Great staff, great prices and well-organized!The staff was very kind and well-informed. I came in for a rack mount compressor and they patiently answered my questions and helped me get what I needed. I was able to examine the item and make sure it met my needs.The tags actually state what the items are, which is so nice! The store is organized and well-run.On a side note, the building is pretty fun and fantastic so its just fun to be there if you love interesting architecture.

Evolution Music in Downers Grove is a rad Music Shop located in a neat building. Located just off of downtown, you walk into the shop feeling like you are walking into a concert at an old theatre with the way the entrance is designed. This unique shop contains a staff that is extremely nice and personable. Dan in particular is not just an employee but a real person who shows a genuine interest in you as a customer but also as a human as well. I found myself caught up conversation because I felt like I was talking to a friend. That’s how great they are there. Great shop and great staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great local music shop or to anyone who just values great, old fashioned customer service! (Cool guitar and drum selection as well, great variety!)

Evolution Music in Downers Grove is a hidden gem! The space has great character and has a stage for kids and local bands to practice and record. They buy and sell used gear. I sold an electric drum set and the manager Dan was super friendly and helpful. I recommend a visit if you’re looking for a used instrument, need accessories, lessons, or just to check out the building!

Dan, the Manager at this Evolution Music location, was such a great help. I called to only inquire on something, and he ended up providing me with a good deal of information that was in regard to the product I was asking about. This is actually quite remarkable, considering that not many personnel are willing to actually help a customer beyond their initial question. But with the personnel at Evolution Music, they certainly know how to treat their customers well.

I was looking for something extra special since I was the proud winner of a $50 gift card after a contest hosted on Instagram. I was interested in the EQD Data Corruptor, but none were in stock! So, Dan made the effort to have one custom sent to the shop. After a few weeks, it was ready for pick-up and I took it home after the wait. Sadly, I realized the pedal just wasnt for me so I had to regretfully return it. But, Dan was super understanding and let me refund, and swap the pedal for something else. Super thankful because the EQD Phaser is AMAZING!

I had an exceptional experience at Evolution Music. I went in to get two guitars that have been collecting dust for years receive new strings and a tune up. Jon is doing a fantastic job of teaching my 10 yr old niece piano! She loves working with him and seems to really enjoy learning to play. I like Evolution Music very much. I have taken lessons there for quite a while and I am always very happy with what we accomplish. My instructor, Jon, works with me to structure the lessons to what I am looking for and he is a lot of fun to work with. I have progressed so far with his help. As for gear, they have a great selection and are always reasonable. The staff at Evolution is great and I can’t help but recommend them.

Evolution Music is awesome! They buy and sell musical instruments and gear, as well as offer music lessons and a performance stage to practice with your band. I met John (owner, I think) and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with what I was looking for (drum kit, maybe a guitar). After discussing my background with him, I decided to take guitar lessons from them at their wicker park location. If you dont mind discounted instruments and great service, check them out!

Super friendly staff and conveniently located downtown Downers Grove! They have reasonable prices and a nice selection of used gear!They could use some better advertising to pull in more business. I stumbled across them by accident as I was leaving the post office across the street from them.

Great store with great staff. They have a fairly decent selection of acoustic, as well as electric, guitars. Some of their Keyboard and Piano selection is lacking, but they make up for it by being able to keep an eye out for something specific you are looking for. Plus, you cant beat the sales and deals they have going on at various times.

SELLER BEWARE!! The staff, who although may seem cool, are lowball artists to say the least. I sold an amo to them for what i thought was the best price i could get. $30 bucks.. They told me it was only worth 60 dollars max. When i came back in to sell some more gear (which they practically robbed me for), i saw the exact amp i sold them (only worth $60) for 149.99!! I was apalled! Ill never go back there again.. THATS A FACT...
