I was only 15 years old and they put me with a black belt to practice. During the session broke my arm into two …. I had gone to the hospital and did multiple surgery’s and had two metal plates put in to put my arm back together.Scarred for life but I guess that’s what I signed up for right? When my family asked to see the camera footage of what happened it was magically gone. Invest in some other hobbies not worth the trauma and pain

Regarding Alexandria Houssaiky’s negative review towards Mr. Ali , god is great because I am a witness of the conversation it happened between you too, I was there the whole time , he treated you very politely with all his respect. He did not say i can’t take your son or I can’t take your son because he’s ADD. you were standing there giving directions to where your son should sit and gave him your information and walked out . That’s not very nice of you to put a fake review of something he did not say or do.Mr. Ali is well known , respected in the community. His manner of teaching is so wonderful and refreshing!! He’s patient and supportive, but really knows how to motivate his students. He’s great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging through a variety of activities that improve his students. My kids love Mr Ali and I see that in other students as well. Master Ali has horrible communication skills and who discriminates against special needs. My son has ADD I took him in for a trial class, and he told me verbatim “ I don’t take kids like that”. I said can he try it out at least. He tried it and he said he did good but I can’t take him. He said I should of mentioned it on the phone because he doesn’t service that kind. Horrible personality.

From the timeI brought my son to the school and met master Ali, He has been a blessing to my son and his development. I appreciate the school and the mentoring very much. For as long as I can remember this school has had its arms open to any student willing to learn. With the credentials of the Master far exceeding many other trainers in the State and even the country I gave it a shot. I was greeted with open arms, and happy smiles, and a will to teach me and make me great. Working one on one in class this school taught me discipline, integrity, and how to have fun doing so. I started in 2010... the team, and classmates at the gym are so helpful, and amazingly generous. The master keeps on you all day every day in the gym and he wants us to be the very best we can be every single day.

First of all I would like to share two experiences with this establishment. for a few months I had been looking for a really good school to take my son to, I was looking for multiple attributes that the school had to have, as I my self had been a black belt of Shotokan karate. having a very good familiarity with the sport, I knew what I was looking for, technique, skill, respect, all of these attributes are extremely important especially when your coaching a young adult or kid to not only be able to defend them selfs but to respect there peers and elders. so after going through four or five different schools, and walking away disappointed, I finally found Koubeissi Tae Kwon DO, immediately Master Ali greeted me and welcomed me to the school, of course I was skeptical at first, as I had gone though the other school and disappointment became the expected. but right away just by watching warm ups I could tell that Master Ali had a way with kids, they respected him but not because they were fearing him, but by the genuine belief that Master Ali would make them a better competitor in Tae Kwon DO, this is an extremely important ability that a teacher must be able to have ESPECIALLY when your dealing with kids. he then began his performance exercises, which help his students get into physical fighting shape. after attending a few classes my self, I was convinced that Master Ali was the right teacher for my son. Im a very involved parent so I attend most of my sons classes, I noticed that Master Ali has a unique blend of strictness when needed but not so much that he doesnt bend when needed. he follows most classes with some positive feed back towards the kids in there every day lives as well, he constantly mentions getting good grades including bringing there report card before the next belt test, and respecting his fellow man... basically all I expected of a true master of the sport and more. my second experience is my self, I was so impressed with his Tae Kwon DO school that I decided to take the adult classes, purely to get back in shape and in a fun way, Master Ali has given me the tools that I needed to get back to my old fighting ways. over all hes absolutely fantastic, and led by a true MASTER of the sport, I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get not only them selfs into shape but there child as well. to add on, Master Ali is a true father figure to these kids, once the class is finished, Master Ali keeps an eye on the children until each parent picks them up and they are visually in the car with there parent, it is not out of the norm that you will see Master Ali aiding a kid with asthma an inhaler until he regains his breath, one of many things Mater Ali does for the kids.

The instructor Master Ali Koubeissi has lead multiple groups of students through Michigan State Championships and through National Championships. He teaches students discipline and respect. He helps students achieve goals in school and in Tae Kwon Do. I am proud to call myself a student of Master Ali’s. I am proud to call him my mentor. He is my role model and I consider him as my second father. I have known Master Ali Koubeissi longer than I have known some family members, but I consider him a part of my family now. I have been very pleased with our experience at KoKoubeissi Taekwondo. The instructor is excellent and very friendly with the kids. My 8 and 6 year old felt comfortable right away and the classes keep them engaged and excited and never miss a class! We love the days we are at Koubeissi Taekwondo!!

