I started bringing my 2 yr old daughter Ellie here just a little over 3 months ago and I already love this place! I am impressed with the cleanliness of this facility, they go above and beyond especially right now. The staff is caring and pleasant! My daughter has no problem running right in there to go back to her class and wash her hands. I am also a first time Mommy so you could imagine I would be a little nervous but Miss Cindy made me feel so comfortable my first tour and it was a done deal from there! Thank you so much Kid City of Deltona you are all amazing!!

I brought my son here after touring the daycare. I had told them that I was really looking for an educational experience for him and they emphasized their daily schedule, curriculum, circle time, e.t.c. My son fell in love with their sand room play area so we gave it a try.Let me say that all of the staff were very kind, courteous, and appeared to really care about the kids. I dropped in unannounced at different times and never found the place unclean or have any concerns that my son might not be treated well. That said, I didnt get what I was told.1. I was told they only had part time available. Later on, I overheard them calling other families inviting other children to start at the center. If you have time for 2 part time kids, you should have time for 1 full time kid, but they make more money per hour off the part time kids, so I felt this was very under handed.2. They prided themselves on low class ratios. When my son started, he was in a group of 7 with 1 teacher; however, every time I came to the school, his class was lumped together with 2 other classes and 2 teachers would be cleaning or setting up meals or nap mats or whatever and 1 teacher would have all 21+ kids on their own.3. The curriculum never happened. Yes, they did a thing they called circle time, but if youre familiar with what that looks like in schools, this was not that. Really it was 1 teacher trying to wrangle 21 students into sitting on a rug while she read 1 - 2 books and the other two teachers set up breakfast. My son actually likes listening to books, but he could never hear over the many children making noises or not following directions and the teacher was constantly being interrupted. In the end, having sat in on this process several times myself, even I had trouble following along with any book she read... there was no benefit here. The rest of the day was broken up between meal times, play time, and nap. My son went to the program from 8a - 3p (slightly longer than a normal school day) and never once brought any work home. I never saw him do any activity, and the one time a teacher tried to tell me he made something, he quickly told me the teacher made it.4. They didnt stick to their own schedule. When my son started, he already did not nap anymore. I told them this and they told me that it was just 30 - 45 minutes of quiet time and he could just relax with a book, but theyd put him down last and up first so it wasnt too long. Immediately after starting, my son started having issues sleeping at night, so I started checking in. He would be laid down as early as 12p daily and kept down as late as 3p at times. On average Id say it was 1230 - 230. Furthermore, they did not allow him to sit with a book or a small toy or anything on his nap mat and instead I would find him counting ceiling tiles to pass time. Even after I spoke with the owner about this, it never improved.5. They were barely feeding the kids. Soon after starting, my son began begging for snacks before he went, and he always was starving at pick up. So I observed meal times... portion sizes were tiny, like 1 silver dollar sized pancake. All the children were hungry and would beg for more at every meal and snack. Even when the food wasnt appetizing, they would eat everything because they were constantly hungry!6. Just too many kids in a group. Because they were putting 3 groups together, every activity was shared across more than 20 kids at a time. It was impossible for teachers to really monitor kids grabbing/ stealing/ pushing, e.t.c. When the beloved sand room was made available (maybe 1 or 2 times per week), kids had to take turns, and many times it would never be my sons turn before play time was up. This was the only thing he liked about the school and he had to watch other kids get to play in it while he was told no.Im out of space, so Ill end with - if you need a cheap place to keep your kids alive, this is great. If you want your child to be educated and learn social skills, it wont happen here!
