Aleliya did an amazing job on my hair!! I haven’t gotten it colored in years so when I finally decided to go for it I wanted something that was subtle but different. She gave me exactly what I asked for and I could’nt be happier with the outcome! The cherry on top was the added neck and shoulder massage at the end of my service. The atmosphere is wonderful and I love helping students. The educators are always there checking the work, but honestly, the students already know what they’re doing. It’s a great experience!

Hi,I have been going to the Aveda Institute, many times and most time I had a great experience, yesterday it wasnt different. The student working on my hair was great and super nice, she is actually graduating tomorrow. The instructor showed me a picture of what she was proposing, my only request was that I didnt want to process the ends and I dont like orange... my hair didnt turn out like the picture they showed me.My main concern when I got there was because the balayage I tried to do (myself) didnt work out very well and some strains were orange. So my main concern was with the orange... I wasnt thinking on getting a full head of blond since my hair is very thin and I didnt want to cause much damage to it... Well, the instructor told me that because of the time it would take to process by highlight or balayage, it would be better and faster to do a whole head of cool blond. Again I said as long as I didnt get out of there with any orange on my hair I would be happy.Well, see the result. There is plenty orange, I made a comment while I was there, and today when I woke up, the orange is even more in evidence.

They are friendly and willing. To give the best experience. Their products are the BEST.

After the initial consultation with the floor supervised she hardly check on the student.. who had the blow dryer to hot and was hurting me.. to the point that that another supervised had to finish my blowdryer.. very upsetting because I always had amazing experiences with the staff😩.. leaving the the lady unattended.. 👎

Never get the color I ask for and unusually have to go back for a color correct. The last time hair came out two different colors:one color at the top and one color at the bottom. They make poor decisions. They went with Demi permanent color on. It time and permanent color on top. I just don’t understand why!?!?? Especially when I asked for dark chocolate color. Should have been very easy and straight forward.

This place is fascinating. i really enjoyed going here with my mother to get facials. they are gentle as possible (except for the exfoliation but it’s impossible to be gentle there haha) and everybody was so sweet. they are so friendly and lively and it’s interesting because you are essentially what the students practice on! no worries though, they are very talented and know their stuff. my only problem is that the products and facials can be a tad bit expensive, but still very nice nonetheless

The esthetician Nicole was amazing and accommodating and gave a full service that was great! I look forward to another service from her. However, beyond her control, there was no music in the room we had and the people in the hallway were extremely loud, so despite the excellent service, it was not the 90 minute relaxing experience I had hoped for and paid for. Which was a shame... If you cant control the noise (which seems controllable), just put the client in a room with soothing music to overpower and offset that. SIGH.

Every time I come to this salon the experience is amazing, this time was not the exception. After my appointment I felt pretty, confident and actually it was really needed as this day I was in the blues. Thank you for making my day better, pamper me and making me feel beautiful.

Had a pedicure, so you sign a waiver and yet they still barely do anything, what’s the use??? I could have done what they did myself. Well, they say each experience is different and this first time experience was not to good for me , but let me add the technician was sweet, professional and friendly and of course she must abide by the rules, she’s the only reason I gave 3 stars otherwise it would have been one star!

I came into the salon in hopes of making my blonde and brown hairs lighter and I was informed that it wouldn’t be possible because of one previous color and that aveda colors doesn’t lighten past one level. I then see on Instagram that a person of a darker color than mine and plenty of coloring history was able to go from brown to blonde in one appointment. I called to speak with the operations manager and will do a second consultation.

I was so impressed with Aveda! From the time I walked in, I was treated special. Gillian was the student who did my cut and color. She was amazing! Her educator (I believe her name was Chloe) was exceptional. I love my cut and the color is awesome. I would highly recommend Aveda to everyone. Going back next month!

This was my first time going to Aveda and I had a wonderful time! Very clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgable. My stylist was Aleliya and my hair came out perfect! I had my hi lights touched up and toned gold. She advised me on better products to use on my hair and wouldn’t let me leave unsatisfied, even if it was taking a while. I will be going back to her in 6 weeks!

Although they are students, not even the one going back over the hair cut fixed my daughters hair cut. now we have to wait about 2 weeks to fix ot because I dont want them cutting it any further. Im not sure what happened because the master person usually fixes it all up....

I had Aleliya Thursday afternoon. I was her last client of the day and she still took her time to ensure I was happy before leaving. She told me all about the products she was using on my hair and we had great conversations. I got a trim and added in some layers. She did a great job and I am very happy with how it turned out!

