My son tested with Milton. On the high way, my son did not move to the left lane quickly enough for exit (the exit is on the left side). Milton taught how to be firm in changing lanes. In addition, he educated my son how to turn left at busy intersections, and how to move to grass in one lane streets for emergency lights and sirens. The teaching will be very beneficial to my son when he drives in a busy city.To check for sure whether my son has enough skill for driving on highway, Milton asked to go out and in the highway several times and confirmed my son’s skill. That extended the test quite a bit. The extension cut Miltons break time and forced him rush to the next test. He sacrificed his own time to give the driver opportunities to prove. Can you tell Milton is a warm-hearted person?

Speaking as a parent of a minor who had his driver skills test done with this company. My sons instructor (Milton?) was very professional, knowledgeable and no non-sense. I really appreciated his detailed feedback to my son and I can tell he takes his responsibility very seriously. None of us need unprepared and unsafe drivers on the road. I would recommend this company.

Very straight forward and to the point. Make sure you practice and use your “What Every Driver needs to Know” booklet and you will pass. Milton was not mean. He really didn’t show emotion. Just follow his directions and you will be fine.

Very rude and unprofessional...the first time I made a appt . I went and they said I wasnt on the list... The second time I call up there... She puts me on hold and blurts out a date and then hungs up on me without taking my name or information. Will not ever recommend or schedule another date here again. The unprofessional woman answering the phone with an attitude needs to find another job not working with the public. Because she has no manners or knows how to speak to people!

If I could give a negative score I would. These people had me WAITING FOR AN HOUR and the instructors attitude was TERRIBLE. Waste of 50$. I tried to support a black business and it’s sad that you can’t support your own people. Not only that he failed me because I passed a YELLOW LIGHT the light was not red until after I passed it. And to top it all off it was the OWNER who had a bad attitude.GO TO HAMTRAMCK!

My 18yr old daughter and I wanted to patronize this local small business. She arrived to her 4 pm appointment, paid promptly and patiently waited. They said the person administering the test is running late. After 30 mins I explained to my daughter that 15 maybe 20 minutes is running late and that this is unprofessional. She wanted to be patient so we did so. After 52 mins without any communication why my daughter and I were still waiting, the young man up front saw me approaching and said the person is coming out now. After almost an hour of waiting, this mans attitude was so poor, that my daughter had to politely ask if there was a reason or if it was something she was doing. I am certain this attitude was due to the fact that I told my daughter at the 50 min mark that she should take her business elsewhere, which is also what I believe prompted the person administering the test to come out. To take your frustrations out on an 18 yr old young lady is unacceptable. To make someone who made an appointment, and arrived promptly for that appointment wait for almost an hour is unacceptable. This wasn’t some walk in service my daughter made that appointment weeks ago. I cannot stress enough how disappointed and dissatisfied I was. I would divert and direct as many people away from this place as I can, this kind of behavior is becoming to common where people aren’t held accountable for their behavior. This was unprofessional and unacceptable.

The office was big and open. Parking lot with cones were easy to find. Everyone we spoke with in the office was professional, happy and helpful. My daughter had Milton as her examiner. He was very thorough and clear with his instructions. My daughter was nervous however Milton was calm and collected through the entire exam. He seemed to like his job and was not in a hurry to get through the test. Before she even got on the road he made it clear that she would not be asked to do anything that was illegal (I was worried about other reviews on here). She was not put on the spot for anything other than what was required from testing. Milton was a great examiner. I will recommend A & M driver testing to all of my family and friends. Thank you A & M driver testing. Very pleasant experience!

Had a road test and my instructor was Milton. At first everything was smooth but as soon as I made a mistake he started to become very belligerent and cursed at me. Unprofessional overall and wouldnt even recommend my worst enemy to come here.

After hearing that Milton was my examiner, I was a bit nervous. He wasn’t rude, just very straightforward and blunt. His directions were clear and he made sure that I understood my mistakes. The parking portion was a little rough, but do able. Although I passed, I’m giving 4 instead of 5, because there were a couple mistakes that my mother didn’t agree with. Other than that, they were good. I would suggest testing here only if you’re 100% confident, because mistakes don’t go unnoticed.

