Amazing school and community!! Our children started at St. Johns Early Learning Center. When it was time to decide on kindergarten, we knew we had discovered a special place and had to stay. The school and church community are extremely caring and genuine. The school curriculum is rigorous and provides students with comprehensive learning. We have now been at St. Johns for almost 14 years and feel incredibly blessed.

We are so incredibly happy we found St. Johns the second semester of our daughters first grade year. She was miserable in a near by highly acclaimed public school. Now are kids are 6th and 4th grade. St. Johns teachers and staff are caring and compassionate, taking a sincere interest in every individual. Its remarkably inexpensive as far as private school goes. Were thrilled with the Christian education they are receiving. AND we find when talking to friends at public schools our kids education level is it least a full year ahead in curriculum while our kids comfortably learn with the greater academic rigor. Its such a blessing to be part of the St. Johns family.

St. John’s is the best!! Our family became part of the community when my daughter started attending the ELC as a toddler. Now, my daughter is in first grade in the K-8 school and my son attends the ELC! The teachers and staff at St. John’s are attentive, kind, and truly care about the wellbeing of the kiddos. They cultivate a culture of kindness and faith while nurturing growth in academics from the start. As an added bonus, we’ve met so many awesome families through the school and church! We are so grateful to have discovered St. John’s!

We have 2 children in the ELC, and sincerely could not be any happier nor could they! They love their school! The teachers and support staff are loving and kind and are doing a great job of preparing them for kindergarten and beyond. I love that the school is just across the street from Wash Park, and the kids get to play, explore and picnic there periodically. Class sizes and ratios seem very appropriate. I feel truly blessed that St Johns is where our kids landed ☺️

I personally attend the church and my children attend the school. You can go to one or both. The church is very loving, Jesus focused, and values serving the city. The church building provides hospitality for a number of non-profit organizations throughout the region. The school will push your child academically and provides a relational and safe environment with great security. Overall, I cant say enough positive things about my experience at St. Johns!

I recently graduated from St. Johns. I had a amazing time in elementary school, and I thought the middle school would be just as good. I was so so wrong. The middle school staff is too over bearing, mean, cruel, controlling, and judgmental. The thing that made it an unbearable experience is the absolute lack of respect toward kids. They treated us like impudent toddlers instead of young adults. The expect us to respect them but cannot reciprocate. All they care about it is their perfect students. Boys are treated worse than girls. DONT SEND YOUR KID HERE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Its kind of sad that middle school children can get on here and ruin a great schools reputation. Elementary and the ELC at St. Johns has been great for us and our kids learning has been amazing. All the teachers have been great and would highly recommend it.

We have witnessed our child grow and flourish at SJELC. As new parents, we were uncertain what to expect, but their caring, dedicated, knowledgeable staff has assisted every step of the way. We couldnt be more pleased with our daughters education and growth. St. Johns is an exceptional resource for the community.

I am a St.Johns parent, and also a former St. Johns student. All six of my siblings also went through the Lutheran school system - in various cities and states - through elementary and high school. My sons had a great start to their education at Bethlehem Lutheran in Lakewood, and due to life circumstances entered the Jefferson County School District in 2nd & 5th grade, where I watched them flounder and fail to thrive from there on through high school. I knew I needed to do something different for my daughter, and thought back on my childhood to try to understand what had enabled all of us to be so academically successful. The common thread was our Christ centered education in the Lutheran schools. I transferred my daughter to St. Johns mid-year of 4th grade, and it is one of the best parenting decisions I have made. She is thriving academically and personally. Are the academic expectations high? - yes. Are the student held to a higher level of accountability? - yes. Are they also provided a second-to-none education in a loving and caring environment? - yes. Thanks and blessings to all of the past and present teachers and administrators in the Lutheran school systems.

They treated us middle schoolers like mentally challenged infants at points, and like bunch of geniuses in others then expected us to keep up with it.