I have been coming to the Aveda Institute for years. Ive met many students and even stayed with some all the way to their graduation. I came in a couple of weeks ago for a root re-touch and Aleliya M. was amazing! She listened to what I wanted and asked questions to make sure we were on the same page. I was Aleliyas last guest of the day and she stayed a little longer to add on a service I requested at the last minute. I cant wait to see her again in a few weeks!!!

This was the worst haircut of my lifetime. Place is going downhill big time. No customers and very few students. Everybody is new. I brought a picture of what I wanted and I ended up looking like a mushroom. They dont know how to blend the hair after using clippers. The worse was it was done by the TEACHER not the student. Stay away from the curly blonde teacher. No more AVEDA for me. I am wearing a hat so people dont stare at my haircut. Judge by yourself.

I always enjoy coming to the Aveda institute for services. The students are guided by the educator so the experience is usually spot on and I am able to help a student learn while getting half price services. It is a win win for all.

Ive been getting my haircut here for the past 4 years, and always have a knowledgeable student that makes it a point to have enjoying experience not just for myself but for them and its always good to be unique with having long hair. Skyler, is one of the students that assisted me and she is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and made my recent experience a great and enjoyable one. I always recommend many others to to school not only because of the students, but also the environment.

Staff was very nice. They go beyond to make sure you are happy with there service.

The students seem to receive a comprehensive education even before taking clients to continue their skills in a real setting. The teachers are always available for them to ask questions and constantly walk around checking on the students to offer tip and advice. The review what the student is going to do before they start, usually check in again while they are working, and then perform a final check and help with adjustments for the perfect cut or color if needed. I never worried about whether I was going to walk out happy with what was done to may hair because I knew that they would work to make me happy.

I just had the most amazing massage at Aveda. The student and instructor were very skilled. I have had a lingering pain above my temples that I never realized was connected to my jaw and thus my neck. It seems unbelievable that I have been to SO MANY massage therapists and chiropractors and not one ever thought to touch the temporal region above my ears and TMJ muscle. Both have hurt to the touch for years, but it became my normal, so I dismissed it daily. When Paula mentioned this was also connected to my neck and shoulder pain, everything finally made sense. Thank you Evanna and Paula for helping me! They took their time and really listened to my concerns. My jaw is in significantly less pain, as are both sides of my temples, neck, and shoulders. I will be coming back next week!

First I would like to say if I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT EVER GO HERE FOR ANY REASON!My daughter made an appointment for a cut and color. When they bleached her hair it came out spotty and turned orange. After this the teacher and the director got involved. Needless to say they put toner in her hair, made her sit in the back by the sinks (which we believe is because they didnt want anyone else to see how badly they screwed up her hair). She was there for 6 hours while they tried to fix their royal screw up. Now her hair is over processed. Then they still charged her $94 for their screw up.Oh and by the way Aveda thanks for doing this the day before her highschool graduation. Not the teacher nor the student ever told her the possibilities of what could happen with bleaching her hair.Worst experience EVER!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! One star because I cant give 0. My sister made an appointment for my 3 nieces and when they showed up, they did not honor the appointments. Claimed the appointments were not in the system. My sister drove from BOCA to DAVIE and still they did not even try to accommodate them. They made a comment that they had 6 stylists that called in sick, which makes me wonder what health protocols they are taking or if that was even a true statement. Either way, it was despicable. I have been going to Aveda for years, I buy their products, I recommended it to my sister and friends, but this is so disappointing that I am done with that place!!!! I will never go back and will tell everyone I can of this terrible experience my sister and my nieces had and how they did absolutely NOTHING to make it right, so they basically called her a liar. Thats what happens when a business is run by entitle, unempathetic millennials!!! BYE AVEDA, NICE KNOWING YA!!!

Theyre highly unprofessional. Weve booked appointment and when we reach there theyre like we dont have time left to finish so please reschedule, I was like why dont you did it on the phone earlier. Also, next time we went there they didnt have enough colors and they told us to reschedule - imagine being told to reschedule after you reach there. People book 2 weeks in advance and clear their calendar and the staff is rude and unprofessional to this level ! Pathetic.

This was my first visit and I went for a full color. I have never considered Aveda before now because I didnt know if they were trained to work with black hair. I also did not know what to expect as these are students styling hair so when I booked online I requested a senior student (the price is higher).When you enter, the institute is basically an Aveda store. And a big bonus for me (I love aveda products) is that they carry a lot of products that have been discontinued in the stores, like the Brilliant line.The students are assisted at different stages of the process by a professor who will spot check to make sure all is going well. They (Beverley/Rebecca) asked me questions and did a thorough consult with me before the service about the color and my hair (I had henna at one point so that was important to mention) to make sure everything went well. The color was not exactly what I showed them a picture of but it actually turned out even better than I planned!Kudos to my stylist Beverly for a wonderful hair experience!

