Ive been around a few gyms in the area and this one is by far the best! The staff makes all the difference. I had Big Mike chasing me down the other day just to tell me to have a great day! The coaches and classes are challenging but not impossible. I love having the freedom to do my own workouts on days I dont feel like doing a class. Honestly no arguments here just keep doing what yall are doing. Thank you for providing us with such a great experience.

This place is our second home, and the team is family. The welcoming nature of the staff and energy of the gym are superior to anywhere were ever been. The gym is always clean- which is a testament to the level of care put into every detail here. Our daughter LOVES the childcare center and we love being able to expose her to such a positive environment. Big Mike, Matt, Dakota, Coach K....the list goes on and on!

The gym is incredibly clean for how large it is and has pretty much every piece of equipment you could need for any typeof lifter. Staff is super friendly too.

I was a loyal member for 2 years until COVID hit I moved I Florida I talked to big mike the acting manager at the tome to disconnect my account and said he would.... however they continued to bill me from March into October and I called with the banking statements..I asked to have the money refunded since I literally haven’t Scanned my membership card since March 2020....don’t get scammed here plus you won’t learn how to fight either

We cancelled our membership over a year ago in writing, verbally, and in person yet we are continually charged hundreds of dollars for membership fees. UFC is illegally charging for goods and services that were not authorized. We never authorized these charges.

If you are trying to cancel your membership at this gym, make sure you ask for a cancelation form at the gym front desk. Do not believe the receptionist if she tells you everything is all set because they will keep charging your card and pretend you never canceled. I learned it the hard way and hopefully you dont have to.

This gym has hidden fees they charge for and dont tell you upfront. Especially when you try to cancel. They tell you oh it was in the contract you sign but its always sneaky! Of course, when I signed up he just told me sign here and here and theres nothing extra. -_- That manager I signed up with is long gone too. They have a super high trainer AND manager turn over rate. Its basically like every other gym, horrible customer service and hidden charges.

This gym is quite greedy for your money, even if you dont go there anymore they will try charging you. Also, despite their purchased name, this is not an ideal gym for martial arts.Its cheaper to go to a local fitness facility that has even more equipment and sign up at a legitimate bjj school for training.

Ive been coming here since they opened. Ive never had a negative experience.

Absolutely fell in love UFC Gym Downers Grove today. Its family friendly, the staff is personable. I was recommended to Big Mike, who was just incredible. The workout was great. My brother and I plan to train with Apollo. Hes extremely knowledgeable in the field and genuinely cares about his clients reaching their goals, not only with fitness but with nutrition as well. He sat and chatted with me to give me tips and suggestions to implement into my daily routine. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer. This gym is the future.

First off there personal training is a ripoff the contract. Is made to steal your money. I spent 575. A can’t get back I explained I’m moving away They don’t care asked for owners information they where rude. And wouldn’t give me anything. So I reached out to the main headquarters. Hopefully they will help. At the end off day. They basically stole money. And won’t refund me So don’t get scammed into there very poorly contract. For personal training.

I would not recommend this gym at all to anybody even enemy, pretty dirty place, hygiene on a low level, stuff is rude and they dont let you cancel the membership unless you come in the person, so they keep charging you month after month and trying to threaten you with the collection agency that you have to pay even if you are not using it and not able to come in person to cancel it, so when you finally come in person they tell you the that you missed cancelation time.What a joke...If i could give -5 that would be mu rating...

The simple fact that this gym has remained open during a global crisis speaks volumes to the staff running it. Big Mike is clearly passionate and in love with the gym as well as the members. If youre not a member here you are missing the opportunity to work with an amazing group of people. I would recommend joining this family 10 out of 10 times.

Having been a member since Nov it is incredibly surprising how many changes there has been. The classes have always been great and theyve had a lot of good trainers. Damien is one of my favorites. Jeff is also great. Most days I feel like I have a gym to myself which is always fantastic. I just met the new general manager BIG Mike today who is energetic and fun. He may be the sweetest fighter Ive met though! It has been a great change having someone so passionate at the front when I come to class or workout. Only negative I would say is Id really like more activities in the child care. The employees do a great job but I wanted to find something to help. BIG PLUS!! The hours are great. Soul reason I signed up and it has been such a benefit.

