The school has a new principle, shes a bit stern then what the students and parents are used to. The students and parents really love the culture blast every year. The principal has taken that freedom away from the students. The students no longer have the opportunity to be freely involved hands on anymore. Overall the school system is good and organized. Which is a huge Plus.The teachers are great. They really take time to teach the students foreign language of childs choice. French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and even Russian... The students graduate super advanced. Teachers take personal time out to make sure the kids are involved in robotics, chess tournaments, almost any activity the student loves.The children have the opportunity to apply for college programs earlier on. High school of their choice. Like Renaissance, Cass tech, Martin Luther King Jr one of the top schools...Overall a thumbs up for me.

Good me and my friends love flics

Ive been here for 6 years. This year the school is horrible. Im not in 8th grade but i know that one class is learning a totally different thing than the other class in math. They have eureka math this year and its not good for our school or at least for middle school. Our classes are 50 minutes long so it took us 3 months to finish something that supposed to take 30 days. Today they tried something new and shortened our lunch time to 20 minutes and added gym time right before lunch. I like teachers. I hate the math curriculum and Im not sure how it has good reviews. Based on this year alone Id give this school 2 stars but because Ive been to this school for so long and i want to show support ill give it a 4. If this school changes next year itll probably be better because I dont think it can get worse.

Its a very nice school. Im in 5th grade Chinese and Im almost fluent in it. There is lots of space, and wonderful people. Many many after school activities, and if you work late, there is latchkey.

Hello I am a 6th grader at flics and I just wanted to address that the knew dress code was a little bit to much and most of the middle schoolers that I am friends with also think of it as to much. I think this school year is not going to be the best.

My honest opinion on the school is its great. Our school is great way for student to learn new languages and get to be there selves. Teachers try to inforce rules as good as possible and are great. I personally been at the school for 8 years now and i am very comfortable with the school. i recommend spanish or chinese even though i am in french. I think french is good for kindergarten through 2nd grade and 6th-8th grade. but in 3rd and 4th grade students like to run over the french and math teacher. I believe our 4th grade french class is the most loudest and worst behaved elementary class we have.and on the negitive side we have gotten rid of our former vise principal mr.ostertag, he really was great for our school, multi tasking , interactive with students, and was a great principal over all, but our new vise principal is nice as well, we just need to get use to him hes a little shy and quiet so i dont know. For the first 3 months of school i didnt even know who he was because he stayed mainly with elementary and not with middle school. But other than that we have great traditions at our school that i think all students of all backgrounds and culutres will enjoy. our amazing gym teacher Mrs.white, and counselor puts on great assemblies all through the year on gun safety,mental health,physical health, fire safety, and many more to make sure we have an educated future and wont harm our selves and others. But you can ask any flics student about culutre blast. its the way our school ends the school year. we practice for months, weeks,days, and hours to make sure our performances are right. every year we have a 3 hour performance showing what we learned this year and our languages culutre. pre-k through 8th grade perform and celebrte the end of the school year. We ahve music blasted,dancing, eating,and so much fun.This is why ny student would love and dislike flics!

Hello I have been at this school for 6 year and one this eureka math curriculum is not going very successful they need to to teach regular math again it was more successful without the curriculum the eureka has brought down grades and test scores Get new counselors every year and the best counselor was mr.howard he solved the problems rather than giving u ISS for example someone hit me they said it didn’t matter who started it was a fight and I got iss now mr.howard would have made us become friends and resolved the situation the teacher are using bad language we are getting in trouble for things we did not do for one year I went to Einstein elementary school it was horrible I was sad everyday cause I wanted to go back to flics cause at the time they were working on addition while flics was on multiplication now Einstein elementary is one of the best schools and this school I don’t even see it on the list not to mention the language teacher need to go back to school and get a little more knowledge before they can teach someone the teachers are rude disrespectful and unprofessional I would not recommend this school to anyone also people at this have been getting bullied since day one and there the ones that are getting in trouble

I did not like it as a kid in 7th grade it was horrible now I went to Macdowell Preparatory Academy before I came to Flics and the kids at MacDowell they werent so bad but I just feel like these kids are conspiring against me I mean its hard to explain but I dont like it I never will and I cant wait until Im up out of here after 8th grade.... not a good school Im warning you the ratings might be good but its not good on the inside the teachers are horrible they cuss at the kids you do not want to send your kid to the school Im warning you

I am in 5 th grade I have been attending flics for about 6 years, The counselors have changed almost every year but this year it got worst,there is a counselor and he likes to pick and choose who he wants to belittle.But other then that the school is a great way to learn a different language meet new people.

Flics is a pretty good school my daughter has been going there for 7 years and hasnt had a problem she loves flics

I love this school i am in 4th grade spanish and so far i havent had a complaint since i been here

The counselor Mr.Clark is a real bad adult at the school . He set a horrible example and pick on certain kids . Do not send your kid here
