I advise not working with John Casablancas Modeling. Their contract only allows you the ability to back out after only three days of signing it. They set you up with your first class after three days of signing. You end up paying a lot of money even if you change your mind. The classes are with a million other people and it is not real preparation for this industry. Be very careful with this.

When I was 14, I was very shy but my #1 goal was always to be a model. My mom decided to finally let me submit to Agencies in the Colorado area. We met with 4 other companies before we decided to accept John Casablancas offer. I will never forget the day that Mark said he believed in me and my career. Everyone needs to understand the company is a school and an agency. Just like almost careers there is learning to do before one becomes a professional. I took 6 months of clases and loved every second of it. During the classes I grew my knowledge and self confidence. Fast forward 6 years I am still involved with the company and am very grateful for their staff. I have moved to New York in 2018 and am able to make a full career out of modeling for my self. I understand not everyone has the same success that I have worked for, but I do know every student betters them self in one way or another from their training program.

1 star . That is how bad I was swindled. They are a lucrative business that is more concerned about money than their clients success. Initially, we bought the package with unlimited photoshoots and had to wait almost a year after joining to finally get a photoshoot. Then finally, I had a photoshoot in January but when I received the CD, it was blank and had nothing on it. For 6 months I called around and no one helped me nor would anyone return my calls. We had paid A LOT for the photoshoot and yet no one could answer my questions of where my photos were. I am extremely disappointed as this was supposed to be my introduction to this industry and instead I got a company that was very disorganized and could not stick to anything they had initially told us. It was a huge let down for someone who was so excited about this opportunity. DO NOT go with agency! Find another one!

So, they lied to me and stole my money for pre-paid-untaken classes.Zero stars and time for looking into legal options to despute the charges. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Amazing place. My children haven’t began yet and I’m already loving the place and the people. All these negative reviews must be of people who either did not get accepted and/or have had bad communication. Orrrr did not read their contract !!!I am having issues with my bank, and Mark has been amazing through it all. This company has rules that every worker need to abide by its not that they are trying to be mean. Mark is doing anything to help me get my babies started. I came here not prepared or aware of the total, and my total is for 2 kids😬 $$$So if I can’t get them in I’ll be super sad but I’d still like to thank them for explaining everything to me. And for seeing the best in my children (I am a proud mommy)I do recommend this place 100% don’t let the negative comments ruin it for you. Everyone was so nice and encouraging. I made it through the audition and was requested to come back and meet with the Director. I believe I have made one of the best choices in my life. This opportunity will take me down many roads in my future. The school has been fantastic and I just keep learning everyday. The instructors are amazing. ITS A SCAM!!. Long story short i told MARK or whatever the guy who tells you about signing a contract with him is called. I decided not to go through with it after i knew it was a scam , they wanted us to make a decision on the spot that same day. They expect us to know right away if we want to pay the full amount or do it in payments. They give you no time to go home and think about it a little more after you just found out how everything runs 15-20 min ago , and that’s what they want , they don’t want you to overthink it and say no. When i said no he ripped up the paper in-front of us and told us to have a nice day. That is very unprofessional and that’s not how to handle a situation like that .

100% Complete scam!!! They are ONLY a school. I fell for it and wasted a lot of money believing what they told me. They play on your hopes and dreams and give you nothing in return. Please don’t make the same mistake. They are great at telling you what you want to hear. I lost well over $1000 and they never did anything to help book me any jobs or casting opportunities. In the beginning they split you up into three groups, each group is taken to a private area and told that out of the three groups, the group that you’re in is the only group that is getting signed and given a modeling contract. Then they ask you to please keep it to yourself and not say anything to anybody else from the other groups as you believe because it would hurt their feelings to know that they didn’t make it in and you did. When in actuality each group is told the exact same thing (at this time they are running your credit to see if you can afford to pay them tuition for the school. If they see they can’t finance you then you are not worth their time and you get “cut”. On the flip side if they don’t con enough people into enrolling in their school they will try calling the “cut” people to see if they can get any money from you) they sign as many people as they can on the spot and then invite you back multiple times wasting a lot of your time trying to sell you a modeling contract that is not actually a modeling contract it’s just enrollment into a school that has absolutely no accreditation whatsoever. It’s a high-pressure sale ( I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys worked as car sales men before this scam) PLEASE DO NOT fall for this SCAM!!!!! If a real authentic modeling agency wanted to sign you it would cost you nothing**** it’s too bad they don’t give you an opportunity to respond to “the owners” response to your honest feed back. Please take the time to read how unprofessional the responses are. ****