I just did a one day pass today because the world may shut down tomorrow. Im thankful I was able to get into the gym and get a lift in. My workout is the best part of my day and without it I may lose my mind. Im also thankful I met this UFC team because these guys are great. I plan to cancel my LA membership and join here as soon as this awful time is over. Big Mike thank you for the wonderful experience and for putting up with all my questions.

This gym saved my life! I went in to cancel with Coach Big Mike and instead of a poor experience I got just the opposite. I got someone who was compassionate and understanding. I was in a downward spiral financially, overweight and felt myself giving up. Instead of being money driven he simply said, were not cancelling, were not giving up, and Im going to invest in you. Im going to give you 30 days of complimentary membership and in that time you have to do 2 personal sessions with me, complimentary and a minimum of 3 classes per week. If after 30 days you dont feel completely different Ill cancel you out no questions asked. Give me an opportunity to show you what fitness can do with your life. 32 days later Im the happiest Ive been in as long as I can remember. Ive met great people and formulated everlasting friendships. I unfortunately cant afford personal training but Big Mike wrote me a program, a diet and text me every couple days just to make sure Im on track. I like the gym, but I love my coaches.

I loved this gym when I was working out, but I have currently moved to a different state. The equipment, customer service, and the environment is is great. I really appreciate how they communicated and solved my problems in canceling the membership. Thanks for your service!

Just signed my son up yesterday for boxing lessons with Coach Big Mike. He took his time to design a detailed program based on exactly what I was looking for. He listened and explained everything with miraculous detail. I was also impressed with how big the facility was and how much it offered. I had no idea it was a full gym with so many different amenities. I like my treadmill in the basement but the ufc gym is beautiful. We have turned the gym into our regular family routine. Thank you Coach Mike.

Ive lost 35lbs! Ill just say Ive never been happy in my own skin. Growing up I was always a bit larger than the other girls and that is something Ive had to deal with my whole life. I was hesitant going into UFC given the name. I heard great things from a colleague at work so I didnt think it would hurt to go see what it was all about. My experience from day one has been spectacular. I signed up with Big Mike who is the head coach of the facility. He is someone who emulates passion and love for what he is doing. His guidence has been crucial in my weight loss journey. It didnt stop with him though, everyone is so friendly and encouraging. The front desk is always greeting you with excitement, the instructors of the classes are always bringing their best, and the gym is always clean. Not only Im I more comfortable with myself but Im finally comfortable in a gym. 35lbs is nothing compared to being the big girl walking into the gym. Now that is a feat!

Great Customer Service!I was very happy with the gym. I loved having the classes available while still having the opportunity to do my own strength training. The child care being a part of the membership was crucial and a money saver. Due to unfortunate circumstances I had to temporarily put my account on hold. Needless to say I was getting charged for the past 3 months. Every time I called I kept getting the manager isnt in or the manager is unavailable. The only person who can take care of me you ask... the manager! I sent several emails and got nothing. I finally put a stop payment on my membership directly from the bank. I had no attention of coming back until I received a call this evening from Big Mike. Come to find out Big Mike recently took over the club and it couldnt have been at a better time. I had loved taking his classes and enjoyed his energy and passion. He was able to adjust the fees owed and reassured me hed be on top of everything moving forward. If he takes half the amount of energy he gives his classes I dont doubt the club will be taken care of. Thank you Coach and Im overjoyed to have you overseeing the program again. CONGRATS

UFC is my home away from home. This isnt just a gym it is a community of people looking for more than just a basic workout. Theyre looking for a place to call theirs! The sense of family and community is something out of this world. The coaches all put their heart and soul into the club. From the time you walk in to the time you leave it is a non stop experience that leaves you feeling comfortable and valued. The front desk is incredibly helpful and constantly engaging and encouraging. The coaches go above and beyond for members with and without experience. Every class leaves you not being able to handle more but wanting more all the same. You wont believe the smile you have with all that sweat dripping down your face. At UFC Downers Grove you not only train different, you feel different... in the best way possible.

Scam. Even if they say they will freeze your account during a pandemic they will still charge you and harass you for payment that you do not owe them. Even when you try to cancel, they still continue to charge you. Stay away from this business.

