It was my pleasure to visit the kids during the Conns hero events these kids are expected about there principal there teachers and excited about learning and their principal has something in place that is perfect shes instilled in them that they can all go to college

I am writing a review because I have a 5 year old speech delayed , autistic child whos understanding is not on his grade level.. The teacher he has Ms. Chapman has not seriously taken his disorders into consideration.. This is his first school year and in called for every little thing from his not listening to his not sitting still.. Im there whenever called upon.. But I get the impression that the teachers want you to do their jobs as well as your own..My child is very well behaved at daycare and I know this new found behavior is found within the classroom at school.. Ive seen the students try biting at the teacher climbing on top of shelves and much more but the teachers cant control the children .. And trust I dont expect the teachers to raise our children and I expect that every parent such as myself is as involved with their child as I am I just dont feel that they take the fact that every child is different seriously and that their learning abilities are much different.. PPCD is a class for children with special needs and they should have teachers that can provide what is needed for the children.. I taught my child all that he knows now from the age of 18 mths.. So their work shouldnt be that hard with him.. Hes an only child and is not around such behavior and I know that the behavior is being picked up in class.. So now Im the one who is supposed to punish my child for what he is learning from other children in his class.. Not gonna happen..

Im writing this because the school that my daughter attends does not care about anything but a paycheck.  Some how some employees believes that bullying is OK and normal for children. It is not normal and Im beyond exhausted that my daughter, whos 8, is a victim of bullying and theres nothing being done about.  I have contacted the school board several times this year and still nothing has been done.  Ive went as far as requesting that my daughter be moved to another class, that could not be done either.  Ive also requested that my daughter be placed in isolation, that was done and my daughter liked it but I shouldnt have to move her in any disciplinary class just to be away from bullies when the bullies should be the ones isolated period.  My daughter does not enjoy school anymore, her grades are going down, she has even been writing and having alot of questions regarding suicide.  The school has had knowledge of all of this from the beginning of the school year and still nothing is done about it.  Today 2/24/2016 was the very last straw.  Two 4th graders goes into my daughter 2ND grade class and threatens to beat her up in school as well as after school and said more harmful things. My daughter is beyond frightened that she runs into her locker and cries hysterically while calling myself and her grandmother.  When i arrived the principal and assistant principal did not have time to talk to me therefore i wrote a statement that said that I would be contacting the school board again as well as news and radio stations and I then left with my daughter.  Soon as we were getting ready to drive off, both the principal and assistant principal mysteriously had time to discuss this situation, but all they were worried about was why my daughter had her telephone at school and had the nerves to try to blame the 2ND grade teacher for what happened.

The PPCD program started out AMAZING and there has been many challenges this school year. The kids lost their teacher assistant and boy can we tell she is gone. See working with children with special needs is a calling and it takes a strong person to WANT to work with these children and not everyone in your school has that calling. My problem is with staffing, just because you have a warm body in the building doesnt mean they are supposed to be placed anywhere. I have called the district about my concerns several times; spoke with several people and nothing has happened, people tend to respond different when its not their child. Nothing against the person they threw into the PPCD classroom, she is just doing the best she can under the circumstances. But as a parent I can tell when someone is not comfortable around my disabled child. So as a parent is hard to see so many changes in your childs behavior as well as academics because the classroom environment had suffered a lost and no one seems to care. NOONE IS THINKING about the kids. These kids deserve consistency and stability. They deserve to be taught by someone who respects their differences. #concernedmom
