This is a great school. Starting Kindergarten during Covid has been a really difficult thing and this school has done an amazing job dealing with it all. The front office staff is always so polite and helpful. My sons teachers are always so helpful and pleasant. They are a true blessing. They really go above and beyond! My son is loving the school and is really excelling.I highly recommend this school.

I have been at the school (formerly) since K-5When I was in 5th grade there, the lunches were terrible. The applesauce was watery, they served expired milk ONCE by accident, the pizzas werent even cooked properly. You can even still see the shreds from the cheese.The school does nothing with bullying. I have been bullied verbally (mostly with rumors).There are no (barely) activities or classes that excites the students.

My experience at nlae was not a very good one, I was bullied constantly by majority of the school and was also outcasted by the principles own daughter. I was a bit of a trouble kid by the way i was treated was not acceptable. The school has great programs and the teachers are alright but if your a little out of the norm you have i high chance of being judged. They took my name and labled me as a virus. For years people did not want to touch me or even be near me. When i was paired up with kids they would cry. The whole hallway would be seperated as i pass by. It was very traumatic and in the summer of 2017 i ran away from home because of the bullying and at home experiences. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. I am not saying that it was because of the school but it did play a heavy role. I advise that you find a more open and accepting school to send your child too

Never send your kids there if you want the to be successful. All they care about is money and do not support the kids. My biggest mistake was keeping my child there for 3 year. The worse and most self absorbed charters school I ever encountered. They switch teacher every year and the ones that stay don’t care about the kids.

I went from the year it opened (2007) to 2012. It was an interesting mix of bad and good memories. The staff needs to handle bullying better for sure and they need to not have the kids learning things that are far too advanced for their grade level. That could’ve changed since I’ve been there, but I’m not sure.

I took a second to read the reviews and oh wow! Surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I love New Life.My son attends school here, Im actually about to re-enroll for next year. I appreciate the staff and the atmosphere at this school. New Life gives me the it takes a village comfort.My son is all boy, and honestly I feared that his behavior would negatively impact his education (as it has in the past..) Indeed my son started off rough, but his teachers, and the office staff, even Mr. Ford continued to encourage my son. Today he is thriving! I love the fluid communication with his teacher. I appreciate this school for taking such good care of my son. I work in the school system myself, and have done so for the last 6 years. I appreciate the curriculum. The things my son is learning here at New Life Academy is amazing! Hes coming home trying to teach me Mandarin each week! Every school is not for everyone. Im simply glad that New Life Academy of Excellence is the one for us!

This school is trash and they dont allow you to talk to the principal. they also allow bullying and cheating

I went to New Life since kindergarten to 6th grade,and when I tell you the school is great, Im not lying. The teachers and administrators are AMAZING and very supportive. The principal is a great leader for the school.Last ,but not least learning Chinese was probably the best part about the whole thing.

Ive been here since kindergarden. This is a great school and you learn chinese, i love it here, the teachers here care about the students and the only time their actually strict is if the class is acting bad. There is no other school like it. I mean yes the school has its flaws, but what school doesnt.

We have had nothing but a positive experience at New Life other than the typical things you deal with when adolescents are involved. I believe that the negative reviews on here are a result of isolated incidents that will happen from time to time. I have never met a rude teacher or staff member at this establishment. I am sure they do the best they can while educating our Children.

My daughter was up to 2nd grade, she was lucky to have good teachers.but the school lately does not fulfill all my expectations I think it can be better. if I had sports and extracurricular activities. I moved from home and decided to put it in the one near my house, that seeing the reviews has better academic qualification.

My first and third grader has been with New life since Kindergarten and we’ve personally never experienced any issues with bullying many of the reviews mention. Every teacher has been incredibly nice and accessible. The staff is warm and welcoming especially during pickup/drop off. The class sizes are small, they wear uniforms which makes our morning routine easier, they really enforce students taking responsibility at a really early age, ie getting their homework done and agendas signed. Plus, they’re learning Chinese! They also have annual spelling bees, talent shows, international nights and more.My only complaint would be the Receptionist. This is the first year I’ve seen her there, so she may still be learning but she is pretty rude and unhelpful. For example, I recently asked her for a list of aftercare providers that pickup and drop off to New Life and she said she doesn’t know. Ok, fine. When I asked her who might know or if it might be listed on the website and she told me to ask another parent. Like, what?I should also reiterate that my sons are still in “elementary.” If sports or extra curricular activities are not added before they are of age then we will move transfer them to our neighborhood public school. However, if academics is your focus then I feel that New Life delivers!

Its a school better than most, Ive been here so long that this uniqueness became normal, but this is a special school, everyone knows everyone, there are basically no fights and teachers usually are nice and help out.

I feel like it should be more of an elementary school than middle :/ some people are nice but don’t let people throw chairs at teachers and students :-;

I love this school !! My daughter is going on her 2nd year here & she loves her school !!! The staff is AMAZING & I wouldn’t want my daughter anywhere else honestly

This school has the potential to be a really good school but they are lacking in so many areas. First off, you can never speak to the principal. He always has his lackeys....the Thompsons....blocking any interaction with him. Secondly , the technology is about a decade behind. I cant for the life of me see what he does with the money he receives for running this Charter. Thirdly, for a school specializing in Chinese, many of the kids leave the school not knowing anything.They claim that they strive off of parental involvement but that isnt so. They strive off of a certain portion of the parents and the ones that they deem too opinionated they push to the side . I would really like the school to succeed but they need to really look at some of the things that other schools have to offer and step up. For example, for a school that goes through middle school there are no significant activities offered. No sports, no music.......come on.Let me not forget the schools library .......can we say old . How do you expect the children to strive if they dont have current material?!New Life Academy get it together or parents are going to be pulling their kids out at alarming rates. And for goodness sakes, keep those ghetto teachers and students out!!! If you have to allow them to attend, try teaching them some manners or educate their parents .

Absolutely WORST dismissal system! Makes the actual school not even worth it.

The school is garbage. The teachers dont do anything about bullying. And they dont even grade papers they just put random grades on ur paper and they fail u on purpose.They call your parents for no reason. And Ive been in that school for six years.

Great school and staff. I was quite impressed with pretty much everything from the start. Teachers are engaging, innovative and warm.

Not really a fan of this school :( they tolerate problems and let it go on there. Ive cried over it and nobody wants to feel uncomfortable at their own school. You should see for yourself though.

I see kids shoving each other and there are fights. Missing from this school is simple Kindness.

They say that we well learn chinese but no one ever does and the teacher get mad if we dont know it and the school just got computer for the stundet

Your not going to find a family like this one anywhere else. I wrote a review abt this school 2 years ago and I stumbled upon it today and I had to write a second opinion. Most people here feel like they are in a special school. And that is 100% true. When I was here all I wanted to do is go to public school. I’m in a public school environment and if felt no were near as good as this school did. There is a tight bond here that is hard find anywhere else. Everyone knows one another personally. Some of the teachers here seam more like a second parent than a teacher. Please send ur child here. They will hate it but ( like I did) but I learned so much from this school it’s crazy. I just wish it had to be taken away from me to realize it.