This place is a blessing! Ive been going crazy at home anticipating the day my gym would reopen. My old gym didnt open yet but Im happy it didnt because ufc gym is fantastic. Thank you guys so much for opening and allowing me to join. I plan to cancel my old membership and stay here due to the experience. You can feel the family atmosphere as soon as you walk in and between that and the new equipment Im completely hooked. I have to mention Big Mike for doing such a great job. Ive been here a month and can honestly say from the time I started to till now the changes have been phenomenal! There is a ton of positive energy now and the gym is functioning 10x better than it once was. You can feel the family vibe and appreciate it with every check in from day to day. If you havent checked it out or youre in the process of looking for a place to call home this is it.

I’ve had memberships at LA fitness and XSport and i can honestly say UFC gym is best gym in the area by a mile. I have nothing but good things to say about this gym. The staff is really nice, the gym is always extremely clean, and best of all, the amount and variation of equipment is top notch to the point where they even have a deadlift bar and chains. My favorite thing is the 4 deadlift platforms. In the 2 years I’ve been a member, I have never had to wait for equipment to be available.

Since they opened Ive been interested in joining but after seeing some of the older reviews I decided against it. Curiosity recently got the best of me and I decided to look at the reviews again. The one constant with the new good reviews were Coach Mike and how awesome and motivating he is. So, I decided to check it out today and within 2 minutes of speaking with Mike I decided to join. He seems really genuine and really seems to care about the gym and its members. I dont know how the place used to be but I do know that now it seems to be a great place to work out. I also met Andrew and Garrett who were both very nice and welcoming. Im extremely glad I went to check the gym out today. If youre on the fence at least go in and have a look. Thanks for being awesome guys, keep up the great work!

The staff here is amazing! Mike has dedicated 15hr days 6 days a week to ensure that everyone has a great experience. It is simply mind blowing to see any negativity from this page. We go to a gym to workout and at the end of the day we just need proper equipment and the right setting to do so. The fact you have a team of individuals going above and beyond to try and make your day better should be appreciated. If not, go somewhere else! Negativity will drain you and I believe we’re all here to be uplifted and motivated.

I just signed up! What a terrific and welcoming experience. Coach Big Mike was so cool! I was intimidated because I didnt know what to expect. Walking around the gym and see everyone was on different levels of fitness made me feel so much better. I was introduced to what seemed to be the entire staff and the smiles that accompanied the welcoming were heart warming. Im looking forward to my first class!!!!!!!!

My son and I had a terrific experience! My son is 15yrs old; a bit shy and timid. I thought boxing and self defense would be a great confidence booster. We decided to just observe the boxing class the first day as my son was to intimated to join in. Coach Big Mike introduced himself when we entered and approached us again when he noticed my son wasnt in class. After chatting briefly he explained how introduction friendly it was but because my son felt uncomfortable Coach did a 1-on-1 with him on the spot. They went into a separate room away from the crowd of the gym and worked on boxing drills. If this wasnt enough the Coach had a cast on his foot! I saw numerous reviews about this Coach already but its apparent why he is so well regarded.

Coach Mike is the guy who keeps this gym running. Without him, its just another gym. I signed up before it opened in 2018 but didnt really become part of the gym until they hired Coach Mike. The coaches are helpful and encouraging (without being annoying). The other members are supportive and friendly too. Ive been to other gyms where theres a lot of muscle heads that take over the weight area, and you hear a lot of slamming of metal and grunting. UFC DG is the total opposite. Ive taken strength training, PT, boxing, BJJ, and DUT, and all of those classes are excellent. Prepare to sweat. The only bad thing is the womens locker room shower leaks water, and the toilet stalls are aligned awkwardly. Other than that, the facility is always clean.

The gym is ok. Not a full service healthy club, and if you just want a no frills gym there are probably better options.The staff in my experience is not empowered to do anything. Even change the channel on a TV to a football game!Biggest issue is that they make it very difficult to quit the gym. When it comes time to end your membership, good luck. I was charged 7 payments at once, and the manager couldn’t even figure out why, let alone reverse the charges. I got a runaround for two days, and a ton of attitude. Went down this absurd path that it was another gym that charged me (it wasn’t, the charge was clearly from this gym). Gave up and had my bank cancel the charges. Not sure if it was simply incompetence or outright dishonesty. Either way, stay clear.

