I did the Herbalism Roots program at the Denver Integrative Massage School, and wow what an amazing experience!!!! I have never felt so at home amongst a group of people. The teachers and staff are so wonderful and helpful. They taught us to be very well rounded herbalists from clinical practice to medicine making to aromatherapy to plant identification! I was able to get a job straight out of school at an apothecary! The relationships I formed through this program have been long standing and wonderful. Thanks to everyone at DIMS, I love an appreciate you all!

I completed my course in herbalism with Herbalism Roots. They are thorough in teaching about herbs including a class in Anatomy and Physiology. They teach the science behind the herbs and tapping into the energy of them. The hands on experience makes it complete. The teachers are warm, friendly and fun. I looked forward to all of the classes, labs and field trips. Our final excursion to the mountains was magical. I will continue to take the workshops and recommend Herbalism Roots for anyone wanting to pursue a career in herbalism or for personal growth. Beautiful family there.❤️

Herbalism Roots is AMAZING! The curriculum, knowledge, education materials, and support from everyone at the school was top notch. Three months into taking this program, Covid-19 arrived and the school and my teachers went well above and beyond to keep us engaged, move material on-line, and provide use with additional material not originally part of the program. I am so honored to have learned from Kim and Martin, who co-teach the herbalism portion of the course, each bringing different perspectives and backgrounds to round out our education. I could not recommend this program more highly.

Herbalism Roots at DIMS is an amazing program, it literally kept me sane during covid times. Hillary, Kim and Martin are amazing and with everything going from in class learning to have everything online, they did a fantastic job. You learn alot here, from medicine making, aromatherapy, all the medicinal benefits of so many herbs to hiking and glamping weekends. I love this school and everyone in it! Thank you for getting my life in a new direction...

Personally, this was a life changing experience. Herbalism Roots brought me back to my roots, no pun intended, ha! I was lost in life for awhile and they put me back on track with their passion, knowledge, and positivity towards herbalism and nature. Martin, Kim, Hilary and all of DIMS showed me raw emotions, love, and support throughout the entire journey. This school cares for their students in ways other schools lack. I am so grateful that I had the chance to become a Certified Herbalist through Herbalism Roots. Thank you to everyone at Herbalism Roots & DIMS.

I just finished the 500 hour herbalism program and it was such an amazing experience. Kim, Sharona, Emory and Martin are super knowledgeable and make the time spent in class fun too. They had to scramble this year to make an online program, in the middle of our class (when Covid hit), and I have to say, Bravo! They didn’t miss a beat. It was my lifeline through the lockdown and my class became very close. The curriculum is superb and well rounded. The gardening weekend, medicine making, plant identification and the retreat were the highlights for me. It’s so cool to see how the plants work and truly help heal people, like they have for thousands of years. You will leave this school feeling inspired to change the world, one person and one plant at a time. 💫♥️🌿

This program was flexible, fun, life-changing and simply magical! The BEST part is the glamping trip where you get to learn about Colorado plants first hand with the amazing teachers in the beauty of the Colorado mountains. I was a burned-out RN seeking new ways to nurture my own spirit and help others, and studying with Herbalism Roots and Denver Integrative Massage School in 2018 was the medicine I needed desperately.

I cannot say enough good things about Herbalism Roots! When I decided to go down the path of herbalism, I researched a lot of different programs available online and in the front range. Herbalism Roots stood out to me for its amazing reviews, course content, and affordability of tuition. They provide their students with well-rounded content such as pathophysiology, Materia Medica, and mentorship from instructors. I learned so much from Kim & Martin, doing practicum hours at Nurture (the schools apothecary), and from medicine making weekends. Even when the pandemic struck, the staff did all they could to ensure students were still receiving quality instruction online. They are so kind, responsive, and overall amazing!!

I highly recommend this herbalism program! I looked at several different programs, and actually spent a few hours sitting in on a class at both Herbalism Roots, and another program. I wanted a program with a lot of hands on learning, and something that was engaging and fun - not just listening to lecture. This program is so well-rounded! From medicine making (salves, tinctures, lip balms, flower essences, electuaries, bath bombs, infused oils, tea blends - we did it all!) to learning the body systems and their relevant herbs, to plant identification, to learning how to begin conducting case studies and prescribe herbal remedies, I really feel like this program gave me a solid foundation to start on a life-long herbalism journey. The teachers rock! They are engaging, super knowledgable, and inspiring... and the whole vibe of the school is just good! For the education, the amount of product/medicine making you get to take home, and the long weekend trip that is built into the program, it is more than worth the money.