My wife Linda had an appointment with Kendra Friday August 21st 2020 at 1pm. The institute itself is huge inside and beautiful. My wifes color and cut is outstanding. My wifes opinion is the instructors their and staff are quite gifted and most professional, happy and have complete knowledge in all aspects of haircare. Going here is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a student who does a fantastic job, and sometimes not. Today was one of those days. The haircut is okay, but I definitely dont love it. I think he was probably a newer student, and rather unsure. Next time Ill make sure to book a master student!

Had a wonderful appointment with the student named Manuela! She has a little Pink bob. She gave me exactly what i wanted and was super easy to work with. She along with her supervisor Eric were an absolute delight. I hope my future appointments are with Aveda students who share that same warmth and enthusiasm with their guest. I highly recommend her!

I had been here a few times for different services and they all went well. My hair is really curly and I got a hair cut. I told them specifically that I do not want bangs, just a face frame. The teacher decides to cut almost 5 inches off the front of my hair leaving me with curly bangs above my eye brows... Its a real mess. I am so disappointed. My hair is not even salvageable when curly. I did have a facial before that and it went amazing. But the haircut ruined the entire experience for me

Aveda was recommended to me by a friend. So happy I went there! Got a haircut. Covid-19 precautions were adhered to from start to finish, very professionally. The hairstylist, Kayla, listened to my request. She and her advisor worked with me and I am so pleased with the results. I have frizzy curly hair and they understood how to style it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Great experience, a great value, great outcome, and the products are wonderful. Thank you, Aveda!

Let me first start stating I never care to write reviews because every businesses has a bad day. But this place has multiple bad days. The teachers here teach their students horrible practices and horrible customer service. They cancel appointments without not giving clients a call multiple times(mind you). We gave many chances to this place. Very unprofessional. Staff is very rude. I had friends get haircuts here and they were displeased. I understand they are students but the teachers are the ones to blame. I would HIGHLY recommend getting your haircut at a Supercuts or a random person on Craigslist then go to this dump. Please take my advice and seek your haircut elsewhere where they treat you like a customer. Thank you ! 😉

My layers are awful and so choppy. I can’t believe an educator let me walk out of the salon like that. I didn’t get a mirror to view the back in the salon so I only saw the mess they made of my hair once I got home. Half my hair has been cut off even with a master student 😭

I’m pleased the instructors are upholding the golden principals I was taught 30+ years ago! The students are true professionals! The session begins with a soothing foot soak & continues with your choice of aromatics to create the mood & atmosphere you need to refresh body & mind. The massage therapy rooms are softly lit with relaxing music playing in the background. Always a pleasure to visit Aveda!

Brie is one of the students cutting hair in the salon. This is the 3rd time I cut my hair with her. The 2 previous haircuts I had with her looked great for the entire 6 weeks between cuts. Received many compliments. Brie is full of life and joy. I recommend her.

I visited this month for the first time, after easily requesting an appointment online. First appointments are at 9:30 and the check-in process is simple. I thought I had requested a Masters level student (almost ready to graduate) at $18 for a cut, but instead was assigned to a regular student for a $12 cut, which turned out great. My student, June, was wonderful. (She has been there for several months so is apparently half way through the training.) She asked for my request and feedback and listened carefully. The two instructors (Carley and Melissa) were great. They did approximately half of the cutting, and explained each step to the student clearly, in a way that showed their competence in their skills while also building the students confidence. I was out by 11 am so the experience was only 30 minutes or so longer than if I had gone to a salon. And I paid only $12 instead of $70 or more. I am already looking forward to the next cut. Note that after you book online you can call to add other appointments (facial, nails).

Today was my first time here. I was able to get a same-day appointment. The check-in process was very easy. They even offer you water or tea. Staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. They gave me a great haircut, and the prices are very reasonable.

Emma did a great job on my haircut and really listened to what i wanted done. She also took her time but didn’t have me there all day which was a major plus for me because i work overnights so free time is rest for me. I’ve had multiple haircuts before this one where i paid $60 or more and they don’t even compare to how good she did and how good she made me feel.

Love it here. They have hair services, and spa services. I get facials, and hair color and cut. Sometimes I just go and have them wash and blow dry my hair.