Despite some of the reviews, the place isnt that bad. Though I did not pass my first time (not why Im leaving a 3 star review), I was extremely lucky to get an appointment at such a short notice which is a plus. I expected the instructor to be annoyed as this is a difficult time (quarantine and everything) so I didnt really mind that. Instructions were a little unclear. The only things I disliked were the auto comment on poor reviews (seeing actual feedback from the owner/instructor would look better to potential customers) and the set up of the parking portion of the test.

I was beyond nervous taking my drivers test for the second time. The first time i took it, it was in Hamtramck. I began to start to feel eased after watching videos and practicing before. When i got there the young woman at the desk was nice and made me feel comfortable getting my paper work settled. When i found out Milton would be my instructor i got nervous lol. Reading comments on him and how everyone had a bad experience is why. The whole drive he made me feel very comfortable. He knew i could drive even with the minor mistakes i made he corrected me and we continued. I ended passing and getting more lessons on how to properly drive than i was given at drivers training honestly.

The staff is attentive and highly competent. The test proctor was by the book. Tough but fair. Id advise anyone looking to take this test to go to A&M.

I took a drivers test (not training) at this establishment and I honestly regret it. There was great customer service, very friendly people, and the instructor was patient and explained things thoroughly. However, the testing fees are ridiculous. I paid $50 for a test in which I failed the control test (its my fault, I know, not blaming the instructor). But the fact that Id have to pay an additional $50 to retake another test is insane! It should be free for a retake, or at least a discount on the next time I take it. Im angry because they just made $50 off of me in 10 minutes. My real issue is that this is a black owned and operated business. Theres so few around here, and I feel like theyre ripping off their own people! I understand its my fault I failed the test, but the testing fees need to be revised. There are other sites that offer free or discounted rates. Will not be coming back here!

I give it 3 stars because the experience could have been better. I had a road test scheduled for 10 am and did not get to start it until about 10:45 because they were late opening. Not necessarily a problem. My instructor was Milton. He isn’t a bad guy. Not the most friendly but he was not rude. I had seen where reviewers were mentioning how he lead them down a one way street and i couldnt understand what they meant, until it happened to me. Lack of communication he calls it, I call it lack of signage. there was no sign denoting a one way and it follows the path of the street u are instructed to turn on. If this has been an issue with a few drivers, I am not sure why no one has talked to city about it. At any rate it was a fail. I have since rescheduled and will have Milton again. My advice.... even if his demeanor isnt the most friendly, and even if you feellike the questions are “stupid” just ask. Not a bad establishment. Mario was super friendly, but it just could have been a better experience over all.

They are awesome to say the very least!!! My driver instructor was Milton And he was very calm and patient. During my road test, I only received one point and my instructor was so impressed he wanted me to start working with them lol. Overall great place; great people! Would highly recommend!

Though the sign up process was a bit trying(my daughter doesnt have any picture ID, so they were confounded as to how to register her) the test was good. We were very pleasantly surprised. The reviews on here for Milton are very harsh. In our case, Milton was great. Beyond fair, he offered very helpful feedback on what my daughter needs to practice on. He was a gentleman, tolerant of a mom who likes to chat, had a good sense of humor, and overall very pleasant. I also appreciated that Milton used positive language, saying this and that was not good, rather than fail or bad, and pointed out all the things she did well.

Way to high to take a drivers test, with the prices they charge it should look more decent in the inside; at least some carpet on the floor. Failed but never coming back better change with a lower price at another establishment. Friendly customer service but ripping off middle to no income families which is sad. Two stars for customer service tho. Good Luck

I had a good experience Milton was my instructor, he was very patient and answered and questions that I had without getting annoyed. He also gave me great tips even after the driving test.