Herbalism roots has changed my life in most ways I never thought it would. I had been through a lot of schooling and programs before and nothing ever sat right with me. I always wanted to be a medical healer and help people, but every time I had a job in the modern medical field my intuition kept telling me something was wrong. This program gave me the tools that were missing in my previous medical education. The tools that were missing were: mind, body and spirit…together! The weekend hiking trips on this program were so special to me. Hands on learning and personal interaction with the herbs was very soul cleansing and nourishing. Time outside in nature, surrounded by like minded people with the same goals to help heal the world truly was empowering. I always struggled with deep rooted insecurities from trauma and life in general, but this program tapped into my soul and retrieved the inner warrior I have always had in me. My teachers made this experience even more special because they have had so much experience and knowledge with herbs and holistic medicine. Their passion for holistic medicine shines through their spirit and through their teaching. Martin, Kim and Emory made it a joy to come to class every single time! I am also very grateful for the owner of the school, Hillary. Hillary is a brave and courageous woman who opened the school and has made a huge difference in many people’s lives. She has made a safe place for sensitive souls to flourish and find their true strengths through the art of holistic medicine. Sign up for the herbalism roots program if you want to learn the medicinal properties of herbs, the spirit of herbs, medicine making, and make new life-changing memories!!!

I attended Herbalist Roots for a Herbalism Certification-- this program changed my life. Its thorough, detailed, and rigorous. But also so much fun and such an uplifting and enlightening experience. I have a job as an Herbalist for a local herbal company now and am pursing furthering my education in other areas of holistic health-- this was an amazingly step in the right direction to me and landed me on my path. I loved everything about this school and would highly recommend it.As Rosemary Gladstar says... The plants called to me to do their work. And I said YES! Sign me up for life!

I cant say enough wonderful things about my experience at Herbalism Roots. Choosing Herbalism Roots for my education was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Life changing, really. The teachers are knowledgeable and are passionate about plants, herbal medicine, and their students. The instruction is thorough and combines not only in-depth lectures with hands on learning, every effort is made to ensure the students also get plenty of time outside to immerse themselves in what the herbs and herbal medicine looks like in nature. The program is well rounded and balanced and combines pathophysiology, herbal medicine, medicine making techniques, business ethics, and gardening/permaculture. They also make an effort to talk about some of the different traditions and history of herbalism and herbal medicine as a whole, which I loved and appreciated. The entire staff (including all of the teachers, Hillary the owner, and the administration) make themselves extremely accessible to the students for any support they need of any kind. No question or request was ever too big or small, and that meant a lot to me as I ask a LOT of questions! I not only gained a stellar education, I also gained a community and herbal family that is supportive of its past and present students. You wont regret it!

I cannot recommend enough Herbalism Roots 500-hour herbalism program! I came to the program as an avid gardener who wanted to understand better the world of plant medicine. Others pursued the program to be active herbalists, while others to be able to advocate for their own health! Each unit over the 6 months of in-class study is well thought out. Every two weeks, we explored a different body system in pathophysiology (with the incomparable Emory). This was followed with materia medica classes with Kim and Martin. Both have such an impressive history in herbalism and incredible knowledge they enjoy sharing with their students. The mentorship they provide and the care they take in preparation of their classes and supporting students is outstanding. Weekend classes provided in-depth study of topics such as medicine making and aromatherapy. If you are interested at all in learning how to heal through the amazing power of plants, you should consider this program!

The program is great, but disappointing in many ways. The purpose of this review is to inform potential students regarding what theyre about to get into.Too many tests - Students take multiple, unnecessarily hard tests and quizzes (with no adequate study guides). If youre looking for an enrichment program, NOT focused on constantly testing your knowledge, Herbalism Roots is not for you. I felt like I was in medical school and I was stressed out most the time. Not everyone learns well by shoving information and facts into their brain and regurgitating it on a test.Teaching style - Most of the program is hard lecture (An instructor talking for three hours). If you do not absorb information in this manner (if you require more hands-on interaction or a more creative lecture style), the program will be very hard to get through. This comment applies to the human anatomy part of the program as well.Extra money - Be prepared to spend a lot more money than the tuition and additional fees listed in the programs information. Herbs and herb supplies are VERY expensive.Too many herb samples - We received too many herbs throughout the program and it was overwhelming to take everything. Plus, we did not receive enough time to fully interact with the herb to determine physical or emotional changes (and it was often unclear how to use some of the herbs given to us). After a while, my desire to test the herbs decreased.Overall, the program was fine. I learned a lot. Despite the undue stress, I still LOVE herbalism and I want to learn more. I recently finished a wonderful program where the instructors were not interested in testing me at every moment, but more interested in enriching my soul and spirit.

Ahhh-MAZING! I had a Mind, Body, Spirit Renewal by two of the most loving and sweet herbies. The second I was greeted, I knew I was in good care! I filled out a questionnaire that helps them to make your FLOWER ESSENCE TINCTURE to take home (yahooo)! They also asked me what my intention was for my session (mine was to re-balance & reset), and it really helped to guide my session in my own mind and just the entire energy in the room. The session itself, started with some visualization to relax me, followed by a whole lot of even MORE relaxing things! Thai hot compresses, singing bowls, plant brushing, oh my! LOLI really did leave my Mind, Body, Spirit Renewal session feeling renewed and refreshed! Its not often that we get an hour in a day or even in a week, to check out and let go of the craziness in our lives-THIS is the perfect way to do just that.