I love Aveda! I have been going there since they opened. Yesterday I had a root touch up and hair cut by Savannah. She was great! Abigail helped with the cut since it was something new they learned that morning. I used Smiley the last few times who I also adored. Glad she will be Aveda certified, but had to transfer to the GA location. I love all my Aveda hair products as well. The only thing negative point I have to say is that you have the highest turnover of educators. Being a business women that speaks VOLUMES. As an HR manager for an extremely large corporation it signals you all have a problem. Something to think about. Treat your people great and they will treat you great.

Celine was great and she did a great job on my hair. Also just wanted to add that the root touch up with a blow dry was $36.00. My regular Aveda salon charges $95.00 for the same thing. Since Im trying to save money right now I decided to go to the institute instead. Very happy with my decision 😊.

I love this school… whether I have a concept or a master student, my hair always comes out beautiful! ....educators are there to guide the students, everyone is friendly , down to earth and the cost is nothing compared to a salon!!!

I have had my hair cut , colored, had facials and massages by students for several years now. They are supervised by professionals and do an excellent job. Your helping them with there education and you get a great price.

I was referred to Aveda and couldnt be happier! I had a wonderful pedi and amazing hair styling!!! My only regret is that it was my stylist last day!!!! She, Ellie, was kind enough to write down the directions for next stylist to follow. I will definitely be a long term repeat customer. I’m done. First time I had my hair cut and colored was great, second time not so great. Left with conditioner still in my hair. Had to wash it out when I got home. Cut was very choppy. “Educator” who reviewed the haircut never even put her hands on it. But today was unbelievable. I had a 3:15 appointment, even got a text reminder. Called at 2:45 to advise running about 10 mins behind they told me I didn’t even have an appointment. Got disconnected from first person when she was transferring me to the front desk. Called back again was told the front desk cancelled my appointment for “no show” and that the front was not accepting phone calls. Then explained a lot of students have been calling in sick. Obviously I’m not the “no show” because it isn’t even 3:15 yet. So they just cancelled my appointment without even calling me to advise. Had I not called I would have driven 40 minutes for nothing. This place is not worth the discount. Sub pair services and total lack of professionalism and customer service.

I’ll give you an honest opinion, these girls pay $20,000 tuition for the course and this place works them like dogs way past the hours they are scheduled for. This “Academy” is the biggest scam in the cosmetology industry in South Florida. They push their Mediocre products for profit, they accept clients after a reasonable hour of completion. Stop Being cheap and go to a learning Salon that looks out for future stylists. This place is a sweat shop. Shame on this “Institute”

Had about the worst experience here. I came with my friend to get her hair dyed, and I asked a simple question about the coloring. The instructor (not the student) who’s name is Carly decided to give me the worst attitude. She went off on me then a little later she had someone else kick me out. Leaving my friend alone. I’ve NEVER been treated like this in my life. The ladies who are running the place did not care one bit. They don’t care about their customers it is all about money (which it is like a lot of places), but this experience was terrible. It made me not want to buy aveda products or ever comeback. If this is the way they are teaching their students to treat their customers I feel so bad for them, because no customer will accept being treated this way. DO NOT GET THE INSTRUCTOR NAMED CARLY. Ask for a different instructor.

I have frequented this Aveda numerous times and find that the staff and students are quite accommodating. Of course, they are students and learning so occasionally there may be a need for some patience. On the whole, I have usually been satisfied with the services I requested, which are color and cut. Being an ex-hairdresser and make-up artist, I understand the difficulties that might arise with different patrons. Im confident the students and supervisors do try to do their very best with all the clients that need attention.

I went for a facial while I was pregnant and am going now for hair or massages. The products are pricey but thats expected from clean products. Love the staff(students?). Overall great experience.

Ive been coming here for more than 4 years. I had great experiences, and some not that great. When the result is not what I expected theyre always promptly to accommodate and help fix whatever needs to be fixed. I read several not good reviews (to say the least) and it seems that people forget that this is NOT a salon, it is a SCHOOL. Services are done by students who are learning, yes they are slow, yes some of them are scared as hell to deal with difficult people for the first time. So if youre not ready to deal with that, then by all means go somewhere else, instead of bashing the STUDENTS. Products are great quality, and prices are good. If you dont like something, just say it (with good manners of course, no need to be rude), everybody there will be happy to assist. It happened to me.

This was my first time and I have to say I was so incredibly happy with my experience! I was greeted cheerfully when I arrived and my stylist came out to greet me withing 2 minutes. I did not feel any pressure to purchase extra services or products (albeit I did actually choose an extra service). My stylist was easy to talk to, made valid suggestions for creating my updated hair style, and engaged me in the whole process throughout my time in her chair. Im extremely satisfied in my hair care needs being met - above and beyond what I expected.
