This is an amazing place not only to learn, but to rent as well! I got checked out to fly with my family, and the CFIs were amazing as well as Sherman, the owner!

In the Pattern is a great place, Sherman is awesome, and my instructor Emily is just terrific we had so much fun. I definitely picked the right place to train and imagine we will have a relationship that continues after I receive my license!

I was searching for a flight school in the DFW area with good airplanes and talented flight instructors. I found both at ITP, but that’s not all. What I found was a community. A community that welcomed a complete stranger from the first day I set foot in the hangar. I thought to myself, ‘What is this place and why is everyone so stinkin’ nice!?’ The owner, Sherman Gardner, called me after my first lesson just to make sure everything went ok and ask for feedback. WHAT!? Amazing! That’s putting your customers first.After a couple weeks of training at ITP I realized I found something else: FAMILY. Everyone from the students, mechanics, and instructors are top shelf. I see them at fly-ins and air shows and it’s like finding a $50 bill in your pocket!I feel right at home when I walk in to the ITP space. There is truly something special going on over there. Don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself.

One of the best, and most fun places to learn to fly. The entire ITP crew treats you as a friend and family. All the aircraft are well taken care of and great to fly.I did my instrument training and never once felt like I had an instructor bumming flight hours off me. Each lesson was filled with instruction from beginning to end. I felt very prepared when it came time for my check ride.

ITP is a fantastic place to rent from. Sherman (owner + instructor) is professional and always accessible. The sign up and checkout process was straightforward and easy, as is the scheduling system. I have no trouble scheduling a quick weekend flight when I want to go have fun and brush up on some landings. The planes and the hangar are always clean and inviting. There’s even a little patio that faces the runways where you can sit and watch planes take off and land. I love this place!

Great place to recieve flight instruction from or to rent from. Great selection of aircraft and very friendly/welcoming environment. Ive gotten the majority of my ratings through them and have never felt unprepared or rushed to take a check ride. ITP is very helpful with working around your schedule and your needs.

In The Pattern is great. The instructors are outstanding. They are thorough in their teaching and don’t try to get you to spend more money than is needed. They will go at the pace you want to. If your schedule only allows you to fly once a week they will get you in and work their butt off for you to make sure you get the best training for whichever license or rating you are going for. They are great to rent from and get instruction from ITP is the greatest flight training you will get.

I can’t say enough about how AMAZING In the Pattern is as a flight school! I have been a private pilot for 12 years and this is the BEST flight school experience that I have had! From Sherman, Ryan, Amanda, Cody, Cy and the rest of the team, I felt like I was part of a family. They helped me finish up my Instrument Rating that had been on hold due to COVID and being assigned by the military out of the country. Awesome place to train and rent airplanes. If you want to be treated as an individual rather than a number then come here. The owner Sherman genuinely cares about his customers and their needs. You can schedule yourself for a flight whenever they’re open for business Mon-Sat and a plane and instructor are available. There is a great team of instructors here and all display the highest level of commitment in helping you reach your goals. A good variety in their fleet too with several Cessnas, a Piper Comanche for complex/high performance needs, and a Piper Aztec for multi-engine training. Highly recommend! - Andrew S

In The Pattern is a great place if youre looking at getting introduced to flying with a discovery flight all the way up to earning your Certified Flight Instructor Certificate and anything in between. Their building houses a decent size hangar and clean office space for ground work and flight planning. They have a fleet of seven precisely maintained aircraft. I utilized Baby & Blue Belle for relatively cheap time building and evening strolls, Bo Peep & Princess Lima for instrument currency, and Brie to zoom literally halfway across the country. Every member of the team is a genuinely eager person, there to help you in whatever way they can. Very fair and well ran business. Call or stop by; Im glad I did!

Ive been flying general aviation for 20 plus years and have rented from numerous flight schools and FBOs across the country...hands down, In the Pattern represents the best Ive seen! Professional CFIs, clean facilities, easy billing, and, (most importantly to me), a great mix of aircraft that are super well-maintained. I highly recommend them!

I did a lot of research when choosing a flight school that would not only meet my needs but meet my schedule as well. ITP has been absolutely amazing along my aviation journey (PPL and Instrument) and I couldn’t imagine anything more I’d need in my flight training. Having instructors that truly care about fulfilling your needs and doing it in a fiscally responsible way, is a win, win! Although ITP is not the cheapest school in DFW Metroplex, the services, quality of aircraft and the “family feel” makes choosing In the Pattern for your flight training and aircraft rental a very easy one.

In The Pattern is such a unique company, they provide you with all the ins and outs youd need but what sets them apart is the fact that its not just a business relationship but youre treated like family. Sherman (the owner) loves what he does and you can tell by the excitement he has with his customers. What a great little school! Truly unique and hard to find a place like this in DFW. Sherman helped me find a plane when I was in a pinch. It was clear from our interaction and his interactions with others that he really cares about this place and the people who walk through the doors. I even left my medical in the plane and Sherman mailed it to me!The facility is stunning and the planes are in great shape. I cant recommend this school enough, I will be a lifelong ITP renter!

Awesome place! The Gardners will take care of you and treat you like family! Planes are in amazing condition and fly beautifully--I feel absolutely safe in their planes. I used both C172s for my CFI-A and CFI-I without one hiccup. The hanger is located abeam the thousand footers and its a great place to just hang out and watch the student traffic practice their landings. Ive been checked out at several rental places, once I found In The Pattern I rent exclusively from them.

In the pattern has great planes and good prices, but what really sets it apart from other businesses is the way they treat their renters. Instead of feeling like a customer it feels as though you are a part of a big family.

In The Pattern is awesome, period. I always tell people that it’s hard to describe, because any attempt to put it in words will not truly do it justice. The Gardners are truly passionate about aviation, and have fostered a culture of community, where everyone feels like friends and family. You always feel welcome, and it’s very common to find fellow pilots just hanging out and enjoying the camaraderie before/after flights. ITP makes renting an airplane an experience; so much more than just a transaction.As for my aircraft of choice, the Jabiru J230, it is so much fun to fly. It’s hard to contain my enthusiasm for the airplane, because it really exceeds your expectations. If you think LSAs are just for Sport pilots, you’re missing out!

For too long, Denton Enterprise Airport did not have a good place to rent airplanes from.