My first impression of this place was outstanding and I loved the vibe and staff there. After some time, I did come to feel that there were some significant communication issues between the director and I. I posted an honest review including my thoughts and frustration. After submitting the review, he reached out to me and we later spoke in person. After a good discussion with Mark, I felt much relief and understanding (me of him and him of I). I still feel that his tone of voice CAN be intimidating, but he reassured me that he means no negative mark or offense, whatsoever. I truly appreciate that Mark and I were able to clear the confusion and tension through open and honest communication. Communication and respect is huge to me and I am grateful that Mark and I worked through this professionally. All in all - YES, I would recommend this training center.

You get to work with an amazing photographer and get comp cards and a cd with your photos with a way better price then you would anywhere else. And the photos are great as well. My granddaughter and I had a well learned lesson on the first audition for the school.!! They got her hopes up by saying that they pay all expenses. They even said Scouts are at the audition and we really saw none. She walked the runway, got her digital pictures taken. Fun stuff. This is however a school for learning about ones limits and ones self awareness. She did get a call back but after reading So Many reviews we have decided to enroll in a School of Performing Arts. This will give her a Brodder spectrum of all things entertainment. My granddaughter writes lyrics, has a need to learn piano and fine tune her singing. I will spend a little more money as I am understanding by reviews they ask for $2000.00 . It is a private school!!. Nothing is for free.!You choose. Thanks for the memories.

Received a phone call from John Casablancas a week ago today, asking me to come in for an audition at their Acting/Modeling center. I went. Little did I know Director Mark E. was going to single me out in the audition about how my pants were not worn properly. I was later “Cut” that night. Pretty sure I am the ONLY one that got cut. But I somehow recieved a phone call the day after the audition, Mark asked me to come in and further my Acting/Modeling Career. So I went, like any 20 year old would do. Too bad I didn’t realize it was pure manipulation. I did not have the right amount of money to pay for the “package deal”, Mark said I could split the payment in half and bring the rest of the money on my first day of class and if I didn’t like the class that I could terminate payments and walk away the first day I start which was suppose to be 5/02/2018. Then continue to make weekly payments after that. I took a few days after I signed and thought about it. I didn’t feel right about the situation so I gave Mark a call too bad the contract I signed has a 3 year release date and I have to pay. It’s sad because he clearly took advantage of me. I’m a 20 year old that is trying to go somewhere in the industry, and John Casablancas has obviously been doing this “Scam” thing for years. If they have been around for 41 years of course they found out a somewhat professional way to do it. So sad. Not to mention Director Mark said he voice recorded every session with his clients... So I would LOVE to hear that recording :). If you wanna give this place your time and money suit ya self.. I just feel bad for all the young families that were in there that probably ended up paying and have no idea.

They help you with spots but it’s all in your attitude and the way you want to learn from it. For my experience it has been going great I am in session 10 and going up, my classes are great the teachers here are incredible they teach me something new and help to improve my movements, ramp skills, poses in pictures. I was told “we don’t work with people like you.” Then hung up on me. From all the reviews there has been many complaints about Mark. I think you guys should talk to mark and try to work this out with him. I would like if you guys did not reply to this. Also the reason people are going under fake names and writing reviews is not because they are fake. Sometimes they are scared to be humiliated, and made out to be a horrible liar. I went under a fake name for the exact same reason. I’m sorry to say but I was treated rudely and I do not let that slide by. I was patient and was nice, but in return I was treated very rudely. The tone of voice I was talked to in was not acceptable. And if Mark is reading this. I’d like to say, there are many complaints about you, maybe something needs to happen.