It has been far too long...After dealing with health issues for the past year and paying for a membership I wasnt using I mustered up the courage to cancel. I thought it was going to be an horrendous experience and I was pleasantly surprised by the end. I did end up cancelling but coach mike was so sweet and considerate. He offered to give me an hour on complimentary training and although Im just not committed mentally the investment and passion he has in the process is astounding. I will definitely be back.

Coach chris just joined the squad and his class was crazy! hands down the hardest but most engaging class Ive taken at this gym. also loved the old school hip hop... plus big mike jumping in life a goofball from time to time. being at the gym is always the best time of my day.

The overall energy in the gym has been transforming. Best gym ever! I have a gym in my basement and STILL have a membership at the Downers Grove gym. It’s super clean, variety of machines and equipment, lots of class options, and most importantly, the staff are awesome and so friendly. Coach Mike is always striving to make the club even better and very responsive and positive. Maria, who works in the child care area, actively engages with the kids and makes things fun. She’s played everything from board games to soccer with my 8 year old. She makes it possible for me to workout for 1-1.5 hours without worrying about my son being bored. Love this family friendly gym!

These last few days of isolation have been miserable. I miss my gym family and especially miss my training sessions with Big Mike. I cant wait to get back to my regular routine. I love UFC GYM DOWNERS GROVE!

I love the vib and energy of this club! Classes are great and keep me motivated. Lots of equipment for strength training and / or personal training. My personal trainer pushes me everytime I train with him. I take the classes and have a personal trainer on the days I dont take classes which helps me save money. Taking the classes keeps it fun on the days I dont train with my personal trainer. Having a trainer keeps me accountable between taking classes. So far I have lost 45 pounds having a personal trainer 2 x week while I take classes 3 x week. If your looking to loose weight, try this out! Their trainers are amazing! They even provide nutrition guidance which I personally desperately needed.

Big Mike was very helpful and had a great attitude. This gym is very clean, useful and a great local gym. The classes give you a great workout and would recommend this to family and friends.

In the matter of a couple days into this month the gym has felt like an ELECTRO SHOCK! The energy and enthusiasm has been incredible. I was curious on what the deal was because it hasnt felt this way since Ive been a member. I asked Anthony *front desk what was going on? He simply replied, I dont know what you mean, we have a new manager and his energy is crazy! Afterwards I met Coach Big Mike. He is just that, and energizer bunny. It truly feels different in the gym in the best way possible. I had an opportunity to hear his back story and a kid coming from his type of adversity is incredibly inspiring. I have 0 doubt why he is the way he is. Ive been with the club since it opened and he is BY FAR *may not be hard to top* the best manager that has been with this facility. He promised to be the same from day 1 to day infinity... Im hoping that is the case because Ive loved the gym and almost thought of cancelling due to the staff. This changes everything!

Its very clean and well maintained, its not falling apart like other gyms. Also, unlike other places its kept orderly, there are no weights scattered all over the floor.The staff is always friendly and the coaches are awesome.

My family just signed up here. Coach Mike was easy to deal with and helped my family to get settled at the club. I was impressed with how detailed and helpful he was. I was hoping to work with him personally but had a session with Damien. Coach Damien was awesome and Im very happy with my choice to join ufc gym.

Without a doubt the best gym I’ve been to. Actual space in between the equipment, sauna, and well maintained all around. The staff is great as well. Honestly just makes other gyms in the area look pretty sad.

This is my second home! The staff is wonderful and the classes are awesome. I have to say it is one of the cleanest gyms Ive been to and stays consistent, which is always good. The membership includes classes and Chriss dut class is one of my favorites along with Coach Big Mikes kickboxing on Thursdays. If Mike and Chris were on the schedule more thatd be great, but I do also enjoy Adrians classes, he is the silent assassin! Oh, please tell Big Mike to keep up with his emails, they make my days better.

This gym is fire! I didnt even realize ufc gym was a fitness center. My friend recommended it to me because I was complaining about how disgusting XSport has become. Needless to say ufc gym should be the new hot spot. Big Mike is dope, the energy is always on high and the gym is insanely up to date. Anyone who hasnt checked this place out should.