I called koubeissi taekwondo school to learn more about enrolling my kids. The owner answered the phone and was very informational. He invited me in for a trial session that would give my kids an idea of what to expect. I went in and was very pleased with that I saw. The owner was very welcoming and helped my kids individually. After this experience, I enrolled my kids and was definitely happy with the outcome!

Master Ali was the most cooperative, hardworking, and tenacious master I have trained with. Prior to attending his class, I trained at another place that was nothing like Koubeissi TKD. If anyone is planning on registering their child for TKD, Koubeissi is the way to go!

I have been a student under Master Ali for years and I have never seen a problem with how he treats his students. This review is long overdue. Since 2004, my 3 children have been learning from Master Koubeissi for more than 13 years and they love it. I am also a student since 2006. Where do I even begin? Koubeissi Taekwondo has had such a positive influence on my life. Not only is Master Koubeissi a great instructor, but the students are also extremely kind and hardworking while maintaining a healthy level of competition. Taekwondo with Master Koubeissi has truly taught me the values of self-discipline, self-control, courtesy, and perseverance. I would highly recommend Koubeissi’s Taekwondo because the environment is very nice and friendly which is great for kids and adults. The classes are always high energy with unbelievable workouts. Each day/week different areas of the body (legs, arms, abs, etc.) are focused on, different combinations and moves are used, sometimes they are punching bag focused classes or partner work, the diversity of exercise makes the experience engaging, exciting, and works your entire body. Everyone who attends the classes is positive, supportive, and friendly! It is truly incredible, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been sending my kids to koubessi taekwondo for years now and Im happy with all they have learned. They have developed great self defense skills along with discipline. First off, when calling this establishment the guy who answered (I am assuming the owner - soon you will find out he was the owner) had very bad customer service and was very dry. I told him I would like to register my kids he replied back with OK. I asked if there was a trial or if I could come and see how a class would be. He replied back with yes. I had to ask what time and when should I come in and was just not given enough information. I just thought maybe he is having a bad day and to give it a chance. So I went in one day. You go in from the back a very small area and on your right is the office. I go in and see the owner (I can tell he was the owner because his pictures and trophies were everywhere with his name on it). I told him I wanted to register my kids and I am here to check out the class and very dry he was like ok and please take off your shoes so again bad customer service did not feel welcomed no information was given. So how am I suppose to bring my kids here and have a great experience if I am not. Also how to expect them to have top of the line tae kwon do in that type of atmosphere? Anyway still giving this place a chance. I sit and wait for the class to start. The kids are coming in and waiting on the mat to start. Then I start noticing a lot of things. First, the owner for sure is answering the phones in the office and since the chairs are setup near the office you can hear everything (so expect your conversations with him on the phone to be heard by others). So on one call he answered you can hear very loud saying I dont need your money many times and was saying dont call here. He could have closed the door but didnt. Anyways I was still waiting for the class to start, then I noticed one kid he was very in your face and and a know it all I noticed that he had a black belt and seen him on a couple of pictures as well. The stuff that came out of him mouth were disgusting he was talking bad about other cultures and making slick remarks and being very stereotypical of people of Yemen culture. He told the kid who was of the Yemen culture Do you have a Phone the kid responded back with yes the boy with the black belt said Wow, Yemeni people can afford phones! I was applaud. I am pretty sure he is the owner son, if not somehow related. Obviously this is what this kid is picking up at home from his family. Hate and Discrimination is taught not something or someone is born with. The Class was ok, they were younger students and were just basically doing warm ups and some kicks before you know it the hour of the class is up and finished. There were two instructors with one as the leader and the other was there to assist. Never once did the owner who is a Tae Kwon Do master walked into the class introduce himself or give any advice or tips. Overall bad customer service, culture slurs and not a good atmosphere. I will be scouting other schools. FYI I called the Jiu-Jitsu school down the block and was blow away just by the costumer service over the phone he gave me the schedule dates and times and told me to come in to check it out, I cant wait.