If youre looking to become a model this is not the place, Ive done tons and tons of research on modeling and they contacted me for an audition I had done my research on this place and I did end up going because I was hoping for a practice audition so I went into it 100% knowing I would not be signing with them I also knew this was a school and not an agency, they are probably a good acting school but if you are only interested in modeling I would suggest anywhere else, modeling school is a waste of time according to many many agencies because your agency manager will actually teach you and help you with everything you would learn at a school, a lot of the things they said were very false in sense of no one will take you unless you go to a modeling school that is not true one but, they also said photoshoots were $6,00-7,000 when 20 minutes earlier they said they are about $500, this school is only interested in those who wish to be actors, all the girls who were only interested in modeling were turned away and the only way they would sign anyone was if they had a SAG card which is for actors (not sure why a model needs one of those???) This is also very overpriced for something you dont need and yes you will make money while in this school but John Casablancas will take 80% of the pay (not sure why they made that sound so awesome for the audience) bottom line do as much research as you can, not just on this school but the career you are interested in as well, I am with an agency that fully agrees that this school is not worth the time so please keep in mind if modeling is your goal this is not a recommended place to achieve that.

The instructors at Denver JC location have been great, a lot of fun, super helpful/responsive and genuinely interested in helping me develop my abilities and find acting opportunities...and why wouldnt they? They get paid more money when we find work for me, so theyre naturally inclined to do so/thats how it works. There is simply no way I could have shown up to an audition without any prior knowledge of how they work and expect to ever be successful. When I signed on to MTM training in the spring of 16, little did I know the extent of the life changing experience I was about to discover. This is truly the greatest thing Ive ever done for myself! I found things buried inside of me I never knew existed. Ive always had a positive and out going personality but little did I know that my persona existed just at the surface level. The training, but mostly the instructors, through patience and tough training skills, allowed me to plumb the depths of my personality, talents and confidence I never knew existed. This has resulted in more joy and satisfaction in the interactions with others and a brighter outlook in all of the events and activities around me. What I find amazing is how people around me, even in casual contact, can see something in me that no one has ever seen before. I know this because I can see how people respond to me. Its a wonderful feeling feeling the change that has been evolving in me for the past two years. And I credit the MTM experience for all of this plus I give thanks to the Lord for placing me in just the right place and moment to find the opportunity of self discovery and finding talents here-to-fore unknown to me. A profoundly life changing time has been afforded me by a wonderfully transforming experience. Thanks to you all at the MTM Denver staff - and students alike - something I will carry with me, happily, for the rest of my life.Once again, this journey of self discovery has been one the greatest things Ive ever done for myself.

When I figured its a scam because of what I already heard but I just wasnt sure but then I decided to quit but it was late so it didnt really help after spending almost $2000 and after few days Mark called me to see whats going on, he asked to delete my one star review and to come back to make the rest of the payments. when I told him that I quit because you said that Im gonna get a job by session 8 but I didnt get anything. He literally said well the job wont come to you and you have to apply for it and he was like you have to ask and bla bla bla and I said what? So dont you know why was I going to this school for? When we already talked about that and everything at the first day that I registered and he made everything clear to me that Ill be getting it by session 8 and he never mentioned anything about that I have to apply he just said that I will get a job by session 8. And after trying with me to come back I was disappointed so I said no Im not I quit he got mad and hung up on me he was very rude. THEY JUST WANT MONEY! ! ! DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY!!!!

I go here for modeling and I am just about to Graduate! People who say its a scam because they are a school are wrong, they tell you during your audition that it is not an agency. But after you graduate you have another audition for MTM. The people here are so nice and the agent here is awesome and hilarious. So people dissing this place because they had one bad experience need to be quite.Edit: if I could give it zero stars I would. The only audition offer you get after you join MTM is for Expo and that costs 4,000 dollars no joke. MTM is a complete scam that took all of our money. Technically Im still apart of it but my agent hasnt contacted me in years after I tried reaching out to him. John Casablancas tho is great it really helped boost my confidence.