Easily the best fitness center Ive been to. I originally went to York Town and being 432+ lbs I was already self conscious in joining a gym. My original experience with UFC left a lot to be desired. I decided to call Downers Grove as the 2 locations are pretty close to one another. I chatted with Coach Big Mike for a good 25 min and almost seemed overly kind and authentic. I had to check it out given the conversation and it has been just as great from start. I texted Big Mike *funny given he really isnt big at all lol* just 2 days ago at 1030p and he got back to me in seconds regarding some gloves I was going to buy. He wrote me a workout plan, diet plan and gave me an hour of personal training complimentary. I wouldnt go to another gym again! I appreciate everything that has been done. If I can start keeping up with the classes Ill be in good shape.

Wanted a gym to work on my cardio and basic strength building. Love the place. Clean locker rooms and good service.

I was a member before the gym has even opened. I have moved to Florida and canceled my gym membership the first week of August and payed the cancelation fee. I am still getting charged each month. I have called EACH MONTH. The managers keep saying I will be refunded and they have canceled it. BUT, I am still getting charged!!!??? Now I got an email saying I owe money! I called and the person said the manager is busy when I explained the problem and was told to call in an hour. I was a member for so long and yet this is how I am treated?

My wife and I just joined. I was a bit nervous to do a class but my wife was quite relentless! I am happy I did, Mack was great. It was my first jiu jitsu class and it rolled smooth. Mike and Chris at the front desk were helpful at getting us started and the place is clean and well kept. Only thing missing is a steam room.

I was trying to decide between joining Xsport or UFC and upon my first visit I decided to join this gym in the first 30 seconds of walking in. It is amazing! It is different which was what I wanted! I love all the unlimited classes I can take! BIG Mike is the best! His attitude, his energy, his style really makes his classes painfully fun and leaves you wanting more. I cant run on a treadmill for an hour every day for a cardio workout. I need to be engaged in doing something thats fun and boxing is great! Its a full body workout and Ive seen results faster than anything Ive ever done before! Im so glad I joined this family and you will be too! Come workout in an intensity youve never imagined before!

I am a total gym junkie. I have teained in almost every gym and boxing/kickboxing studio in the area. UFC Gym Downers Grove is by far the best gym in the area. Personally I gravitate towards lifting weights, however the boxing, kickboxing and DUT classes have opened my eyes to a new motivating form of cardio (in the past I have struggled motivating myself to do cardio). All UFC Gyms are great, but this location takes the prize as #1. Customer service is amazing! They truely care about your individual goals. Each time I walk into the club it feels like Im walking into a small studio where I am greeted by friends and family. They take the time to make you feel special. The trainers are professional, experienced, and highly certified. They even train kids! I am so happy they built a UFC GYM in the Grove Shopping center which is finally turning the mall around. I cant wait to see what new stores will be added to the mall. If you dont check out UFC Gym Downers Grove, your missing out on somthing special.

Let me say first, Big Mike has become a crucial part of my day. Im overweight, looking to drop 30lbs and the last thing I want to do is workout! Ummm NO! Id rather go home and hit the bed after long days. Instead I find ufc gym, and what happens when I walk in? A beaming smile followed by a hug and tons of motivational chatter. What is there to complain on? It is clean, well maintained, brand new equipment, great classes and coaches. Of course their selling, with 100 million gyms how else would you run a business, HELLO! Coming from my life, I needed to be sold! Ill tell you this, Ive never been happier being sold anything else. Big Mike reached out to me today and asked me to share my experience... so here goes, my experience has been world class by world class people. Simple and to the point.

My friend and I went to check out the facility and I left feeling awful. I am a fitness professional and wanted to support a friend in her fitness journey. We went to visit UFC downers grove on Thursday, May 16th around 10:00 am and the GM was awful. He got upset about my friend asking if she could get a discount if she could pay the full year and also asking about the pricing. He went on to say “ he knew she was wasting his time and he had a member waiting for a PT session and pretty much requested that we leave. I am so disgusted and just don’t understand what happened. It’s like a bad dream.

