This is a fantastic school! I am a dance major and my experience has been absolutely amazing, Ive grown so much as a dancer and as a person too. The academics are also great! Although the school is weird, I love weird and it makes everyone a better person.

My son Charles is having a HELL of a time here. He is enjoying all of the teachers and is learning a great amount. He loves this school and his art. The PTA is also great. And my taxes are made easier by volunteering.

I tried for vocal and I didnt get in because I messed up on one little note... But I did enjoy myself and I might try again now that I have more confidence in myself 😁

This school is the best-kept secret in the Denver Public School system. You have to get in, but once you are in, it is more of a collection of excellent private teachers than a high school. Class sizes are small to very small and the faculty truly cares about their students. My kid enjoys near one-on-one time with every one of her teachers and it shows in her grades. Further, because of this focus, DSA continues to break out academically, sending students to National-level events for History Day, Debate, and other competitions. The class content is excellent-many kids get 5s and 4s on their AP exams (mine got two 5s and a 4 before she was 15) and is indicative of the college-prep focus the school delivers. Because everyone that is there wants to be there, the student experience is unlike any other. There is no hazing or disruptive classroom behavior that distracts from learning and the environment is insulating and nurturing. My daughter is a Creative Writing major, and as such, has written every form of genre ranging from critical essays to a novel. She is more well-spoken than I am (maybe she should have written this review LOL) and is more prepared for college than I ever was. We all want better for our kids...if your child has an interest in the arts, or an interest in writing like my daughter does, or an interest in doing well in school, you absolutely MUST check out Denver School of the Arts. I love it and so will you...

If you want to get really depressed and have a mental breakdown everyday go to this school. Academics are pretty much just Google it. Being in the vocal department, it was living hell. The school doesnt care how good their teachers are, but how long theyve been in the program. I never had any mental heath issues until I came to DSA, and my life absolutely fell apart. I am so glad to be switching schools. Dont believe all the wonderful things they tell you about this school

I am a 7th grade creative writer and it is so amazing. The academics are great and their is hardly any bullying. I have learned so much from the Creative Writing program, and not only about being a writer, but being a good person in the modern day world. I will never be able to repay my teachers for what I have learned in just two years.

I am a dance major here, and I have to say our program is amazing! Seriously you should come see one of our shows, the tickets are in expensive and it looks professional. What is especially exiting is a group of 10-12th graders will be performing,Cascades, a piece by Kim Robards, which was performed once at the Olympic games. I love this school so much.l

I am a music professor for a university in the Denver Metro area, and I simply will no longer support or endorse Denver School of the Arts. They have a long history of hiring temporary instructors to run sectionals that wind up poaching other teachers private students. These so called, professionals, are anything but as they deceive these kids by convincing them to leave their current private instructors for their services. They tell these kids that they havent heard of their instructor and/or convincing them that their current instructor does not have the best credentials. It is appalling, it is completely unprofessional, and it is going to quickly diminish DSAs reputation in the professional music community if they dont put a stop to this. I will do my best to send all of my private students to a better music school. And since I also have a lot of pull at my university, I will be informing everyone of these practices. Take note, DSA.

A great place to learn the art of acting...LIKE SOMEONE WITH A PERSONALITY DISORDER. Weak academics (like Go Google It Math), favoritism based on body-image and who is most likely to kill themselves if they dont get the part, and work, work, work, work work.Great for developing Orwellian social skills. Find out if you have any friends when youre all auditioning for the same part.Advice: Unless your dad is a type A++ personality and your mom is a pirhana, go to REAL school. Take part in school plays, and audition in the real world rather than claw your way to the top of the fishbowl castle.

I am currently a 11th grade student attending DSA in the Stagecraft and Design department in my third year. Let me first just say, this school is amazing! I remember when I had my audition for the 2011- 2012 school and I just prayed every night to go here instead of George or East. The atmosphere is amazing, you just walk down the hall and you will see vocal majors singing, dancers practicing, and you will always hear gorgeous music coming from talented students. Also, the Tech department is incredible! Love everyone there and for the first time in my entire life, I feel like I belong here. The only thing you should know about is the academics, I didnt prepare like I should have and my grades did suffer a little from my ignorance. But overall, the best school in the World!

Performances like no other! If your child (grades 6-12) is talented in the arts (music, vocal, theater, visual arts, dance, etc) then you MUST have them apply @DSA. This school provides an experience like no other! Not only are their Art majors challenging but so are their academics. And regardless of your kid situation, going to a performance @DSA is an absolute MUST! Their shows are outstanding. Honestly Ive never seen a bad one and remember your ticket purchase goes straight to helping a great school! Follow their FB page and check out their website often to purchase tickets to upcoming shows cause they DO sell out!