Started out as a great agency. But went down hill immediately after signing.Only real gigs they have offered to those who sign a contract is for the expo (which costs alot, not including boarding, food, or flights).an is literally the only time they seem to contact you. A year after being signed i would call an try to come in to keep up to date with them but they eventually stopped returning calls an changed their contact information. They have even lost my contract an the head shoots i paid a pretty peny for that they required. Directors kept getting changed or fired, so it was hard to even contact anyone! When i finally gave up trying to call anyone i went to the head quartiers am they magically changed buildings.. go figure.Even thought they lost my contract an it ended awhile ago because i signed back in 2012, they are STILL only contacting me for these over priced expos. Youd honestly be better off somewhere else or on your own, which isnt always smart if you dont have any knowledge about the industry an how it works.

At the end of the day they lie saying their an agency but their a school!!! If you come walking into a real agency with a certificate saying you can model they will just laugh at you! I know this because Ive been modeling now for a few agencies that I did not have to pay for it because people that truly want to work with you PAY YOU! Not the other way around!!! And I did pay what was owed and have letters proving it but later I started getting letters saying I owed more money! I have proof their a scam agency I mean school PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!

They are fake and just want to take your money. They say if you get rated a A form them they will pay for every thing. But they didnt do that for me. They want to charge you about $3,750 for just 2 to 3 years of classes. They are a scam and they are a school not a agency. So dont go to them if you want to get into modeling

Scam #1)I contacted John Casablancas since I have modeling experience from my time in Georgia and wanted to have some work here. They said I should come in for an audition and I asked if I could bring my daughter, as well. They said they love to audition all children, as well. My daughter and I auditioned and we were chosen among a few others. I was to sign on with MTM and she was to attend their school. I have owned a small boutique talent agency in Georgia, so I do have experience with the industry. I explained that I am in a divorce and until it is final, I needed to wait to enroll her. I was told that her look might not be in demand in six months. I knew this wasnt true since six months would make no difference at-all, but since my daughter was so excited and I knew she would enjoy the class, I said that if they could work it out for her to start in the Fall, Id do it. I was told by Director Mark Ewing that if I would pay a down payment (based off one of their financing plans), he would ask her attend one class and pay for that one class, and then she could go on vacation until September in order to accommodate our needs . This was HIS and JCs solution, not my offer!I signed her on and after she attended the first class, according to our agreement, I had not planned to bring her back NOR MAKE PAYMENTS until September as proposed by Mark Ewing.I called the first Saturday my daughter was not to return to remind the front desk that she would not be attending again until September. Mark Ewing knows this. I also talked to him and said that I wanted her to get in on the first class in September, as well so she could meet all the other models since this is all about making friends. He said hed work that out, too. The first Sat. she didnt return, AFTER I called that VERY SAME MORNING to remind them she wouldnt be there, they called me again in the afternoon to say that she missed her class as if they had never heard from me. I again, reminded them of the agreement with Mark Ewing. The next week, the same thing happened. The school called to say she missed her class, again. I asked for Mark to call me back and he did not. I also asked in that call about when I was supposed to meet with Merle to sign on with MTM. I called again and finally left a voice mail letting them know if we couldnt get this straight, Id call corporate so they could help them get it straight. Then, Mark did finally call me. He said he had not heard any messages from me. I had left him at least one on his voice mail and the others were with his staff. On the telephone, he asked me to refresh his memory, as if he had no recollection of our arrangement. I recapped our deal, and then he said, BUT you still have to pay every week whether she comes to class or not.The arrangment/agreement was JCs offer to ME. I was more than happy to pay the down payment and have her attend the ONE class as he said and then wait until September.Guess what? When I told him that was BS, within thirty minutes I received an email inviting me to come and talk about my signing on with MTM.Scam #2)My attorney addressed this issue for me and Casablancas acknowledged all that I claimed and then sent me a bill for approximately $7 which had a signature line. The statement had language which would have committed me to further billing. I chose to ignore the statement as I believed it was a contract. Its a good thing I did. I used the first letter from Casablancas acknowledging wrong-doing and had my attorney send one more letter and thank goodness, I did receive a final letter from Casablancas stating all fees had been waived and I did not owe a balance. If you receive a statement with a signature line, read the fine print.
