Went to this dojo for 9 years and loved everyday of it. The owners and other students are great people. If you ever wanted to learn karate, this is the place to be.

Five years ago I had my 10-yr-old try Four different Dojos, each with unique and endearing qualities. I then created a matrix of those qualities and scored each dojo in those areas. Needless to say, Im sure you may agree that this was an important life change that would echo throughout his life and long after I am gone. Colorado Budokan ranked first in overall including patience and respect for the instructors and for the students, tradition, the Dojo and its owners, the Tsutsui family, took my son under their wing and still support anything pure that comes his way. Their technical prowess is second to none and has made them the international competitors they are. I am a proud parent having blessed my sons life with skills I would have wanted as well. Colorado Budokan helped make that happen and continues to help keep it alive.

This is a great place for children to be introduced to karate. My 4 year old daughter was excited to try martial arts and the Senseis/Instructors here are great for that. Both are patient but consistent. Its a good balance of fun and discipline.

I have been training with the Tsutsuis for 3 years now. I researched and visited several schools before choosing to study at Colorado Budokan. I have been very happy with that decision. The teachers at Colorado Budokan provide the highest quality instruction in both traditional and sport karate. I would recommend the Tsutsuis and Colorado Budokan to anyone who wants to study Karate, at any age or health level. Thank You.

I checked out many martial arts studios around the neighborhood and many of the classes for my 4 year old were taught by assistants or teenagers, not by the head instructor... Colorado Budokan was the only school where the head instructor taught to the little ones. Sense Tsutsui is the REAL DEAL and I couldnt be happier with our decision.

My son has been attending karate classes at Colorado Budokan for 1 year. He has learnt confidence and discipline. He truly enjoys going to class every week and has been working very hard to earn his belts. Sensei is wonderful with his students; you can truly tell he cares about their learning.

Traditional martial arts is hard to find these days. With decades of experience teaching, Sensei Tsutsui and his staff know the difference between real karate and ... something else. Children, teens and adults all benefit from this family run dojo. Truly the best in Denver.

This is an excellent school for training traditional Shotokan Karate. I have been training with Sensei Tsutsuis family for two decades and enjoy the experience it has had in my life. With the training you get out of training what you put in. It isnt a McDojo or a place where you spend hours beating on newer students. It is a place to learn traditional karate.I have watched the instructors here train; casual families, young children who are unfocused, or elite athletes who go to, and win, national competitions. Everyone who wants to learn, is trained with the same focus and concern that helps individuals get to a greater potential.Personally the training has helped me calm and focus my mind to help mitigate some of my outward Aspbergers symptoms via challenging me to interact with others while learning to better understand and control my body. There are a lot of things that could have done this but the patience and understanding combined with good discipline has helped me navigate life a little better.

My son began classes at the age of 5 and has been attending for almost 3 years. The results have been outstanding. The physical conditioning, coordination, confidence, and personal values he has attained have been really impressive. He has become active in the local tournament circuit and recently won a gold medal in the 2013 Junior International Cup in Las Vegas.Sensei Gary Tsutsui does an amazing job with the youngest of the students and the rest of the instructors are exemplary as well. The Tsutsui family that owns and operates this school are truly dedicated individuals.