Anywho I was greeted the moment I enter the establishment, she explain everything that will occur an advise me no refunds if I failed. Mario was my instructor an as he approached me I said to myself thank god it’s not this “Milton Character “. The basic parking portion was rarely easy except for Parallel parking but hey I passed that. Mario was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to , an made sure he explained every aspect of the testing portion. With that being said the $99 I spend to be a valid license driver was worth coming here. I called to schedule an appointment and they got me in the next day. The guy giving the test was informative and his instructions were clear,which I liked. I was a little nervous going in but my nerves settled and I did great.I passed, so glad I came here. Highly recommend:)

But Milton makes you do it on in one motion which i never seen before from anybody. I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND ANYBODY GOING TO HALLSTARZ AT ALL. And I wasn’t even able to use my own vehicle because of a top rear brake light that you don’t get a ticket for and they told me the rental was going to be $40 then got charged $50 and didn’t even go on the road.

Milton is a good driver instructor make sure youre checking your intersections checking your mirrors on the freeway and stopping on the white line at stop signs or he will fail your ass😂😂

Hallstarz is a very pleasant environment! I brought my daughter in for her drivers test, but because she was already nervous and havent had much practice she failed. So I set up and appointment with Milton to train her. He was professional and very detailed which was needed. The next time she took her training she PASSED :-) THANK YOU MILTON

This is by far the best road testing place to go to. My instructor Milton was very clear calm and told me what I did wrong. He helped me when I was confused on certain things 10/10 over Ill definitely recommend him to anyone thats taking the test.

The instructor Milton was rude and act like he had a problem before the parking and before we went on the road. It’s comments saying he’s nice he’ll talk you through it I didn’t Experience NONE of that with him the only thing I hear is directions but there’s places cheaper and better than Hall starz better look at other places and save money,time, and an headache!

Milton explained things good but made my nerves really bad by giving me points on the things I did right and when I did things wrong instead of him explaining to me why I got it wrong he kept telling me one more point and your going to fail and I didnt like that. I went to another place in Hamtramck and PASSED on the first try. Dont waste your time, or just dont get Milton!

Just left the testing site and failed, not because I can’t drive but because I wasn’t instructed properly on where to drive . The parking lot is the site of their first part of test and it’s set up horrible not to mention it was half shoveled. Places where there is suppose to be a line you can’t see because it’s a snowbank.No consideration that it was 7 inches of snow outside The instructor Mr Milton needs to learn how to instruct.

I scheduled my driving test with Hall Starz and was able to get in right away. My instructor Milton was very patient with me even though I was nervous and he didnt make me feel rushed. He was professional and I will recommend him to my friends.

DONT GO THERE!!!! The instructor is not precise in giving instructions. If I could’ve given the place a zero I would have.

The young man REALLY made MY nerves BAD started giving me points on the EASY parts and MY FATHER IN HEAVEN TOLD ME HE IS OUT FOR THE MONEY. BUT ITS OK. To this company, Have some older trainer , let the younger trainers train the young and the older trainers train the older.

Nice people but they were over 30 minutes late on starting our test today! I shouldve asked for my money back when he was over a half hour late, seriously, very unprofessional. So heres my real complaint they told me to go down a one way street that had no sign posted and the snow was horrible, I listened and went down the street as he told me and he gave me an automatic fail with no lenience. I couldnt believe it I was in shock, I did perfect on everything and did the parking great and I failed over him telling me and he knew it wasnt my fault but he said he couldnt change it because I broke the law by going the wrong way on a one way street where he told me to! Im not familiar with Detroit streets and had no idea it was a one way. They told me to come back and test the next day and I would deff pass. HA sorry no. Never coming back. Mario seemed laid back and understanding wish he wouldve been my examiner, I had Milton as my examiner. Avoid Milton.

Skip this place and go to Hamtramck, if I could give this place 0 stars I would, Milton is very impatient when it comes to new drivers. Took a parking lesson with him and he took it too seriously and acted like a jerk. If you can get another instructor at the facility get another one or go somewhere else where its cheaper and the examiner makes you comfortable and is patient! (i.e. Specialized Road Test on Caniff in Hamtramck)

The guy who i did my test with gave me 0 clear instructions on what i needed to do during the parking portion. He basically hung me out to dry and took my money . That is $50 down the drain because it wasnt worth it. My cousin had a appointment set for earlier that day and we had the same instructor. He even came late to the appointment but the place opens at 9. Dont recommend going to this place.
