The folks who work out here at great. Nice staff. The gym has many amenities but it sorely lacks maintenance and cleanliness. The pool is rarely heated appropriately and needs a really good scrub. So do the locker rooms and workout area. At other gyms you saw someone cleaning all the time. I’ve never seen that here, maybe it happens after closing. So while the locker rooms got new paint, what they really needed was mold removal and a cleaning. Equipment is slow to get fixed but worst of all is you can’t depend on things to work. The showers often don’t have hot water working so good luck getting a shower in before work or you can take a freezing one. The place needs less focus on the superfluous cosmetic more on the functional.

The AC needs to be turned on/fixed ASAP! Its been over 80 degrees and stuffy/humid in the gym all summer which is not up to standard:American College of Sports Medicine Recommendations:Appropriate temperature, humidity and air circulation levels should be maintained in the fitness floor area. The following levels are recommended: Temperature: 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit.OSHA recommendations:A workplace temperature control in the range of 68-76° F and humidity control in the range of 20%-60% as specified in OSHA Manual.

Pretty good. The group classes are a lot of fun. The trainers who run them are high energy and fun and many of them attend each others classes. There are plenty of machines and theres usually a lot of room to spare in the weight lifting area. The pool is nice and I often see lanes free. The hot tub is a pretty sweet bonus. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The parking lot is kind of small and it can get crowded in the evenings forcing people to park on the street. The music played in the workout area is typical pop music youd find on 107.9.

Equipment is updated fairly regularly, and while its rarely crowded its also rarely empty. While broken equipment typically takes a while to be repaired, there is always other equipment available.Classes are plentiful, varried, and wonderfully taught. Childcare staff are great.#gym #swim #pool #spa #sauna #cardio #weights

They have a great variety of machines and a really nice outdoor area with a pool! They are really motivating and have a great variety of different classes for any level of fitness. After going to the various gyms in Davis this one is by far my favorite. This gym has an amazing yoga class, a great jacuzzi and very helpful staff members.

Ive been going to DSF for about 2 years. In that time, Ive done the early morning (ie 6 am) boot camps and crossfit, several time slots and instructors for zumba, and pilates. Instructors are enthusiastic and fun, although in most cases there was no personalized greetings. I would like to see the instructors attend more to form (especially in boot camp) by walking around cueing participants, and a little less to demonstrating the moves. Instructors usually learn the names of regulars in the group fitness classes and I think they could help people out by pushing them or correcting form more often. Ive never used the pool but used the locker room every day when I came in early and showered for work. The locker room and showers have been clean with hair dryers and nice towels provided. I dont use the machines so I cant speak to them, but I do use free weights and most of the other goodies like kettle balls and barbells; pretty much every type of workout toy is available except maybe sandbags. The free weights are a little roughed up but it seems like there is always plenty of equipment for the number of people. It seems like they are always buying something new so the sense is that it is well-maintained. I think there has been a change in ownership in the last year or so, and I like it even better now.