Beware Carmela Arias is a trainer from multiple gyms! She has visited multiple fitness centers searching for places to train clients for free. She left a review in regards to my club as well. Only thing disgusting is her unprofessionalism in the fitness industry. Do not allow her comments to sway you from a great gym. I’ve met the “gm” here personally and he is a passionate, loving and caring individual. God speed ufc gym!

Signed my boy up last night! We went to xsport before ufc and I thought I was at a used car dealer. I decided to check out ufc because my boy had expressed interest in boxing. Self defense is important right now with bullying issues in many schools. We met big Mike who was kind, courteous, and most importantly, honest! He gave a good service and was clear on everything. When I asked if prices change if I signed up another day he said, no, itll be the same. I dont need to hard sell you sir, we have a phenomenal product. I hope to get your son started today, if not I hope to welcome him to the family soon. That was enough for me. Ill spend a little bit more for a good experience and service. Now I just need to get my wife coming and it will be the whole family.

A fantastic mix of traditional gym, sports training gym, CrossFit equipment and several dozen class options. Definitely geared towards the whole family and not just a fighters gym

Went inside and Emilia showed me around the place she was very nice and professional and cute:)the place is very organized and clean sucks that Im not from here if I was from the area I would a gotten a membership right away💪had an amazing experience at this place its most definitely worth it

Very spacious, Clean & modern! Plenty of free weights, weight stations, cardio equipment etc. and a sauna & actual locker room with showers! A+

DO NOT GO HERE! Terrible service. Save your money they are not good people.

This place is terrible, the staff are rude. They don’t care about the members only the money. I was charged hidden fees, which caused me to cancel my membership. After filling out the cancellation forms I’m still being charged a monthly membership. If things continue I will be forced to get legal help.

SINCE THEN, NEVER SET FOOT IN THE GYM NOR USED ANY OF THEIR EQUIPMENT. BUT STILL GOT CHARGED $79.00 TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT.*****2:35 am, Sunday May 5th, My bank account is charged $79.00 for a membership that should have been canceled last month. Attention Coach Big Mike, what is going on? I thought you said you wouldn’t want to sign up anybody if they’re not happy? Why IS UFC still taking money from my bank account?APRIL 7, 2019. UPDATE FULL REFUND RECEIVEDAt approximately 10:40 am, I heard my doorbell going off. I don’t usually answer the door because it’s just solicitors 99% of the time. The person outside would not stop ringing the bell. So, I decided to check it and see who it was and what the person want. To my surprise 😮, It’s Coach Big MIKE. Coach Big MIKE who WENT OVER AND BEYOND to give me my full refund IN CASH.Coach Big MIKE, thank you so much for giving me a full refund. You showed me that I could trust doing business with UFC GYM again whenever I decide to stay fit and healthy again.again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU🙏🏼. I’m not preaching. Just showing the gesture of appreciation and understanding that we finally are now on the same boat.PEACE! ✌️**** ******* *******************I signed up on April 3, 2019, initially. Anthony and Mike seemed very helpful and trustworthy in the beginning. They convinced me to sign up with my daughter. I did not realize that the $257 is only for 1 person. So I decided to opt my daughter out off the membership. $257 is for the 1st and last months fee plus the $99 registration fee per person that Anthony left to mention. We left the Gym dumbfounded. I felt like we have been scammed.To make this story short, I asked to cancel the account on April 6th. We have not used the gears, And we have not used the Gym since day 1. Never dropped a single sweat. So we really have not received any service for the money I paid. Mike REFUSED to give me a full refund (even if I returned all the gears unused) and still continues to convince me in keeping the account active. My account is actually ON HOLD, freezed per my request couple days after we initially signed up. Mike insisted on keeping my Money based on they’re policy. Mike said he TOTALLY UNDERSTAND and that he DOESN’T WANT TO SIGN UP ANY BODY THAT’S NOT HAPPY. STILL, DOESN’T WANT TO GIVE ME a full refund, but instead just a partial amount of what. I had no other choice besides just walking out the gym to avoid making a scene. I left DOWNERS GROVE GYM TOTALLY UNHAPPY. Gave them money for a service that I did not get. UFC GYM just want peoples money. One more thing, if decide to cancel for whatever reason, they will try to convince you to just freeze your account and may give you the “Cell phone” speech.
