The teachers work hard to teach us new things and are very nice and understanding. The students are also nice. The middle school can still interact while social- distancing.

The principals and teachers at this school work very hard educating students. They are professional in every aspect. Some parents are not satisfied with anything. In this year of COVID-19, they need to be praised, uplifted, and given a raise with what they have had to deal with. It’s easy to complain, try something hard like saying thank you or have a nice day.

They never answer the phones. No email address to ask questions either. Communication is terrible.

Horrible! i am a ex- student from this school teachers were always drained and tired because they are stressed out by us. Unorganized students werent able to go to field trips because of other grades bad behavior front staff was horrible at helping my concerns and were very disrespectful. Schools counselor was so helpful and was my reading at my old school i love her so much! Principal was OK at caring and paying attention to the students. Music teacher was the bomb so nice and outgoing and payed attention to everybodys talent in the room gym teacher could be better at teaching and dealing with missed behaved students we didnt really get to do anything because she wouldnt just remove the students she would let them sit in there and continue to distract us and make her angry to the point where she would act like there were no good students in the room.Art class was OK we never got to present or finish our art we had a new subject every day . Actual main subjected teachers: Mrs. Lejeune was pretty well but we eventually had to get a sub because of a very bad accident that happened. Mr. Roe was bothering the parents that had to do work because of small situations that he could handle. Mrs.wade : always tired, Demonstrated work very hard and for the students who were struggling we didnt have tutoring and my mom nor grandma could help because now they are teaching work(math) differently so that was one reason why i was not doing so well in math. Electives like choir,dance,basketball etc. were very un-organized teachers who were from different grade levels were also elective teachers and we didnt get to practice because they had to go home and grade papers so i d understand why they couldnt hire elective teachers.I hope you read this before you enroll your child into this junk house of a school this is coming from an experienced student.

Had high hopes for this school, just sad how its the same (wild kids, overwhelmed teacher, unresponsive principal, etc), but in a nice building. the kids that really want to learn are being distracted by the ones that dont. same story different day.

They let kids get bullied. The front office staff is SO RUDE. I continue to be nice to them because Im concerned theyll be mean to my kids. Ms. Flowers(assistant principal) actually defended her staff after my son had his food stolen, and multiple teachers refused to let him call me. They have a couple of good teachers there, and the principal seems to care about the kids, but thats it. I was initially nervous to leave this review, but after I saw all the other horrible reviews, I could see Im not alone.

This is the worst school i have ever attended.

As a parent I have stepped into a complete nightmare. The communication between parents and staff is horrible. The children are suffering, my sons went from honor students to down a drain for the first time ever attending school. I am livid, and hurt all in one as a parent. I ready for the year to be over with my sons are not advancing at all this school year, because of poor communication after reaching out continuously for support.

Terrible staff. They are not friendly at all! Beautiful school, but need all new staff, except Mr. O, including the principal.

This school is terrible! Teachers nor the principal really care about the students, their only interest is drawing a salary. They dont care nor do they do anything about bullies. Staff is rude to students and to parents, and their communication is poor. Not sure why school even exists since they dont accomplish anything. DeSoto ISD would be wiser closing this school instead of Northside. Not even deserving of one star rating.

If I could give less than 1 star I would! There are no real teachers here, there are only warm bodies who draw their salaries (underserving salaries). Bullies are running this school because the teachers are too cowardly to stand up to the bullies, even though they are children! This school should be closed! You are all truly a disgrace to DeSoto! Dont put your kids here, homeschool them instead!

Nice building terrible staff its like they gave black people a second chance to teach because its not professional poor communication between parents and staff coming from Mesquite ISD this is a nightmare
