and been able to get 3 interviews on my own. They have not helped in this regard one bit. This school has literally been a waste of my time. I could have went directly through CompTIAs platform, which also accepts the GI Bill, and received all of the CompTIA certifications this school offers and already had attained in a quarter of the time I have spent in this school. This school is on their 3rd campus director in the 7 months Ive been in attendance. That alone should tell you to stay away. One more thing, this is the only school Ive been apart of where a holiday or a tornado shutting down the campus will count against your attendance. They require you to make that time up.Please, please, please research other ways of attaining the certifications this school offers. There are faster and much cheaper ways to get the same thing this school offers. It is $23,000 per student for a 7 or 10 month program. Absolutely ridiculous for what they offer. For that much money per student there should not be the amount of disorganization this school has. IT IS A TERRIBLE SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!

Attending at the Dalls, TX campus. Great school with excellent instructors. I am in class with Alpesh P. who is an amazing instructor that wants you to succeed. If you need help, he helps you. If you need one on one time, he gives it to you. Anything you need to get you through a course or pass a test he will make it happen. Johnny and Shawna, who are in charge of the campus here, make sure that you are told about any hours you need to make up or who to get with in order to answer any questions you may have. John, the flex instructor, will sit down and quiz you or give you study material you need for taking a test. He also directs you to any websites that would have good additional information. Overall my experience with MyComputerCareer has been phenomenal. Also, thanks to Courtney, the career services director, I just landed my first IT job just over halfway through the curriculum. I could not have changed my life, and the lives of my family for the better without MyComputerCareer. Thank You!!!

I am halfway through the program here at the Dallas campus at MyCC. This has been a great experience all the way around. Going to school here is pleasantly different from anywhere else that I have attended school. Everyone here truly cares about the students from the top down and you feel it in a way that isnt phony. While the learning can be fast paced and a little intense, the program is excellent. The career services team has been great for me as well. I am constantly getting emails and phone calls about new opportunities and I am anxiously awaiting graduation so that I can begin with whichever position that I choose. The bottom line here is that if you put your mind to it you can and will succeed here. I am very happy that I chose MyCC for returning to school, and I recommend any one else considering a career in IT to do the same.

When I applied to this school, I was the Head Chef of Wabi House and didnt have a job for a month. I was wondering what I was going to do. I have seen the ads on tv for a few years now. I applied and was able to go to school because of my wonderful husband. He works and I go to school. On my 1st day I was scared and nervous and by the end of the day I was like did I make a mistake. I tend to think to much all the time which I hate sometimes lol. When exam time came I was scared to take it. Its been over 20 years since I took a real exam beside the food handlers certificate. I failed and was a low score. I cried and was alil depressed over it all. Well I have a second chance and again I failed. While a few classmates passed and rang the bell, I was having second thoughts about the program. Well the next course was a little easier and I passed that exam. I was happy but still dealing with testing anxiety, which hindered my abality to test good. Well I talked to to someone who helped me over come the anxiety. Then I started passing test after test and felt very happy and then came the Network+ exam and failed that one twice. I learn to tell myself that I have an extra chance after graduation and I am waiting for that day so I can take it. If you feel scared and like youre not going to make it youll never know until you try. Now I am 4 weeks till graduation and have 7 certifications. I passed the first course I took since it retired this July, we were able to take it before graduation. I was ecstatic to be A+ certified! I still have 2 major exams to take to get all of the programs certifications they offer. I pushed and gave it my all and since going through the program it became easier and easier for the exams. I received my first call yesterday from a possible employer! I was super excited but due to the time they needed to position filled I was not able to take it and they said they would talk to me after graduation so again you just have to want this enough and want a change in your life and great things will happen just be patient and push yourself it will be a lot of information at once but if I can handle it anybody can handle it! I am writing this extensive review because I want others to know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and take it one day at a time. I love the instructors I love the school they are very connected with you they want you to succeed and the flex instructor is amazing hes very connected with the students as well and I feel like I am part of the My Computer Career family. I am ready to get back to the workforce and excited to see what my future holds and just glad to be doing something that I have a passion for as well besides cooking technology is the future so why not make it your future. Thank you My Computer Career!!! 🌈🌈🌈

I graduated from My Computer Career - Dallas on June 2nd, 2016. My experience throughout was very positive. My instructor (Alpesh P) is a very caring, thoughtful, thorough and consistent guy! He is very knowledgeable in this field and I believe he truly wants each student to do their very best. The facilities are very nice. The hours were very flexible with my busy schedule. The staff was a joy to learn from and work with.Shout out to Courtney, Shawna and Johnny! Their tag line rings true! Higher income, better life. Or something like that.

Knowledge is power...literally...if you dont have enough certificates under your belt...you wont even make it to the 12 hour jobs...or not even a job..if you have at least up to all of them..they will consider you. This industry is picky about certain certifications. Fyi n certs are free up to 3 times for each certs then u will have to pay unless they changed it.

