I went to Rio San Gabriel from kindergarten through 6th grade and I loved it. That would have been the late 1950s through 1964 and 1965. Mr. Brewster was our principal at that time. I see it looks very much the same. I grew up on the corner house at Casanes and Gotham so I walked to school every day. Even after all these years I am still in contact with many of the kids I went to Rio with and they all have good memories too!

Although childhood can be a challenging time, I believe that I attended this school while it was great and received a quality education. If schools do not have the same resources as they did before, then blame conservative politics that pushed budget cuts for public education.

I go to this school I am in the highest grade 5th grade.This school as such nice teachers and students.There is so many things to play.

The schools office staff are very kind, and the counselor is too. The activities are hard for parents who work and commute to attend, but they are fun when we can attend them. Hit and miss with the teachers when it comes to my gifted son. One thing I discovered is that no medication, from allergy medication, to orajel, to a cough drop is allowed without a note from a doctor. My son is at school today in pain. I sent him to school with orajel, and they confiscated it. He is unable to eat and the pain is horrible. I even called to tell them to let him have the orajel, I apparently and NOT QUALIFIED as a parent and Director at a pharmaceutical company to give my 10 1/2 year old son two Q-Tips and so orajel in a baggie. Absurd!

I was in this school with my cosens Anthony and Matthew this school is the best