The staff is amazing from the ladies at the front desk, my instructor Alpesh went above and beyond the call of duty to get me across that finish line. The career specialist are AMAZING. The best thing about MYCC to me is they truly do want you to be successful, many school say this but the actions of the entire staff shows this on a daily basis. They will take the time with you to ensure your success. Thanks MYCC

Best choice so far! I lost my mother during this course and even though I fell behind a bit, the instructors here showed they cared about my well being and my success in this program by helping me get caught back up again. They do care about you if you show you actually care about the program. The bad reviews given are from those who probably stood by and waited and did not communicate enough. Communication is key ANYWHERE you go. So if you only communicated once or twice, that is little effort and you can expect little results. You get what you put into this. The staff here are very friendly and Im glad I chose Dallas and not any other location!

80% of the reason I went to this school was because of the career services lifetime assistance. When I ask for a list of recruiters in the areas of Houston, they gave me 8 phone numbers, 4 of which werent in service, the other 2 being not current. This tells me that there are 2 recruiters they know of in all of Houston and that all the students are basically competing with those 2 recruiters. Somehow, spamming my email with daily job leads that I could have found myself on indeed or some job posting site is supposed to fill the gap in the mean time.I attended their Career Fair and less than half of the Recruiters showed up, iirc about 6, when there was supposed to be around 15+?Later I was contacted by some person whos position is to ensure I wasnt screwed in my experience with MyCC and even he took the path of least resistance and I never heard from him again. Basically my certificate looked like it was a forge job gone terribly wrong that to this day I will never show an employer, the replacement they sent me was basically a wadded paper ball by the time I got it.This program can ultimately be done on your own with material you can buy for much cheaper than 20k. Buy yourself a laptop (a cheap IBM Thinkpad or Dell M4600) get around 16GB RAM + Book materials and when your done you may have invested in about 2k, and thats being generous)I honestly regret having come to this school, I went here in 2011, got most of the certifications offered (save for 2) and have yet to find any sense of stability. Now the certifications dont make sense to offer any specialization. They got rid of Windows 7, config along with the corresponding 2008 server certs in place of Server+/Mobility+ and 3 light MS certs that dont carry weight.By not going into this school, you can decide what you want to specialize into, without the price tag. I recommend A+/Network+/Security+ along with knowledge of migrations since Windows 7 will lose support in 2020.Military should definitely avoid this place, if you get called back in from reserves the school will leave it to the VA to handle and since your not in school they will ask for a refund, a great classmate of mine had this happen to him while he was preparing to head back to the middle east. That being said, George and Michael of the Dallas campus were great instructors, even if the support staff was terrible. As a school, they should be able to get vouchers at a discounted rate for students, and they can, however you will fight support staff to do so. I studied for the Security+ on my own and inquired about a voucher through them and holy hell did I have to fight them to let me do it.Overall, I would not come here.Removed a star because of the sudden influx of super positive fake reviews that have even to seemingly review the full service that is being provided. I hope I am not the only one that finds it suspicious that each location had a bunch of brand new amazing positive reviews all about 3 months ago. It makes me sick to think I once thought this school to become a turning point for myself and others. It seems this school now has an odd relationship with the truth.I was never in a panic for not having a job, I wanted a job to stay relevant in the field of IT. In fact I did not work for the remainder of the year and just worked on my BSIT from WGU. A school I shouldve gone to, to begin with. You guys never found me a position, anywhere. Careerbuilder is what got me my positions, as well as indeed. Anything else is pure fabrication on your part. But you have problems with the truth after all.People looking at this review. Compare this institution with Western Governors university. Compare what you walk away with and their prices. Decide for yourselves, what truly is the better value?Jobs with partner employers eh? Care to mention whom? Or did you submit on your behalf in order to meet threshold? I wouldnt put it past your staff, its why its a revolving door in Irving.I dont even have to interview anymore thanks to WGU. My credentials sell themselves.

They make a great effort to get you there (several calls and emails), provide a sales pitch, tour of their classrooms, and have you submit a FAFSA and Sally Mae Loan request. Apparently in the process, they (MyComputerCareer) also run a credit check on you, so expect 2 hard inquiries to your credit (Sally Mae and MCC). I dont recall signing anything to allow them to run an individual credit check. Everything I entered was from the FAFSA and Sally Mae websites at their location. They said the lady who handles the results of the FAFSA would call back the following day with results of what I would qualify for. Havent heard from them since, not a single email or voicemail. At this point, I am losing trust in them. *Update* Shortly after posting this, I received a call from the director that I worked with during my visit. He asked some questions that did not match up with what I received during my visit. Apparently I should have received instructions on additional steps to do with FAFSA. Unfortunately this was not mentioned while I was there, nor did I have any papers in the folder they provided that mentioned this. I am still leery of this program - though have not found much in terms of negative feedback online.
